Yeah, as you said Damien, I have a bit of concern with how the actual design will succeed in terms of having all these removable controllers and stuff. But, if it's done right it could be cool. It'll take some pretty impressive design though to get it right; that much I can say for sure. I know, because I've been thinking about all this crap since before the Wii and up until now.
If these rumours are true, it's almost as if Nintendo read my thoughts in articles like this:
And that's why I don't want to jump the gun here. Because, we're all jumping on Sega's back for screwing up the sound (and rightly so), but, if Nintendo only has the same quality of visuals as seen on the VC NES games, I personally think that would seriously be just as much of a crime.
So, here's hoping Nintendo actually knows better than that, and indeed, has more respect for us than that. . . .
@ThanosReXXX Yeah, that I am disappointed with. I mean, I could forgive these guys for getting it wrong on version 1 of the hardware, but it's a lazy and slightly taking the **** when they've still not done a better job five or so revisions down the line. Here's hoping Nintendo nails all that kind of important stuff right out the gate, both sound and visuals.
I don't actually mind the mini NES look too much, and it looks better now that I've seen footage of it, but I still think they could have gone with roughly the same design but without being an exactly mini NES replica with a faux cartridge slot and all. I do think it looks a bit like one of those cheep keyring type toys when you do it like that; or like something you might get out of a grabber machine. But, ultimately, I think it's fine in reality. It doesn't bother me too much now that I've seen the system a bit better. It's just the kind of thing I'd personally probably change/tweak slightly if I were in charge.
If I could mock up the kind of thing I have in mind I actually would, but, sadly, I'm not that good an artist. lol
@World Exactly, and while most people don't get it, Nintendo is missing a trick with stuff like this. Because, like you just said, you'd buy one just because. I might buy one too for exactly the same reason; well, the SNES Classic Edition, when that comes out, at least. But, Nintendo isn't going to get me with its current offering. Not that it's particularly bad; it's just not quite enough imo. So, that's basically a lost sale that didn't have to be a lost sale. And that's why I sense that Nintendo still doesn't quite get it yet.
@ThanosReXXX By the way, regarding not being able to make is mini if it had a cartridge slot: Well, obviously the Sega console above shows that it's entirely possible to shrink the console dramatically and still let it take the classic catridges. And, funnily enough, that's actually kinda the design I was saying Nintendo should have went for (in principle), rather than just shrinking the NES down to a kind of cheap plastic keyring version of it's former self (exagerration, of course). lol
@World Yeah, it will def sell in decent numbers. I do imagine it could have been something that would have appealed to more than just the same type of people picking up the Sega systems though, if it had been realised just a little bit better, i.e. with much of the stuff Sega is offering but to the high standards we expect from Nintendo. That could have been some pretty special indeed.
@premko1 Even without the homebrew crap it's still an additional ten games. But, regardless, it does have 50 games more, and that's just a fact. I wouldn't want Nintendo to include homebrew stuff, because most of it is junk, but I still would like to see a lot more games in there, just because it makes total sense for a system that doesn't allow you to add any more games after the fact, and, unlike the Sega systems, also doesn't allow to use the official cartridges either. So, in Nintendo's case, it just makes even more sense to include a higher number of games out-the-box imo.
@ThanosReXXX Read above. But basically, while I agree with your general points, I still think a few more games would make sense in Nintendo's case—specifically because it lacks the additional cartridge slot that the Sega system includes.
@faint And that's a good thing that Nintendo is going for a higher standard in general, but I'd still like to see it including a bit more in there for the price too. If it's not going to bother including the option to use combo wired/wireless controllers, and it's not inclined to add a slot to let people use their old NES carts—and it obviously doesn't make much sense to allow you to download additional games after the fact with a system that's entirely focused around plug & play simplicity either—I think the least it could do is add a whole lot more games in there by default. If it were exactly the same as it is now but came with 80 games (and a frikin' included power adapter in the UK version), even that would be closer to mark imo. But, I really do think that other stuff isn't too much to ask either.
