I'm out of school, but sadly I'm going to be at a school during the conference. Maybe I can get on the college's Wi-Fi with my Kindle Fire during lunch break and watch it from there, as it's just a YouTube video. Don't let me down, NL/college Wi-Fi/Kindle Fire/YouTube!
It's going to be a lot more than 1000, as the first 1000 are the limited editions. The rest are going to be regular editions, which will be sent out to me and everyone that pledged for one. Once he sends all of those out, then he'll still have a ton of regulars to sell on his website starting in October or November.
When I made my Facebook account, it was under an alias and just for talking about BIT.TRIP. Now it has morphed into an actual Facebook account, which makes it awkward to have to explain to friends in real life that I'm under an alias.
Glad they made it. Didn't back, but I'm still looking forward to seeing if the finished product will be worth my cash.
On a side-note, I backed Jason Rohrer's Diamond Trust of London Kickstarter because I'm a fan of his work and he seems like a trustworthy guys, and more importantly: he was already finished with the game, he just needed funds to help manufacture it. I know that DToL is a real thing, and that made me a lot more sure about funding it. (Not saying Cloudberry isn't real, of course.)
Also, to people complaining about the title being misleading: you realize pledging costs money, right?
The GameCube controller would've been perfect if you didn't have to choose between wireless and rumble, but as it stands it's still the best Nintendo has ever produced.
The Wii Remote and Nunchuk have vast potential (as explained in the article) that wasn't fully tapped into with the Wii, imo, so here's hoping the Wii U gives them the chance to reach their full potential. The Classic Controller fills the void the lack of dual sticks on the traditional set-up left, for the most part, but the lack of wireless hurts it.
The Wii U controller seems great so far, except for the lack of rear-facing camera--c'mon, Nintendo, that can't cost too much to tack on--but overall it's pretty much the best of all worlds. I mean, seriously, it has a touchscreen in the middle! Tell me the Wii U doesn't automatically have the most versatile control options ever seen in gaming.
"To play, you tap the target you wish to hit. You should aim a bit ahead of where your target is moving, which is probably common sense to anybody who's ever encountered a moving object in their lifetime, but since that's all the game has to offer in terms of strategy we thought it was worth pointing out."
"There is also a section called Challenges, which sees you trying to achieve a particular score or other condition on each of the five games. The bars are set quite low here and we cleared them all the first time we tried. Our reward for doing so? Nothing, unless you count never having to play Chuck E. Cheese's Arcade Room again. And we do."
I was reading this review while eating lunch, and twice I stopped to read these quotes aloud. These are great bits of comedic writing, Phil. Cheers.
This is the second time this week I've been disappointed with a new Mario announcement. Before this week I had never been disappointed with a new Mario announcement.
Might turn out to be awesome, but that won't stop me from remaining extremely skeptical.
Despite the freezing issues I had with it, MDK2 on WiiWare was a superb game. There's no way that the developer didn't deserve to get paid anything for their work. Regarding Trent Oster's statements, however, I would never rule out working with a company EVER again because of one bad experience.
The PC version is $10 normally, so I would assume that Nicalis will probably price it around $8, like VVVVVV. I hope they don't charge any more than $8.

Re: E3 2012: Nintendo Direct Live
Yeaaah! I'll be watching on nintendo.com, though.
Re: E3 2012: E3 Starts Early With Nintendo Direct
Glad that even though I won't be seeing the actual conference live, I can still watch the other two events as they happen.
Also, just noticed "LIVE WITH CORBIE" in the top right corner. Lol.
Re: NightSky Rated for North America
@Corbs Can you use your inside info powers to tell us when this is coming out?
Re: NightSky Rated for North America
@LittleIrves https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2011/08/nightsky_coming_to_3ds_eshop <- This an article NL posted when it was first announced, and it was said to not feature 3D. However, I remember hearing news to the contrary from Nicalis/Tyrone Rodriguez on Twitter.
Re: Nintendo Has No Plans to Fix Mario Kart 7's Maka Wuhu Glitch
Liars.
Re: Talking Point: Why Gaming Needs E3
Are Nintendo conferences always 75 minutes?
Re: Mutant Mudds Closer to European Release
That doesn't make any sense, @Pengaweeno.
Re: NightSky Rated for North America
This is one of my favorite games ever, so I'll be buying it (for the third time) the second it hits the eShop.

BIT.TRIP Presents Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien
Never mind, that's 56.
Re: Diamond Trust of London Hits Kickstarter Target
@DoodleJohn If by "released" you mean there'll be some copies on his website for sale, as I said above, then yeah.
@BenAV At least you get yours a month earlier.

Re: Support Redux: Dark Matters Kickstarter and it Could Come to 3DS
I already backed one Kickstarter, isn't that enough forever?

I forgot how ugly the N64 controller was.

387 DSi units were bought last week. Lol.

It's Jason Rohrer, so that means I'll be getting this.
Re: Review: Block Factory (3DS eShop)
I can see now that is too good for Phil.
Re: La-Mulana Canned for North America, Europe
I am just a soldier doing my duty. salutes
But anyway, you forgot the "url=" part for Descent, and they confirmed that NightSky WiiWare was canceled a while ago.

Re: First Impressions: ATV Wild Ride 3D
Online multiplayer is what seals the deal for me. I hope you know that, other developers.
Re: 'Majority' of Nintendo Games to be Released Digitally
SAKURAIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!
Re: How Running to the Right is Heroic
Love how Klonoa was running slower than everyone else.
Props for Cave Story, Braid, and VVVVVV for a half second.
Re: Rayman Legends is Coming to Wii U, Supports NFC
This sort of looks like the best game ever. And dang it, now I want a Wii U!
I really need to get the first one...
Re: Talking Point: Does Nintendo Finally 'Get' Digital?
They're getting there...very slowly. If they keep going at this same rate, though, I'm afraid they'll never catch up to the competition.
Re: Talking Point: A Big Year for Nintendo
Exciting times, people.
Re: Nintendo Download: 26th April 2012 (North America)
Block Factory looks atrocious.
Re: Pikmin 2 Finally Reaches North American Wiis Soon
Nintendo Power is having all of the best exclusives lately. This, Cave Story 3DS on the eShop, and new RCR crossover characters to name a few.
Komic you're so lucky to have NP may already.
Also, tell us what the RCR characters are please.
Re: Interview: IAmThatOneGuy Talks About Creating Paper Samus
@zipmon Aran is a type of sweater, right? I didn't know that until I Googled the tagline.
Re: Talking Point: What New Super Mario Bros. 2 Means for 3DS and Nintendo
I like the second-to-last paragraph's point. Excite.
Re: Nintendo Reveals New Super Mario Bros. 2 for 3DS
@RYBlast No, Super Mario Sunshine is amazing.
And to clarify, who am I kidding: I know I'll be buying this game at some point. It may not excite me...at all, but I'm sure it will be great.

Re: Review: I Must Run! (DSiWare)
Best tagline ever. And yeah, I'll stick to RUNNER on my 3DS.

Re: MDK 2 Shoots for 1000 of Your Nintendo Points on 9th May
I hope this developer keeps developing for Nintendo systems.
