I was hoping for an experience like Journey but this is tedious and not a good story. If one person doesn't play because of reading this it will ease the pain I endured. Had I paid more than the $2 it was on sale for I'd be crying right now.
Don't be curious like me, just don't play it. You were warned.
I gave it five stars on the eshop this weekend, bought it based off the wiiware review. Definitely a fun game and I like the interesting characters. I have to go back and re-fight people to earn better armor now, half way through the 2nd level.
Got it, be looking for some online coop action this weekend!
I don't care if its in the disc, its a financial decision, they may have well not developed those levels without the projected income to warrant the investment.
My son and I have copies and both love it. Our favorite is trying to find the broken down tanks on each mission to create funny new combinations and paint.
I can see the reviewers point but we play in small chunks each day so it never gets boring for us.
We can do the co-op missions which are exciting as their are so many close calls (and failures too!). I'm glad it's not easy.
The tank models look great and as a fan of tanks, it was a must buy. Takes about 3-4 hours to beat depending on how many times you have to replay levels. There are some frustrating parts where so many bugs come it's hard not to die the first time and then you have to come back with a better strategized plan of attack.
I like it, got a copy for my son too. The co-op missions are way too hard for us as two. I think they are meant for four. Although, he hasn't got a powerful tank yet and that might help.
@P-Gamer-C It's not noteworthy at all. Your comment "if you really game" supports this because "if you really game" you would own all the systems (like me) and you would visit other sites and already KNOW what they are getting and could put it together that the Wii U is not getting it.
Push Square doesn't list what they aren't getting.
It's traffic driving headlines and not noteworthy news.
They have lots of good eshop games, I know I have seen their logo on others not mentioned here and have took notice. I am sure I will be buying their next one too.
I have my easily upgradeable PC if I want to oohhh and aww over graphics. Graphical feats last for about 15mins then you better have some new and fun ideas or the game will fail. Forget graphics, bring on the fun games!
Backwards compatibility isn't required when you don't make timeless games. In the case of xbox he is correct because who wants to go play bland shooter number 1-4 when bland shooter 5 is on the new system.
This thing isn't a console anymore than my tablet and phone that are more powerful. It certainly isn't a contender with Wii U. Anyone saying that isn't a gamer.
I don't see we how it can't flop after a couple iterations.
I download cheap games. I want to buy a 3DS XL and download some of my games to the new system and leave some on the old system for my son. I can't do this and that's why I don't buy a 2nd system and why I don't buy expensive digital games. I bought Fire Emblem digitally and I regret it because I can't move it to a 3DS XL that I want to buy but can't because of Nintendo's policy. Nintendo loses sales, pirates continue to pirate. I lose, Nintendo loses, pirates shrug.
I have been switching to all digital content so format playback is actually not needed. I only buy 3D bluray, everything else is digital....except games only because of Nintendo having a terrible console linking of games instead of to an account ala steam.
Are there a lot of timed sections. Like in the demo where u throw a switch and have to race to the door?
I loved the look and combat of the demo but I'm not interested in that type of gameplay in a game like this so will be holding off until I can find out.
Lot of comments so if anyone replies tag me please.
I picked this up and for the price its a good time waster. Spent more time on it than with similar priced phone app games. My 4yo loves pirates and shooting pirate chickens now too.
Picked this up cheap after we just saw the movie and everyone loved it. My 4yo and I are both loving the game. The platforming is still a bit hard for him in spots but overall we like it and the time attack (coop optional) levels.
As a movie tie-in game this is a definite recommend as I was pleasently surprised by the enjoyment we are getting out of this title.

Re: Review: Old Man's Journey (Switch eShop)
Don't play this. It's painful.

Re: Review: Nine Parchments (Switch eShop)
Great online game. Excellent. Many updates since review.
You get 10 game saves now. You can join people online and quit anytime and restart from there the next day with you as host.
Re: Devolver Digital’s Broforce Is “En Route” To The Nintendo Switch
Put our family down for three copies if they have online play and the price is right! Loved it on PS4.
Re: Resident Evil Revelations And Mercenaries Are Half Price On The eShop Over Halloween
Beat and sold mercs but for 9.99 I might buy to have digitally forever. Did it have download local play? I might have to get two!
Re: How To Survive Developer Points Out Reason For Lack of Online Multiplayer In Wii U Version
@ECMIM I agree, even warner bros strips the online in upcoming batman.
Re: Batman: Arkham Origins Will Be Cheaper on Wii U
I bought this on ps3 (or 360 can't remember) last year to play in 3d which was awesome. I don't think they do 3d anymore, ping me if I'm wrong.
I already preordered it on Wii u awhile ago. Gamepad baby, I'm loving it with splintercell, Rayman and Pikmin 3.

Re: StreetPass Relay Issues Reported in North America
3 McDonald's - 1 has worked previously, 2 never worked
2 Starbucks - never worked
1 Best Buy - never worked
Re: Nintendo Zone StreetPass Relay System Announced
Great, another reason to hit starbucks everyday.

Re: Iwata: We Are To Blame For Poor Wii U Sales
I was talking to a group of "gamers" this last week and they had heard of the Wii U but were completely clueless about what it actually is.
Re: NBA 2K14 Won't Be Slam Dunking On Wii U
There it is! Traffic generator article.
Is it really still news when EA doesn't make a game for Wii U? If so, when won't it be news?
Re: Pachter Predicts Wii U Price Cut, Feels Nintendo Is Losing "Non-Traditional" Players To Social And Mobile
Lately Nintendo Life loves driving traffic with "guess what game isn't coming to Wii U" and Pachter threads. Must get them a lot of hits.
Did Nintendo Life get a new overlord site editor? It's a rather jarring change from meaningful content to this TMZ style reporting.

