Re: Feature: Our Favourite Super Mario Games

Millenia

@TheDreamingHawk - The gamecube controller is not practical for SNES games, nor was it meant to be used with SNES games. You can't call the control scheme horrible when you're not using the proper controller. Get a classic controller and experience the magic.

I couldn't agree more with Super Mario World as the best. I don't think it will ever be topped. New Super Mario Bros just doesn't do it for me since I've played SMW as a young child back in the 90s, and I've always come back to it periodically even to this day. The rest of the ordering I don't quite agree with, other than #3 and #2. Your top 3 matches mine for sure!

Re: Matte Red and Matte Blue DSi Models Hit North America This Week

Wow, you guys are so bratty and rude. There are more casual gamers out there that are not concerned with what is the latest hardware. I know there are also plenty of parents out there who may not have much of a budget and would like to get something nice for their children. The DSi still sells, I think it's great that they're adding more choices for those looking to purchase one.

Re: Review: Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance (3DS)

Millenia

@RevolverLink - I think you should be fine if you played through KH1&2. The only title that chronologically takes place after KH2 is Coded, which I have read did not contribute much to the plot. I'll be reading about it myself because I'm not interested to play through it. Birth by Sleep is the prequel to KH1, Chain of Memories and 358/2 Days are both before KH2. Chain of Memories came out before KH2, and you were fine then! So you'll be okay. It wouldn't hurt to read up or watch cutscenes! The series creator refers to BBS as just as important as the numbered entries though, so if you don't understand something it most likely be referencing BBS. I don't know much about the plot of KH3D though, so there's no telling. I think I also read that KH3D includes synopses of the other titles within the game, or maybe in the manual, so that will help out as well I'd imagine.

Anyway, great review! My absolute favorite in the series is Birth by Sleep by far, I feel like nothing could ever top it. I know that the same team created this game. As long as I don't expect it to outperform BBS, then I think it will be an enjoyable experience!

Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue Three

Millenia

I play Theatrhythm Final Fantasy every day since I got it so of course that.
Still finishing up Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, I'm so tired of it but there's only 20 missions left so I just have to get through it. -_-
I downloaded Mighty Switch Force and I am absolutely blown away by it so I will be playing through that.
Ys: The Oath in Felghana, that I got from the Steam sale! I will be playing this the most, it is FANTASTIC. Check it out, it's only $5 right now <3

Re: Hardware Review: Nintendo 3DS XL

Millenia

So I assume then it is basically exactly like the DSi XL, except a 3DS of course. I am in love with my DSi XL really, and it's so easy to pay the price of slight pixellation for larger screens which provide a much better experience in my opinion. It's easier for me to immerse myself with a larger screen. I will be buying a 3DS XL for sure, but I definitely want to wait for more color options or special editions!

Re: Review: Theatrhythm: Final Fantasy (3DS)

Millenia

Could not agree more with the score. I have already put more hours into it than any other 3DS game I have. Also because so many people are asking, you do not have to be a Final Fantasy veteran to enjoy the game! Although it's not a a core title, I think it would actually be a great starting point if you're interested in the series since it exposes you to all of the main titles! After a while of Theatrhythm you can choose which game you're the most interested in

Re: SEGA Europe Closes Five Offices, Shifts Focus to Digital

Millenia

What has happened to SEGA is just so sad. I feel like ever since the Dreamcast went down under, so did the rest of the company. It just seems like a lot of their games lost the magic that they used to have, especially a lot of the recent Sonic games! Sonic didn't deserve to have his reputation ruined by their games. But I think SEGA is on the right track recently, especially looking at Generations. We're all rooting for you SEGA!

Re: Talking Point: The Pros and Cons of 3DS XL

Millenia

I really think that the DSi XL is a work of art and is the best way to experience DS games, so I'd imagine that it would be the same with the 3DS XL. However, I really wish we got Japan's white model, I'm not thrilled with how the inside of the console looks with the all black color. The white console looks elegant.