@World Yeah, there's no reason Nintendo couldn't give us basically the same value proposition as seen with the Sega systems, but still up to Nintendo's usual high quality standards.
And, all these people saying the quality of the Sega systems is terrible: I bet it's not actually THAT bad—for fifty buck stocking fillers. Still, I wouldn't be happy if Nintendo cut corners similar; so don't even entertain that notion, Mr. Nintendo!
I mean, just look at the list of games that come preinstalled with these Genesis mini systems:
Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle
Alien Storm
Altered Beast
Arrow Flash
Bonanza Bros.
Chakan: The Forever Man
Columns
Columns III
Comix Zone
Crack Down
Decap Attack
Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine
Mya Master Mind
Skeleton Scale
ESWAT: City Under Seige
Eternal Champions
Fatal Labyrinth
Flicky
Gain Ground
Golden Axe
Golden Axe II
Golden Axe III
Jewel Master
Kid Chameleon
Phantasy Star 2
Phantasy Star 3
Ristar
Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi
Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master
Sonic & Knuckles
Sonic Spinball
T-Rex Memory Match
Yawning Triceratops
Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic the Hedgehog II
Sonic 3D Blast
Sword of Varmilion
The Ooze
Vectorman
Vectorman II
Mortal Kombat I
Mortal Kombat II
Mortal Kombat III
There are many genuine classics on there (and I even removed the 40 homebrew titles that are also included):
All the Sonic games, all the Streets of Rage games, all the Shinobi games, all the Mortal Kombat games, etc.
And, even more ridiculous, they actually think I'm being unfair in saying that the NES Classic Edition should have come with similar features and a similar amount of games too.
Sega's giving you a frikin' Genesis handheld with 80 games for fifty bucks here! So what if these systems aren't quite perfect; they're still offering you pretty great bang for your buck. And that's all I'm asking of Nintendo ultimately, a bit more bang for your buck.
Also, another thing to keep in mind: If the NX cartridges are 32GB, it means that every game from any Nintendo console, in the history of Nintendo consoles, takes up less memory that the amount available in NX carts. So, 32GB is nothing to stiff at; you can play any Nintendo can ever made within that amount of cartridge space. It does, however, mean there could be an issue with squeezing some of the games you might see from Xbox One and PS4 on the system. But, if it's around Wii U+ power as speculated, it's not likely to see many of those games anyway. It could technically support pretty much anything from the likes of Xbox 360 and PS3 though. So, that all seems to make good sense to me in terms of what the thing is trying to be.
@Henmii You can't possibly go backwards in power from the Wii U if it's already been confirmed Breath of the Wild is coming to NX and will have improved graphics.
It may not be as powerful as the likes of Xbox One and PS4, but it seems like it's almost certainly going to be at least Wii U+ level of power, which would be pretty much spot-on for a new handheld imo.
There is it. So, unless the editor interpreted Aonuma's comments incorrectly, I think it's safe to say the NX version of BotW will look at least a little better.
Here's something very important to keep in mind regarding NX: Whatever it's graphical capabilities, it can do at least Wii U level of graphics and presumably a little bit more, seeing as Nintendo has already confirmed Breath of the Wild will be on NX and also look a little bit better than the Wii U version.
So, if that all holds true, and the NX turns out to be primarily a handheld but with the capability to stream to TV like a standard console; then it's basically right in line with where I figured a device like this should be for the best all-round experience (given the realities of trying to create a machine like this and have it come in at a price that isn't totally absurd):
Basically, just past Wii U power, so it could manage all previous generations of Nintendo's games, right up to and including Wii U titles too.
"There are apparently no plans for backward compatibility, as a result of the different architecture being used."
But, it actually has to be able to play all those past games, at least via digital, or it's totally and utterly wasted potential imo, and likely a big enough blunder that it could actually set the system up to potentially fail right out the gate—it's that big a system selling feature (USP) as far as I'm concerned.
@rjejr I've been out all day because I was on a date.
For anyone that's interested: It went decent enough but I don't really fancy her enough to pursue it. Still, if she wants to meet up again, I figure I'll go for it.
