Re: Reaction: Your Opinions on Nintendo's E3 Conference

Malkeor

@stuffgamer1Keeping secrets wasn't even a problem though for Nintendo...the fact of the matter was that things discussed during the conference were things we largely already knew about. No surprises...surprises get people excited for a system, it makes people hopeful for what's to come, and E3 is all about the show and the presentation...so it's alright to expect high hopes because that's what it is....a presentation aimed to get viewers as excited as possible.

I personally thought they showed to many games Ubisoft already touched upon, or should have left untouched because they already had their conference.ZombiiU was great though, and i'm glad they showed it, the trailer was a nice teaser for the Ubisoft conference, and gameplay and light discussion fit well and showed NIntendo and other developers were serious about the core.

Nintendo Land is all well in good...but it was over-saturated and too much time was spend on it. It's not good whenever I hear about NintendoLand I wanna punch it in it's face if it had one. And that was supposed to be the big game of the show? E3 is viewed by the core gamers...the people who visit forums and message boards and go online and are vocal in the community. Big final games are big surprises or big first party games/exclusive content...all this casual stuff doesn't fit with the E3 persona. It sells sure...but you have a whole other market out there you're trying to reach, expanding upon...and focusing that much on that game doesn't make the core gamers or the finally interested core crowd too confident.

Momentum was all wrong with the show, it coulda been an EXCELLENT conference...shave some time off the NintendoLand...please never show a sing/dance game on stage again, and instead shown us that Wario game or at least a small teaser for other games in development, JUST LET US KNOW IT'S COMING, and you got a deal Right now people are looking for reasons to get a Wii U and old third party ports are just bleh. ....but oh well. I could go on and on but i'll give my fingers a break.

Overall not the worst conference in the world, but it was underwhelming in my opinion.

Re: E3 2012: Wii U Pro Controller Offers More Options

Malkeor

Waveboy ..I honestly don' think traditional options are going away any time soon...besides we all grew up with it..it's not like it's all of a sudden obsolete and rubbish.
Remember this is just one of the control options you can have...you don't necessarily have to use it.

The touch screen and many features of the WIi U Gamepad are gonna probably be used by the majority of games anyway. And even THAT has tradition buttons.

I never thought someone would go bananas over a traditional controller OPTION.
Unless you're from many decades into the future, I don't think there's any reason to protest.

Re: Talking Point: The Critical Importance of Black Ops 2

Malkeor

It's not about the games at this point though...people are still going to look at the system and question the controller, specs, online, etc.

What they have to do to sell the 'hardcore' games they are bringing to the Wii U and show how it'll be better to play with that system.

Core players like this are used to traditional controllers, and they have to find a way to convince them that the first person shooters are going to rock the Wii U

It all sounds good in theory, but people are still gonna be skeptical and think it's too much trouble. They have to really prove it'll be a great experience.

More to add: Not only that...but the 3rd parties actually have to try to make it unique and fun.
Tales of the Abyss for 3DS....3D isn't even that good...at all. If you want people to be impressed you have to really bring out the system's strengths, show people THIS is the version to get, but if not that at least make it make sense and put some effort into using the main functions of the system.

Re: Review: Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir (3DS)

Malkeor

I think it's just frustrating that people can't play the way they wanted too.
But to make up for under-par cameras and turning the lights on....I mean the game can be fun, and not necessarily scary.
It's mainly disappointment overall though from what i heard.

Re: Nintendo Reveals New Super Mario Bros. 2 for 3DS

Malkeor

And it will sell MILLIONS!

I for one will buy it....I mean why not? 2D Mario bros. in 3D? Awesome I say.

Also i'm not burned out on these games like some of you guys

LOL at the people complaining. Remember, you vote with your wallet. These things sell MILLIONS, and they are going to keep making these sequels/similar adventures if you keep buying these games.

Re: Nintendo Download: 12th April 2012 (North America)

Malkeor

@43

That's not the point though. We could always "do this instead" but it's perfectly viable to release digital content when you have a humongous library of games at your disposal. Digital content is easy, I have a library in the palm of my hand....it's awesome.
It's part of what makes the eShop and other similar services attractive.

Though i'm still patient, i'm merely addressing my concern, and wish things would be better obviously.
Many are just hoping the digital trend in Nintendo will change...we don't want another Wii VC.
The service is still relativity young so there's still plenty of time....but it's still fun to judge

Re: Nintendo Download: 12th April 2012 (North America)

Malkeor

Man these last few weeks have been weak....
I have to concur with everyone else...there's just way to many games out there, and they should at least be able to put out at least 1 a week...just from Gameboy alone!

Though I understand there would be some issues with all this as have been with other games in the past....but I still don't believe it's giving them THIS much trouble.

Re: Podcast: Episode 22 - Heroes of Ruin and Super Mario 3D Land

Malkeor

A back and forth interview with a single topic is kind of boring to be honest.

And the monotone in certain parts of the podcast....cmon if you're trying to get us excited for Zelda there are better ways to do it.

Timestamps would be really cool too.

Of course that is if you ever read this and you decide to do another podcast

Re: SEGA Drops Four Sonic Games from Japanese VC

Malkeor

Things like this make people lose faith in digital downloads.
It's just going to cause paranoia in the future. People will be saying, "Hey sweet! But I think i'll get it later, I don't have time to play it right now, i'm low on cash right now..." Many reasons.
But then they'll be wondering when they'll disappear, constantly worrying it's going to go out.

Sure the early adopters had all the time in the world, but for those newcomers or those who have had the system for only a short while, and were greatly interested in the VC aspect....well that's just a darn shame.
