Re: Club Nintendo's Gold and Platinum Prizes Have Emerged

I have concluded that the cards are worthless pieces of garbage that I will just stick in a drawer somewhere and never touch again, and while the posters are equally worthless pieces of garbage that I will just stick on a wall somewhere and never touch again, at least they're shiny and I can look at them.

@VincentV I am just now reading this, but yeah, that's fine. Actually, I was just saying it doesn't make sense to say, "This game is overpriced at $8, but it's reasonable at $5." Like, either it's a good game or it's not. I can totally understand if you can't justify it at a certain price though; that's subjective and circumstantial and doesn't comment on the quality of the game.

Re: Review: Bomb Monkey (3DS eShop)

Thanks for the honest review, Chicken. I was seriously hoping for this game to turn out even better than it did, but it might still be worth the buy just to support the future developers of Mutant Mudds 2.

I love how knocking $3 off a game's price suddenly takes it from "way too expensive" to "reasonable". Either it's a good game or it's not, and since VVVVVV is most definitely a good game, it's worth it at $5 and $8.

Having said that, if eShop had gifting I would totally buy this for some friends.

Re: Talking Point: The Pros and Cons of 3DS XL

I start to think, "Is this really worth it?" Then I imagine BIT.TRIP and MGS running in 3D on this thing. What this means is, as long as it has a CPP XL, then I'll be upgrading to it when my 3DS doesn't work anymore. I'll still be buying a PS3 and even a Wii U long before I get an XL, but it's still on my priority list.

Re: LEGO Batman 2 Launch Trailer is Super

Just found this in the IGN review: "The Gold Bricks are these little challenges inside the greater world that keep you on your toes and have you trying out the more than 50-character roster that includes the Flash, Hush, Martian Manhunter and more."

I am so getting this.

EDIT: Just realized MM was in the launch trailer. Oops.

Re: Feature: Our Top Ten eShop Games

Odnetnin

@grumblegrumble For the record, I called it "a fun little puzzle game," not "cheap" in any way, considering it's a relatively expensive 3DSWare title but a great value for the price. Assuming you realize that I own the game, as I stated in the post you're referring to, the graphics and game play mechanics are exactly why I call it that. Sure, it's an enjoyable experience that's absolutely oozing content, but the graphics and mechanics are very simple, in service of that experience. There's nothing memorable or lasting about the game, unlike VVVVVV and Mutant Mudds, which are built on atmosphere and deep game play.

Re: Feature: Our Top Ten eShop Games

VVVVVV wins, that much is clear. Why Mutant Mudds isn't counted a close second is a bit of a mystery to me, though. Going off of the other 3DSWare I own: Pushmo should be quite a bit farther back, as it's a fun little puzzle game, but nothing more. Sakura Samurai and Kid Icarus probably don't deserve spots if I think about it. And once Cave Story, NightSky, and Bomb Monkey show up, they will dominate the list next year.

The End.

Oddy Thoughts™:
I'm going to eat dinner (cucumbers with dressing, pork, and sweet potato fries) and try memorize lines for the production of A Midsummer Night's Dream that I'm going to be in, all while watching the conference. Should be fun!