It's actually mental how all of this stuff is playing out with NX. I am honestly still totally confused about what NX is going to be. lol
They're available on iOS and Amazon too, just in case you don't have an Android device.
Let me know if that's something that would be possible and if you'd be interested. They're along the same kind of lines as some of the other stuff you've published, and I really need to try getting them on some other devices but don't really have the ability to do so myself.
"There are apparently no plans for backward compatibility, as a result of the different architecture being used."
This part will be a major bad move if Nintendo isn't totally on its game and figures out a way to allow us to basically play all its older games at least via digital; and I mean MAJOR (certainly from this gamer's perspective). And I'm talking about all the Virtual Console stuff (from all it's previous consoles), all the eShop stuff, and even the likes of GC, Wii, and ideally even Wii U too. Oh, and if you already own any VC/eShop games, you really shouldn't have to buy them again either; you should be able to automatically play all previously owned VC/eShop games on this thing out-the-gate, via the whole "unified account" thing we've been hearing about for some time now. It's what Microsoft and Sony have been doing for a while now, and Nintendo REALLY needs to catch up in this regard.
So, one more time: This idea could actually be pretty amazing, of that I am very confident, but it has to be done right:
@NintendoFan4Lyf If it has the two detachable grips/controllers as speculated, it would work perfectly well with the likes of Just Dance. It would be just like playing with two Wiimotes.
@rjejr It's going to be interesting if this is basically what you said (I think it was you); interesting indeed.
As everyone in here probably knows by now, I genuinely believe NX being basically Nintendo's next big handheld, with the ability to stream to the TV so it can be used as pretty much a standard console too, could be something potentially very special—if it's done right.
Here's my previous thoughts on what I speculated/imagined NX could be (for the few of you that haven't seen this yet):
This just sounds like PR bull to me. I don't believe he really means anything he's saying. Or, more specifically, everything he's saying is said in such a way as to basically totally avoid saying what he actually thinks of NX. Let me put it this way: I don't believe Take-Two are working on any NX games right now, and that says it all really. But I guess we'll all know soon enough. . . .
It shows that Nintendo could definitely incorporate wireless controllers into a SNES Classic Edition, if that ever happens (highly likely). And, when I say "wireless" I'm really talking about controllers that could be used both wired and wirelessly just by unplugging the controller cable (choice, you see). You can get a better idea of what I'd like to see in a full SNES Classic Edition here:
This is one of the stupid flaws with Nintendo's VC service: Sometimes it actually makes sense to release a slightly different version of the original game. I mean, most of the time you obviously want these games to be just as you remembered them, but obviously there's rare times where it might be a good idea to have a little leeway just in case; this being one of those times.
And he's probably not wrong. Someone is likely right now selling the details of everyone who agreed to the terms & conditions and signed up to whatever services to use the game. This is something to consider when Google is even remotely involved, which it is (seeing as Niantic is just spin-off company from Google and Google directly and partly funded the development of Pokemon Go). And, it's not just about using your data to target a few specific Ads at you either:
Note: This is a proper award winning documentary, not just some home made video on YouTube. It's just being hosted on some random's YouTube channel so people can view it. It's also available on freedocumentaries.org, but for some reason they only have it in Spanish (or whatever language it is), which is just stupid. I'm pretty sure it used to be in English, which makes me suspicious at to why it was changed to a language most people can't understand.
@whanvee If you make threats of course you deserve to get caught; or, at least I don't have any issue with someone getting caught for making threats. I do, however, have an issue when the punishment doesn't fit the "crime". And, the problem with what you said is that we can't run a society based on oppressing everyone and making them live in fear of unfair punishments simply because we're afraid bad things might happen. We have to run society in such a way that we can prevent crimes where possible—real crimes—and also reasonably punish anyone who does commit a real crime. But, we also have to be very clear about what constitutes a real crime in the first place, and we can't just call anything we don't like a crime and leave it at that. That's not a truly fair, civilised, or free society; it's an Orwellian police state, and that's far more terrifying a world to live in than a world where there's a random chance someone might do something bad every now and then. Sadly, a police state is apparently what we're heading toward, and people like you are are at the front of the band that's marching us there.
