Re: Review: Shin Megami Tensei IV (3DS)

To anyone who does not know, SMT 1 and SMT 2 were on the Super Nintendo, released only in Japan. Translation patches do exist, and I love those games dearly. The third entry is SMT 3: Nocturne. (The 3 in the title was dropped for the international release.) Nocturne came out for PS2 in 2004, and it was a profound experience for me.

I see many of you are asking if it is anything like Persona. Yes, and no. The game features the same demons for the most part, and does feature demon fusion, much like Persona fusion. Your party members are recruitable demons instead of your character's friends from high school. I can't speak for SMT4, but the other 3 are not nearly as character driven as the Persona series, as it does not feature social links or even half as much dialogue for that matter. These games are much more serious and dark in tone. Also the difficulty in Persona is a cakewalk compared to SMT.

I must admit this review was beautifully written. I actually 100%'ed this game on my Super Nintendo a few days ago. Beat every level and found every secret exit. I think I'll have a go on my Wii U too. I won't be needing Miiverse for help though since I know this game inside and out. I have been playing this game for as long as I can remember!

@ocarinadude14 Ys does not stand for anything... haha. It's pronounced as "ees". It is a video game series that is popular in Japan but not so much here (no idea why). Check out Ys Books I & II on virtual console, or maybe even Ys: The Oath in Felghana on Steam.

Some of you complaining and being rude makes me so mad... seriously, just like children.
Anyways... I'm beyond ecstatic for Style Savvy Trendsetters! I played the first one to death, and this one is clearly a significant improvement. So excited <3 However I think it would be better named as Style Savvy 2, or even the Japanese name for the series "Girls Mode". xD

I love this game so much, I don't understand why people don't like it. Sure, it's different. But what is life without diversity? Boring. Also, the camera may have its issues, but it's nowhere near as frustrating as the camera in Super Mario 64. It wouldn't even let you move it where you wanted it to go sometimes. It's understandable though due to it being such an early 3D game.
