Re: Talking Point: Using Glitches - Cheating or Clever Gaming?

Malkeor

Cheating to be honest. If it's a glitch, it wasn't intentional. By doing it, depending on what it is, can give you an unprecedented advantage.
(excludes 'game-breaking glitches')

I tend to play through the game normally, though if there's an opportunity to go back and try the glitch I will check it out for fun.

Cheat codes on the other hand should be done for fun, or if you don't really care about challenging yourself.
I used to do cheat codes all the time, sometimes they feel necessary for some old school games, but I did it just to have fun when they were so abundant back in the previous generations.

Re: Reggie: Wii U to Boast a "Full Range of Entertainment"

Malkeor

Eh...nothing really surprising. This was to be expected right? We all knew it was gonna be an entertainment hub....

Waiting for more surprising news and most importantly, details..

@8 and it saddens me because I think I mentioned I wanted the same up-scaling on some thread and was shot down saying they already said it wasn't going to happen. Which is a pity....I hope they reconsider...

Re: Millions of Wii Games Pirated in 2011

Malkeor

Pirating the Mario game just makes me sad inside....

Also pirating Xenoblade....of course angry fans, with no sign of the game coming to shores, have downloaded the game en-mass under frustration.
Now that the tabled have tipped in our favor it would be a good idea to support that game with our own dead presidents and show us we want more of these types of games through sales numbers.

Re: Nintendo Download: 8th December 2011 (North America)

Malkeor

@7: LOL!!

I might skip this one but I hope they continue to keep bringing in more games consistently.

@49: Well you see there are still a ton of possibilities for the VC. Tons of games we could have and play, and I guarantee people will be willing to buy.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's 3DS Press Conference

Malkeor

You know I certainly hope this will be a good start. We need high quality AAA software for the system. THAT'S what it needs.

The Vita is proving to be promising in areas Nintendo wasn't when it first launched and that's why it might have the upper hand.
I still think we need more software and titles from the Eshop from Nintendo.

And for those who said they love their RPGs so they have the 3DS....have you been reading about the games in development for Vita?
Seems more promising in the RPG department especially when we might actually see more JRPGs stateside on Sony's new portable.

Time will tell though.

Re: Tennis As a 3D Classics Release Was Way Out

Malkeor

Not only is Tennis a problem but the plan they had for 3D classics flopped.
It's very difficult to "redesign" these games, because that's what it feels like they are doing. Starting from scratch.

I really do hope we see more than a few games though...

Re: Talking Point: Wii U - Revolution or Evolution?

Malkeor

Yeah I don't care what Nintendo says, they are just building upon their old ideas, perhaps failed ones, and looking at the competition and seeing how things could be made better.

I don't know about revolution but...evolution is a better word if you look at the whole context of things.

Re: Tales of Graces Wii Will Not Be Released In the West

Malkeor

It's kind of sad because Tales of Symphonia was a best seller...
well at least a player's choice game.

If the JRPG could have the same quality and audience as in the past it would be wonderful.
And it still could if only these quality games (and I do mean quality) would be consistent and see a fair quantity of releases.

But anyway it's a good thing I have a PS3

Re: NOA: "Never Say Never," But No Plans to Bring Sought-After Wii Games to NA

Malkeor

This is BS.
Basically they are saying "Shut up...stop asking...don't set your hopes too high?...kay we done now? more mario and wii-esque titles on the horizon stay tuned! oh and ported 3rd party titles for Wii-U "

....
Please just listen to the fans. If you wanna start pleasing the hardcore, expecially RPG-starved Nintendo faithful, start NOW.

Re: First Impressions: Nintendo Wii U

Malkeor

Very honest. Thanks for this Corbie, I have been wondering what you thought of this new system for a while now.

The demo you seemed to have tried just seems like a brief display of just one of the things the controller could do with not much depth, but I heard that the other demos were much more enjoyable. Especially Battle Mii and Find Mii.

I do agree with you on reserving your judgments until we see full fledged titles that can actually show what the system can pull off, especially with the controller in its entirety.
I want to be excited for the Wii you....I still kind of am, but I want to hold off my hype until we have full details about the system, as well as launch line up and comes up and coming. Though you can't help but let your mind run wild and get excited for what could come as we get closer to 2012.

Re: Pachter: Wii U is Too Late, 'Dumbest Name Ever'

Malkeor

You know he's kind of right in some ways. He doesn't set anything in stone, because we don't know the price of the system yet.
His contrasting statements to the other consoles are fair as well.

I don't think it's right to bring the hammer down on Pachter, because he's only analyzing...that's what he does. And it makes sense to me.

Sure if this was revealed a little while ago, that would be a huge difference as well...so you know really, he's not all totally wrong. It would be a more powerful system, not in the aging sense. Then again you could say the same with some of the other console launches, about them being too late, or too soon (PS3), etc.

He even likes the console so...basically it's just looking at what else would be on the market and making estimates, and putting the many "what ifs" into the equation.
It's only "too late" if the innovation doesn't come up to par with the impact the Wii had on the world. Don't forget that the Wii was behind hardware wise, but Nintendo is all about innovation. It's the business plan.

I also must be totally passing over where he says he despises the Wii U name.
Besides, at first, wasn't a good portion of speculators kind of edgy when the Wii name was first revealed?