@happylittlepigs Yeah, having basically won cases against both Warner Bros. and Rockstar North myself, I know the law can be made to work for you if you are the innocent party--as long as you know what you're doing with it. But usually only lawyers know that stuff--it's deliberately written so most human beings don't have a clue what it's on about--and I just don't trust them. Corporate laywers especially--boy are they slimy in my experience--I do not trust. lol
@happylittlepigs Well, you have a lot more faith and trust in the system than me, that's for sure.
I believe that business and money always trounces everything else at the end of the day, even though the forefathers tried to make it so that wouldn't happen. And, sadly, I actually think the US is one of the worst culprits of this kind of thing, along with the UK.
And when I watch those two clips I imagine the American and British flags waving around, and the governments brainwashing the masses into believing they're the good guys, when, ultimately, they're probably the worst of the buys guys, when you get down to the brass tax of it all (pun intended).
@Dr_Corndog Yeah, I never really played on computers to much back in the day, so I don't really recall this. My mate did though, so he probably got the floppies with the demos all the time.
@-DEMISE- Of course there's a difference between the specific cases. I'm not arguing otherwise. I'm simply showing that these corporations on the whole, and almost by their very definition, are not all nice and innocent as you may like to imagine, not even Nintendo. And I'm just saying that until Nintendo or Bitmap Books comes out and says it was all on the up and up, I'm calling foul play, or at least suggesting that a bit of money exchanged hands in order to come to some form of "agreement".
And, just trust me when I say that it's not my personal case(s) that have made me "manic" (although they certainly didn't help); it's what I have come to understand about the entire corporate entity on the whole in the last few years.
Nintendo's actions over the years, and certainly with some of its recent stuff like the whole YouTube debacle, tells me it's ultimately no better than any other large corporation. Money comes above all other considerations. And so, I will almost certainly come to the conclusion that anything it's doing revolves around the money over all else, especially in cases like this, until it has the courage and decency to tell me differently.
If it's the good guy then let us hear about it. If it's the bad guy then I want everyone to hear about it. And since we'll likely never know either way, likely intentionally so, I'm not giving it the benefit of the doubt. A corporation is not a person, it doesn't have humanity in its heart, only money. It does not deserve the benefit of the doubt; it has to earn it (no pun intended).
Again, these two videos sum up why I feel the way I do about all this stuff (about banks, corporations, governments, politicians, mainstream news media, rich elites, etc.):
Christ, even Mother 3 teaches us the same basic lesson too. If you've played it you will fully understand what I'm talking about.
People are trying to tell us the truth of this world constantly—which is the fact it's being ruined by capitalism, money, greed, power, control, banks, corporations, etc.—but most people are blissfully unaware of the truth. These people aren't making this stuff up. We're right to doubt the motivations of a large company like Nintendo in cases like this, even if it ultimately turns out it is all good and innocent this time.
But I say the burden of proof here is on Nintendo showing us it's the good guy, that's basically it's legal responsibility as a corporation, not me proving its the bad guy; it's my God given right to question those things in this world that I believe might ultimately be harming us all.
Of course, the red hair could indeed be part of the cause of all my rage against the system too.
@happylittlepigs Hey, I hear ya; and you're general attitude and outlook here is all good. It's just a little different to mine.
Maybe they do believe there is a genuine case. I'd love to believe that were the case (no pun intended). But, my life experience and a lot of digging into things has taught to be just as suspicious of the intentions of the "good" guys as those of the "bad" guys, especially when there's maybe an element of celebrity and big money involved (and Blizzard is a very big and rich "celebrity", as it were, with a lot of reach and influence across millions of fans).
We all have this inherent trust that the people protecting us are nothing but the good guys. Except, nothing is that clear or black & white in a society that is entirely governed by money, capitalism, profit, greed, banks, media moguls, corporations, etc. More often than we'd all love to believe, the people that are supposed to be "protecting" us are really just protecting their own self interests, and whole lot of them are just glorified servants of the corporate agenda at this point, especially the lawyers. I guess that's why the Devil was a lawyer in The Devil's Advocate.
