Re: Report Suggests That June Could Be Crucial For Iwata's Future At The Head Of Nintendo

Iawata has to go. You can ask gamers to please have patience once, but when you ask it several times and here we are in year two with a pathetic Virtual Console and we have yet another huge drought of top quality games between Feb (DKC) to Mid May (MK 8) I am a huge nintendo fan and bought my Wii U day one, and although I do not regret it, I must say that I feel taken. Probably my last Nintendo console.

@MC808 I should clarify that this was in Canada so we didn't have babbages. we had Toys R us and a second tier chain called Toy City. I had a TG-16 early on and used to get my games from a Toys R us store that my uncle ran, he told me one day that they had to ship it all back due to pressure from Nintendo. The reason given had something to do with shelf space allocation but he told me that there was massive pressure from nintendo to get this system out of shops before the SNES arrived. From that point onward I noticed that all toy stores and department (Zellars, Simpsons, Woolco etc.) dropped the system too. A couple years later I found the Turdo Duo at a Radio Shack and was super pumped! I asked the manager why they carried this and no other systems and although I don't remember his answer word for word it was very similar to what my uncle mentioned years earlier. NEC's competitive system was not "welcome" by Nintendo.

@Samurairu Nintendo was the reason the Turbo Graphix 16 wasn't allowed to be sold in toy stores. They put pressure on stores that this upcoming and impressive system if made available would mean Nintendo would pull out. That's why the system was only sold in Radio Shack. Nintendo is a company, a company filled with greed likle any other company and made a selfish choice then that hurt gamers. So although it suck I have no sympathy for Nintendo

Re: Sonic Lost World Sales Reached 640,000 in 2013

I actually really liked Lost Worlds up until abut the half-way mark. As the stages difficulty ramped up and started requiring pin point accuracy, the weakish controls really started to show. I walked away from it during the 5th world but enjoyed it up until that point. The Nights and Yoshi bonus stages were excellent though!

Re: Satoru Iwata Confirms That DS Games Are Coming To The Wii U Virtual Console

This wouldn't be terrible news if the Wii U wasn't in it's disastrous state. But The Wii U is drowning and this announcement confirms that Iwata is on Sony's payroll to consistently NOT listen to potential buyers and critics advice and punish their current fans with crappy VC games and terrible online service. Don't get me wrong, DS games are a great addition, why not on the 3DS is totally weird to me but HEY it's a nice add. It's just so far off from fixing the problem that I believe Iwata is totally insance and no one has the guts to get rid of him. THE MADNESS OF KING IWATA!

Re: Mass Market Price And Mario Kart 8 Will Reverse The Wii U's Fortunes, Say UK Retailers

@LUIGITORNADO I would have to argue that casual gamers tend to play smart phone/tablet games which are very cheap and can be played on all their devices with a single purchase. Casual gamers can be turned off very quickly and hearing from a fellow peer regarding this type of archaic method and a fairly consistent under performance online could hurt potential sales. And of course hardcore gamers aren't interested since Bayonetta 2 was announced well over a year ago with no release date yet so interest in that title is waning and no promotion of X doesn't help either.

Re: Nintendo Has "Great Games" But Is Facing A "Structural Problem", According To Industry Analysts

Nintendo should play a PS4 and understand just how amazing their competition is. Nintendo's online wasn't ready till hours before launch then crashed horribly during christmas. Were they not expecting people to buy their system during the busiest period of the year? All the while Sony has the playstation netowrk, an upcoming netflix-like service which I find to be an amazing idea and crazy cheap deals for games purchased online. Nntendo charge $5 for a 25year old copy of Golf that can only be played one one format...ONE FORMAT! They are so far behind now that it's sad and I agree (however painful this is to say because I have been loyal since day one) that they should bow out.

The Wii was a fluke and needs to be acknowledged as just that. Sure it was very successful but I have not seen any indication that the company has used this success to secure a positive outcome for the WiiU. They are staying the course in a market that has gone beyond being labelled as "toys" and this is one reason of many as to why they are failing and 3RD party companies are staying away. It's a shame cuz I love the Wii U but am constantly disappointed in their decision making.

$15 for a polished rehash of a 20 year old game? I've been a huge Nintendo supporter for 30 years but I think I've had enough. With the value Sony and Apple are giving to their consumers, I am finding it harder to justify Nintendo's mentality.
