It has nothing to do with liking or not liking Nintendo games. Here's your problem... your made up definition of 'cash cow'.
Your quote - "Annually spitting out the same game with virtually no upgrade is a cadh cow."
Here is the definition I gave you.
My quote - "In business, a cash cow is a product or a business unit that generates unusually high profit margins: so high that it is responsible for a large amount of a company's operating profit"
My (copy paste) definition can be found. Yours cannot.
It's not a negative. It simply means a particular product that does unusually well, in relation to other products of that business. Mario, and Mario related games do this. Individually and/or as system sellers, which actually compounds it's cash cowishness.
No, all the titles he gave are valid. You don't even know what a cash cow is. It's not even a negative term.
In business, a cash cow is a product or a business unit that generates unusually high profit margins: so high that it is responsible for a large amount of a company's operating profit
I honestly don't believe it's sincere resistance to Nintendo branching out. We all know the tone would be different were this coming to Wii U, particularely were it an exclusive.
I'm guessing here, but it could be from his perspective, and others of like mind, that Nintendo machines are perceived as 3rd party duds. Therefore, the reason why it's often suggested they be the ones to jump to other platforms. Nintendo's unique factor is dismissed.
I like it. Superman and the John Williams score... awesome. The Justice League, great. But why so late game? It's disappointing that many of the characters are reskins of one another.
I LOVE the 1st Lego Batman. The unlockable characters were more fun to use. I give you Poison Ivy as just one example. In the 1st, she blew a poison mist from her mouth, but even better, she had the hilarious 'kiss of Death that never got old. Look how absolutely dull she is in the 2nd. And it was also pretty neat in the 1st to replay all the levels from the villains perspective.
I don't know if the Wii-U roster basically matches the other consoles, but it was easy to see DC Super Heroes was kind of rushed. The 3DS version has a superior roster.. 85 characters I believe.
Don't give up. I started out simply as a way of expression, and I didn't care if it sucked or not. Through time, experience just naturally grows from experimenting, and listening to other's music. With today's software, and patience with learning the software, anyone can find their own personal groove. Classic sense of musicianship is not required. Just express yourself, and the handy dandy software can clean up the rough edges.
This is also kind of cool because I've never owned a Korg synth, though I always kind of wanted an M1. I've owned an Ensoniq ESQ-1, SQ-1 workstation, Roland D-50, a Yamaha DX 11, and an old Roland Boss drum machine.
Well, now I can have something Korg related, anyway.
And you can get this, allowing for greater export options. And I'm sure there's other mobile music apps available for ipad, with more flexibility as far as apps go.
Darn, this would have been incredibly cool for composing on the go. I suppose it could still be useful to whip out and noodle out an idea. Inspiration comes from the strangest places. My folder is filled with a couple hundred VSTs, and they're all freeware (legal).
<-- Cheapo. Though I have been considering buying Microtonic for years now.
It's the random encounters in FF that can get very frustrating for newcomers. Trying to figure where things are, exploring, and you're attacked every 5 seconds.
How about G- Force: Guardians of Space? See, I had no way of knowing what these were really called when they were on television. These are some sweet ones I'd like to see, darn it.
I'm one of those people. When the PS2 news started popping, I wasn't really that excited, but when I heard I could play my beloved PS1 games on it, I was sold. Turned out to be my all time favorite console.
Sony confirmed PSN purchases can be honored through cloud. The ability is there. However, still no shift on the 'psn purchases will not be carried over' statement. Maybe E3?
Microsoft's new plan is hostile to gamers, but I do think it will be a device that can attract more casual 'all in one' types. Times are a changin'. I see it as having a perceived rep of more variety.

Sure.
Re: Activision Bringing Skylanders Swap Force And Call of Duty: Ghosts To E3
More than two cash cows. Are we forgetting king cash cows such as Mario and Zelda?