Re: Need For Speed Rivals Not Screeching Onto Wii U
At what point will something NOT being for Wii U stop being noteworthy news to require a Nintendo Life article?
Re: Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D Comes With Free Mario Lost Levels at Best Buy
Got this with my preorder when I saw it last week.

Re: Review: ATV Wild Ride 3D (3DS eShop)
I just got it on sale 5.99 and definitely worth that.
Control issues are as described. Clipping hasn't bothered us.
No one online, considering a second copy so we can local play.
One con, game gets too hard for the kids after first couple circuits.
Re: Talking Point: The Arrival of eShop Download Codes in Stores is a Smart Move
I'll go all digital, like I already have for PC, when Nintendo fixes their tied-to-the-system policy.
Re: Talking Point: The Terrible Timing of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate's Stock Issues
I believe its solely to push digital.
The tied to the system eshops are the biggest f u to customers of any digital game seller there is or ever will be.
Re: Talking Point: An Open Letter To Nintendo
I have more Wii U games than I can play. On top of that, I have their first party games that are nearly infinitely replayable.
Re: GameStop: Wii U Marketing Strategy Has "Not Broken Through" To Consumers
Marketing is bad. Even the "tech" blog type sites REVIEWING the system don't understand what they have.
As far as my local gamestop, the culture there was anti-nintendo long before the Wii U came out.

Re: Review: Lola's Math Train (3DS eShop)
Will be getting this one too. I have the few other kids games, they are around but hard to find.
Re: Wii U Version of Need For Speed: Most Wanted Unlikely To Get DLC Support
A lot of Wii U owners own multi-platforms...saying no DLC for Wii U kind of makes the Wii U lose share of the new sales to begin with.
Anyway, I don't buy NFS games anymore, just like most franchises afer EA buys the franchise and turns them into a cash grab.
Also, it's EA, so their servers have a good chance of just plain not working.
Re: Review: Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (Wii U)
I'm so glad the saves can be transferred 3DS to Wii U and Wii U to 3DS. I got both through the pre-order deal.
Very good review. This will be my first Monster Hunter. I got a beginners guide from Culty.
Re: Miyamoto: Mobile Competition Actually Helps Wii U

Re: Review: Jeopardy! (Wii U)
They should drop these to $9.99 and I'd own both the game shows.
Re: Nintendo Download: 21st February 2013 (North America)
@Angel792 Thank you!
Re: Nintendo of America Offering Free Retail Game To New 3DS XL Buyers
Don't be mad. You got months of use that someone else missed out on. You win.
Re: Nintendo Receives Zero BAFTA Game Awards Nominations
It is hip to hate on Nintendo right now.
Shovel ware phone games are all the rage.
Re: Wii U To Get An "Exclusive" Rayman Legends Demo Soon
That's a sad joke. Time to cancel my pre-order.
Re: Crystal Dynamics Explains Why Tomb Raider Isn't Coming To Wii U
Wii U has a controller exactly like PS3 and 360 so this makes no sense.
Anyway Wii U misses out on the politically correct boy looking Lara, boo hoo.
I'll pick this up in the steam summer sale for <$10 and play it for an hour before realizing it's just overhyped and nothing special..
Re: Review: Just Dance 4 (Wii U)
Does anyone have a date when download songs are coming to the WiiU?
Re: Review: Wild Adventures: Ultimate Deer Hunt 3D (3DS eShop)
Good game for the price. We are enjoying it.
Re: Talking Point: The Emergence of Download-Only Retail Games
Tie games to an account, no re-download restrictions when your signed in....see steam, Microsoft, itunes, Google play, psn, game fly...etc etc
I would own plenty of digital downloads through Nintendo if they did . Never buying a $40 game that's tied to one system. Ever.
Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Live Streaming Confirmed, But Not on Wii U
How bored do you have to be to watch kids play COD?
Re: Nintendo Executive Describes Rise of Tablet Gaming as "Undeniable"
I buy lots of tablet games, they are fun at first, cheap, but don't hold my interest. I go back to my 3DS when I went an extended gaming session.
Re: Wii U In-Game Voice Chat Won't Use GamePad Microphone
I'm glad for this. Get a separate mic with a mute button so you can be responsible and mute it when there is background noise..
Re: Review: Crazy Chicken Pirates (DSiWare)
I picked this up and for the price its a good time waster. Spent more time on it than with similar priced phone app games. My 4yo loves pirates and shooting pirate chickens now too.
Re: Feature: James's Favourite Nintendo Life Moments
Congrats and hope to hear about your exploits from time to time. I always looked forward to your posts and reviews.
Re: Feature: The Potential of Wii U and Amazon
You can watch movies digitally. Music digitally. Don't get caught up on not being able to put a disc in to do these things.
Re: Review: The Adventures Of Tintin: The Secret Of The Unicorn (3DS)
Picked this up cheap after we just saw the movie and everyone loved it. My 4yo and I are both loving the game. The platforming is still a bit hard for him in spots but overall we like it and the time attack (coop optional) levels.
As a movie tie-in game this is a definite recommend as I was pleasently surprised by the enjoyment we are getting out of this title.
Re: Kid Icarus: Uprising 3D Screenshots Swoop Into View
@VintageBoy Very Nice! Thank you.
Re: Kid Icarus: Uprising Gives New SpotPass Weapons Every Day
Samurai Warriors weekly download content would work sporadically and then skip a week and eventually never worked again. Same with the free Pokedex.
I hope this one keeps working.
