Honestly if i want pixel graphics, I just fire up the original not faux retro.
To me nostalgia is best when it's something half remembered you haven't seen or touched in 20 years. Cause generally nostalgia doesn't hold up when you play the real thing. 9 times out of 10 it's not as good as you remember.
@ShadJV Why ? I mean if I have very little interest in watching the movie, why would i give it a chance, instead of spending my time and money on something I do want to watch ?
Not everybody has the like the same thing. This is a childrens movie first and foremost.
I don't even like sonic that much I've always been one off those Tails fans. Yeah one of those weirdo's
That is usually why I wait for sales. It launched with a discount but I stil got burned At first i figured it had a learning curve, but no the game is just crap.
If the controls weren't so touchy and if the car didn't spin out of control if you breathed on it, I could deal with the slipshod AI and glitches But alas it is pretty much garbage.
Which is quite a feat when you consider all their success is mostly based on the Witcher 3. Here is hoping they can diversify cause there are people ( like me ) who aren't interested in The Witcher.
@Beermonkey Wreckout is a bit on the hard side, but somehow also absolutely hilarious with how the AI goes all out, and how in most races only a few survivors limp to the finish.
The controls are so twitchy, the slightest bump sends you careening in to a spin or in to the side of a track.
And the AI veers between EXTERMINATE and inept. Because the track is often littered with cars either spinning out or smashed in to each other in a pile or bumping in the sides of the tracks.
It would be hilarious, if I didn't pay 7 bucks for it.
Oh totally. I'd rather have those games too. And I'm hoping for the Panzer dragoon Remake to hit soon too And I did like Sonic R too ( mostly the music )
And by all means, if you enjoy Sonic 2 dont let me or anybody else's stop you But I am burned out on the 16 bit games.
But sanic is the easy choice cause its been ported so often already, so another port is easy and sanic is a known quantity. ( Not at all to do with the fact, that Sega ignores most of their IP's )

Re: Sludge Life Is Quite Unlike Any Game We've Seen, And It's Coming To Switch This Spring
@ERIC_MACK
Graphics in the end don't matter though its the gameplay that does.
And in most cases of the retro games, their gameplay doesn't hold up anymore.

Yes, it doesn't help that these days we virtually drown in ports of 8 and 16 bit games.

@tendonerd
And yet there are a bazillion ways to play this game already.
Including the free phone ports.
And everybody has a smart phone these days.
Re: NES Creator Reveals The "Shocking" Story Behind That Infamous Flap
@Obito_Sigma
Kinda falls flat though, when you consider that the Master system Megadrive, SNES and N64 all were toploaders and had zero problems.
Re: The Witcher 3 Polish Language Pack DLC Is Now Available On Switch
Polished to a sheen.
CD projekt RED is one of the few major developers and publishers that actually gives a damn about it's customers.

Re: Sludge Life Is Quite Unlike Any Game We've Seen, And It's Coming To Switch This Spring
Low-fi 3D
Kinda lost me there.
I am personally really tired of these retro throw back graphics.
if i want retro I'l fire up the real thing. And play the real thing.
I love quirky games, but I'm fed up with the retro graphics.
Re: Hotshot Racing Brings "Silky Smooth" 60fps Arcade Racing To Switch This Spring
Can't be worse then Speedway Racing.

Yes, I have it on the N64 and the Cube.
Cube version is a glitch fest.

No not my type of game

The 3DS Zelda remakes for a start.

Sega releasing anything other then Sanic and 16 bit rehashes ?
Don't be silly.

Yeah It's not worth 10 bucks.
Or even 7.

Rockstar and Rare wereare subsidaries

I would be happy with that version.
I don't care about the name Daytona, as long as its the game we all know brue brue skies and all.

Hell even the Saturn port plays better then this.
It might look like dog vomit, but at least it plays great.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl #31 - Ghosts 'n Goblins
They are all horrible.
Voted for the PAL cover mostly because the art is front and centre without a weird grid behind it.
Re: Review: Speedway Racing - Daytona USA Has Nothing To Worry About
@nessisonett
It's stil on the ps3 if that helps.
Or buy a Saturn with Daytona.
Anything is better then this travesty.
Re: Review: Speedway Racing - Daytona USA Has Nothing To Worry About
@andykara2003
Yeah like that will happen
It's just sanic and more sanic and 16 bit games from Sega.
Re: Review: Speedway Racing - Daytona USA Has Nothing To Worry About
Bought this game when it launched.
Regretted it 5 min later.
Calling it a Daytona clone is an insult to Daytona USA.
Re: Review: Speedway Racing - Daytona USA Has Nothing To Worry About
@Vriess
Cause Sega seems to think all we want is Sanic and 16 bit games.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (February 22nd)
Zelda OOT 3D on my 2DS.
I'm also thinking about hooking my wii U back up again.

Re: Reminder: Sonic The Hedgehog 2 And Puyo Puyo 2 Both Launch On Switch Today
@Ardisan
Just annoyed at Sega ignoring an enormous wealth of games in their backlog, for the usual 16 bit and Sanic rehashes.
Cause who wants their 90's arcade games on a home console ?
Nope, we want another sanic port
That's what we are clamoring for.
Re: Reminder: Sonic The Hedgehog 2 And Puyo Puyo 2 Both Launch On Switch Today
@Antonis427
I'llpick it up as a cheap dvd later this year
Maybe
Probably
( I got a lot of movies and series to watch.)

Re: Arcade Archives VS. Mahjong Is Your Next Retro Switch Fix From Hamster
Mahjong isn't my cuppa.
But Activision's Shanghai II is.
Re: Reminder: Sonic The Hedgehog 2 And Puyo Puyo 2 Both Launch On Switch Today
@carlos82
Mleh I am honestly so sick of Sanic and the constant rehashes.
I already have this game four times, I don't need it a fifth time.
...No I have it 6 times.
android
steam
megadrive
ps3
psp
and saturn
I'll play it on the bloody Saturn.
Re: Reminder: Sonic The Hedgehog 2 And Puyo Puyo 2 Both Launch On Switch Today

Exactly couldn't agree more.

Crazier stil that they can be half way decent.
Re: Nintendo Download: 20th February (Europe)
Oh look at that, no Sanic 2.
I'm sure untold tears wil be shed by that omission.
No word on Panzer Dragoon yet ?
edit: oh joy sanic 2 is out after all.
so much for tears