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Should Aim to Produce Mature, Genre-Defining Storytelling Experiences
Personally, my headline title for this article would have been 'The Last of Us skipping Wii U', for the lulz.
Re: Review: Ghosts 'n Goblins (Wii U eShop / NES)
I leave this one in the museum. Dark Souls satisfies my frustration desires. More rewarding, and prettier to look at while I pull my hair out.

Keeping seriousness and numbers out of it, make it happen!
Re: Ian Livingstone: Nintendo Should Have Their IP On Every Platform
People can have fulfilling game lives without Mario, believe it or not.
Mario vs Kratos in All Stars Battle Royale. Make it happen.
Re: Rumour: Third Sonic Game in Nintendo Deal Not Actually Coming in 2013
Well, lucky me. Having never played a Nintendo Olympics game, it would be some fresh fun on 3DS.

I did exactly this after the last review. Now I want to get some again.

These were previously Wii ware games. I didn't realise demand was so high for 3DS...
Re: Namco Bandai Is Bringing Barbie And Monster High To Wii U, Wii, 3DS And DS
I guess the rumors of these titles being announced at E3 as Xbox One exclusives goes out the window.

Yeah, yeah, we've cleared up my mistake before your lecture. Thanks.

Cool. How long is a GPU generation, approximately?
Re: Shin'en: Wii U Has Enough Power For Years To Come, GPU Is "Several Generations" Ahead of Current Consoles
@Grubdog
How long is a generation generally? What does 'several' imply to you? More than two I hope? Start computin'.
Re: Shin'en: Wii U Has Enough Power For Years To Come, GPU Is "Several Generations" Ahead of Current Consoles
"Several Generations" Ahead of Current Consoles?
Wii-U is neat and all, and I'm no techie, but come on. Good for around 25 years, huh?

Then THAT just raised the appeal for me, because then I have freedom to edit everything, and use custom VST sounds later. Thanks for the heads up.

Can you save as midi files with these things? It would be useful if it does, then I can work with the files on FL Studio on PC.

Final Fantasy whatever for PS4. That's all I know about. The preview was stunning.

Arkham City for starters, and other titles that generally get some good praise.
Re: Dying Light Set To Skip Wii U
@Ambassador_Kong
Gamestop stock has reportedly dropped a good 10 points. I do wonder if there is something to your theory...
Re: Dying Light Set To Skip Wii U
Sick to death of zombies, unless there's solid storytelling, ala Tell Tale's Walking Dead.
Sucky or not though, another negative for Wii-U. They add up.

Probably nothing. Stupid, silly life stuff getting in the way.
Re: Sniper Elite V2 on Wii U Lacks Online Co-Op and DLC
It's a good game, and playing elite is where it's at. Adjusting for wind and all that. The showcase is the slo mo killshot.

Wii-U holds lead for around two years, other 2 take lead there on out.
Re: Rewind, EA Is In Fact Developing Games For The Wii U
I almost wonder if Nintendo pleaded with them.
Re: Rewind, EA Is In Fact Developing Games For The Wii U
EA must believe Wii-Uers will buy all those 'crappy' EA games afterall.
Re: Poll: Do You Follow and Watch Rival Console Reveals?
You have to connect online every 24 hours or so to play a single player game. LOL
Deal breaker

Re: Poll: Do You Follow and Watch Rival Console Reveals?
The 15 exclusives is all I cared about really, but that alone doesn't compell me. They'd have to be something special.
Re: Poll: Do You Follow and Watch Rival Console Reveals?
Ok... 15 exclusives 1st year. That's the good stuff I'm looking for.
Re: Poll: Do You Follow and Watch Rival Console Reveals?
So far from the 'gamer' perspective, my socks aren't knocked off. The system can hold my hand, do my dishes and wash my car. Not what I'm looking for.
Re: Poll: Do You Follow and Watch Rival Console Reveals?
@SetupDisk
If the next Red Dead was an exclusive anywhere, I'd get it. Even if it was a Vita. Need my Red Dead.
