Only thing bad about Dragon's Dogma was the rehash running back and forth early on. Nice on paper, but got old fast. I hear they've improved it with the latest release.
I truly believe people that say it's a great game experience with good challenge, and amazing sites to behold. In your case, I'm sure it's worth atleast trying out.
Anyone that truly thinks this is a statement made by Nintendo, and it's as big an issue as some would claim, then maybe withholding one's money from Nintendo products altogether would be a statement matching that claim.
Also, am I alone in this, or do people find learning new moves at 'level-up' to be more fun than finding different sub weapons, secret main weapons and upgrades, different garb providing different boosts? Maybe it's old fashioned, but I feel that's an area that downgraded, and didn't improve.
It's not so much about plain change, but how much, and what kind. I'm not one who constantly poo poos an updated version of a classic game. They are often major improvements, and I'm not blinded by nostalgia just for nostalgia sake. I don't feel the new Castlevania is an improvement. It's just... change.
I've said this in the past, and I hold to it... Mirror of Fate is not a bad game at all. I own it, and am still trying to work my way through it. It's some sort of barrier that keeps me playing in very small doses. I'm trying to let it grow on me, because I like Castlevania that much.
Call me a 'very small hardcore base fan' if you wish, but copying the God of War gameplay isn't an interesting risk at all. I like God of War because it's God of War. I liked Castlevania because it was Castlevania.
Thankfully I still have the originals, and can play Symphony of the Night over, and over, and over again and not tire of it.
I will own a PS4 by the time the next Red Dead Redemption comes out. That is non negotiable. I will also hold off on some games, such as Watch Dogs as well until then.
The hold up may be to sell less than stellar titles easier, with less competition in the shop. Seperate on both consoles of course, ready to do it all again next gen.
Just a top of my head thing I guess. There's no doubt the open world genre is popular. I think an open world with all the loveables... Mario, DK, Zelda, etc.. would do the trick. Maybe too Kingdom Heartsy... I don't know. This isn't a big new IP idea, I realise, but still may be attractive.
How about a fun GTA family friendly open world, all your favorite characters game, Nintendo. I'm sure it can do as well, and probably better than LEGO. It may not be the most original, but I have no doubt Ninty could add many fun and unique twists.
I hear ya. I've wished for some time there was one console that lived 20+ years, or as long as the still strong DVD player lives, and tech advances didn't matter. Dedicated developers just worrying about a fun experience, and not a new engine that's too powerful. Sadly, just a dream world.
No, I wouldn't say they're doing it for the fun of it. The problem is mostly with Nintendo/Wii U. It's simply not built for the long term. Just like every console generation, they get tired towards the end of the life span. The problem with Wii U is not so much now, but in 2-3 years. It will be tired in the standard tech sense, and will lose out on more and more third party titles.
The other consoles will be set for longer term. Not to say at all Wii U won't have lots of great games. They definitely will. It's just pretty much a Wii rerun in the big picture.
Pushmo is a great new IP from Ninty, but probably limited in long range scope. Taking a chance with something big and new would be nice if they want to expand the audience.
It's wrestling. The kids apparently like it. Today's product anyway. If most of the negative rumors added up to be true, it would just be embarassing. All the spinning of this in the world can't ignore the probability that Nintendo did not launch the system, and intend to get shutout of big titles from big developers.
But other than EA and some handful of devs who don't know what to do with the dev kit, most of it is probably hogwash.
I may get White v2 to get primed for it. I've considered it long enough. I was hoping for a Game Boy release to test the waters, but who knows about that.
If the Wii got 'Bully', I'd be surprised if they neglected WiiU. This 'rumor' makes it sound like these devs are holding their nose at the stench of WiiU. We'll see the facts soon. These would be heavy hits though, and WiiU will get the rep of being a shovelWare kiddie box.
Please Nintendo, rock the VC like you've never rocked it before. This would be so much win.

The demo was enough for me not to get the game.
BUT...

Re: Peter Molyneux: If I were Nintendo, I'd Put Mario On The iPad
I can't say I would be stunned were this to eventually happen.

Re: Feature: The Neutered Malevolence of Animal Crossing: New Leaf
How many characters are available for the town name? Just curious because I may have to rethink 'Hooterville'. So far I've heard between 6 and 10.

200% completion every time. The only way to play.

@Epicnessofme99
If you like good drama with characters that are believable and engaging, you might find it interesting, and get absorbed in it.
Re: GungHo Online Entertainment's Market Cap Surpasses Nintendo's
This sounds like Puzzle Quest on my 3DS.

Bingo
Re: Video: Eight Reasons to Avoid The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct
The excellent Walking Dead point n' clicker is getting a sequel. That's where it's at. Not this mess.
Re: UK Mainstream Newspaper Declares 3DS The "Best Console Ever"
@hydeks
The PS1 produced my favorite JRPG. Still waiting on that sequel, Sony...
Re: Ubisoft Outlines Historical Context for Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag
Considering where the story was going since the end of the first AC, there is nothing strange about pirates here...
Re: Rumour: Tomodachi Collection: New Life Update to Remove Same-Sex Marriage
Can't blame Nintendo at all, being an unintentional glitch.

Crazy talk.
Re: Review: Pac-Man (Wii U eShop / NES)
Bonk bonk ba-bonk ... Played it alot on the Atari.
Pac-Man Championship Edition DX is my favorite version. A few twists to the game, and Pac-Man is epic.
Re: Swords & Soldiers 3D Arriving In The North American 3DS eShop Next Week

Yeah, I have it for PS3, too. The appeal is gone, so no double dip here.

Re: Dylan Cuthbert of Q-Games - Nintendo and Wii U Need a "New Super IP"
@JaxonH
Hey, the PS2 is hard to beat when it comes to RPGs. PS3 was a bit weaker in that area, though.
Re: Dylan Cuthbert of Q-Games - Nintendo and Wii U Need a "New Super IP"
@Ricube
Same for DS and PS2. All 3 sold extremely well partly because they were a pirate's dream. And not the peg leg type...
Re: Rumour: Rockstar Won't Be Bringing WWE Or Grand Theft Auto To The Wii U
And Mario, Zelda, Pokemon aren't milked?
That cow has got to be exhausted.
Re: C-Wars Smashes Kickstarter Stretch Goals to Confirm Wii U and 3DS Releases
Great for 3DS. Haven't played any RTS anything since Dawn of War.
Re: Ubisoft: Watch_Dogs Single Player Can Be Played "Completely Offline"

Yeah, and the PS2 console was still in production until Jan. 2013. Epic console. I'm going to buy another new PS2 down the line and store for backup.

Good for you Mr Spector. I like good game stories too! The best can rival many movies.
Re: Insomniac Not Working On Wii U, Considers It More "Current Gen" Than "Next Gen"
If it's coming to Wii U.. sweet, cool, awesome ok. If it's not... those games are garbage, they suck anyway, don't need 'em.
Disappointing, but predictable.

If WiiU can't even get a wrestling game, then it IS the laughing stock of consoles.
I just don't buy it.
Re: Watch_Dogs Team Aiming For "Nuance" in its Storytelling Approach
If it wasn't coming to WiiU, it would probably be called garbage.
Looks sweet, and pretty fresh.
