I hope it'll go lighter on the social sim aspect that 3 Houses was so big on. Less of that and more battles would be great. Hopefully a better story than Engage!

@Zeroo Ah, I see! Sorry about that, yes that makes sense and I agree with that. I think the graphics are a fair amount better than 3DS, but definitely nowhere near as nice as DQ XI (or even S - Definitive Edition for that matter).
I don't think they'll put the same kind of effort, visually speaking into spinoffs as they do for the mainline series. It sucks but seems to be what they do.

Going to have to disagree. I thought this looked great! Interesting and colourful environments. Pokemon SV looks miles behind this game. Also it'll actually be polished, unlike the jank, bugs and severe frame rate issues in Pokemon SV.

Nevertheless, you're incorrect about a couple of things. Development of Dragon Quest XI began in early 2014. It was released in Japan approximately 3.5 years after development began.

Dragon Quest XII has been in development since June of 2019 already. It'll likely be a Fall '22 release in Japan and in the West if they do a worldwide release. Unlikely though. Probably Fall 2023 for the West. Was a long time when this article was new but currently that would give us about a 2-3 year wait still.
