Re: Iwata Accepts Responsibility For Poor Financial Results, Ignores Calls To Resign

@JohnRedcorn I see your point but the difference is sports coaches can make immediate changes. It's a lot harder to bring in changes when you have a new-ish product on the market, especially one that you hoped would have a 5-6 lifespan. People hope for change when a new political leader is brought in, but they usually end up wading through the mess and red tape the previous leader had left in place, instead of actually enforcing changes for the better.

Re: Rumour: Smash Bros. Heading for a Spring 2014 Release

@IceClimbers I agree, but based on Sakurai's previous releases I think 2014 is quite optimistic. Regarding the rumoured Spring release, considering the game is still in development it's unlikely Nintendo could pull of the localisation and necessary promotion by then. I honestly think they'll stagger all major first party releases in future anyway, just in case there happens to be any third party delays (Rayman Legends anyone?)

I can't see it coming out anytime close to Mario Kart 8's arrival unfortunately, which is due by Spring if it's to fall within this fiscal year. Nintendo have made a point of spacing out releases throughout 2014, so that there's no repeat of the drought of games we saw earlier this year. We'll be lucky to see Smash before 2015.

Re: Review: 3D Sonic The Hedgehog (3DS eShop)

I played this from start to finish over the weekend, which was the first time in 20 years. I've dabbled with the various re-releases since then but this is the definitive version in my experience. Not the best Sonic game but easily worth the asking price. I hope we see other entries in the series get the 3D makeover.

It sounds like a lot of blood, sweat and tears have gone into these 3D classics. I'll definitely be showing my support by picking up 3D Sonic the Hedgehog later on. Now that the GigaDrive is in place they should be able to pump out the second series of 3D classics a little quicker than the first. Fingers crossed the hardware GigaDrive becomes a reality someday.

Re: Reggie Unmoved By The Threat Of $400 PlayStation 4

@theadrock13 That's true but Wii U sales will pick up in the next six months and with steady releases such as MK8 and Smash Bros throughout next year, I honestly think third party support will pick up too. Developers would silly to put all their eggs into the PS4 and XB One whilst waiting for the install base to take off, especially as the latter is pretty much out of the running at this point. Even if the Wii U only comes second in this generation's sales, it's still going to be a good investment for those developers who back it next year.

Power, power, power... That's all anyone says about the other two consoles. What good is power without creativity? Sure, your headshot might look slightly more realistic but it's still the same old game underneath. Pikmin 3 and Wonderful 101 are a brilliant showcase of what can be done with less power and way more creativity, and look how good these games look visually if that's all you're bothered about. They certainly hold their own against anything the competitors were showing at E3.