So yeah, it might be getting taken further in this case because the guy's a genuine threat, or maybe it's just a real good case to send a message to a whole lot of people with. Put the fear of God in them as it were, and make them tow the line, less they too say the wrong thing. Better just to go to work, shut up, and get on with the daily grind.
I really don't know anymore—and I'm not going to call it either way—but I do question everything now, just in case.
@Dr_Corndog I imagine they were pretty cool fun. I probably did see them at some point. I just don't recall seeing them right now. I mean, I remember demo CDs on the covers of magazines sometimes, in the early PlayStation days and that kind of thing, but that was about it. Or is that the kind of thing you're talking about.
@-DEMISE- No, I don't disagree with the legislation; I disagree with corporations abusing it on a regular basis, which they absolutely do (and I know this for a fact, being one of the people WB tried to abuse with false claims of IP infringement, "passing off", and whatever other crap), and mostly getting away with it because none of us ever know any better, very deliberately so (even when they're matter-of-fact in the wrong they'll often just settle and then get everyone involved to sign an NDA as part of the settlement terms and conditions; which is precisely what WB tried with me).
So, again: If Nintendo is innocent then I invite it to say so. Let's put this stuff out in the open for once rather than it being all cloak and dagger. I'll issue a formal apology—just for the hell of it—if all it did was ask for a few cosmetic changes here and there and little more, and then dropped the case completely once those changes were made.
I also invite Bitmap Books to inform us of Nintendo's innocence and reasonability in all of this too. . . .
Until then, I'm calling it out just on the face of it—because, if it is guilty, it's not going to get away with it scot-free on my watch and just brush everything under the carpet, as it appears you're more than happy to let it do either way.
Note: When we came to a settlement, I specifically made sure that one of the terms of the settlement was that I actually could speak about the case, which is something WB's lawyers fought very hard to avoid for a long time; they tried to get the exact opposite clause into the agreement, so it would all be brushed under the carpet and their complete doucheness would go unmentioned. But I was having none of it. They were total and utter douchebags, and I have the legal right to say so.
Now, Rockstar North on the other hand . . . that one I'm not allowed to talk about. But you can probably work out how that might have went.
I wonder how many other people in the world aren't allowed to talk about it. . . .
Edit: Oh, and by the way—and this is something I can't prove either—but I think Warner Bros even paid some secret "agent" to call me a day or two before they filed the Trademark opposition, in a really sneaky move: I was called by a woman during the early hours of the morning asking about my recently registered Trademark and claiming she was doing a show on new games companies. She asked me if I would be willing to be interviewed on TV. She wanted to know how passionate I was about my business and how long I'd been running it for. Then she started asking about my logo and wanted to know why I chose the specific name and colours. She said it was an interesting choice. And then she said she'd get back in touch with me." and a day of two later the Trademark opposition letter arrived, and I never heard from that woman again.
So, ya wanna talk about dodgy dealings by these giant corporations; nothing is beyond them.
@-DEMISE- And, this is exactly what corporations like this count on people like like you saying. They file all these spurious "copyright" claims that end up getting "settled" behind the scenes and no one is allowed to talk about it, and all the ignorant sheep are left none the wiser that these corporations are being insidious *****. They basically get away with murder on a regular basis, and they use the very laws designed to protect the innocent to do this—and then have all the ignorant sheep minions fighting in their corner too.
This "agreement" that Nintendo reached almost certainly involves an NDA, otherwise we'd likely have been told already how the settlement was reached, just as matter of course (if it were all perfectly civil and painted each company in a positive light). So, why do you imagine no one is talking about the specific terms of the agreement?
If nothing dodgy happened here, let Nintendo and or Bitmap Books tell us the terms of the "agreement". If all Nintendo asked for was a couple of cosmetic changes and that's basically about it, it has nothing to hide. It would even make Nintendo look good, paint it in all kinds of good light, if it's all amicable and stuff and Nintendo's not fleecing these guys at all.
Again, all the signs that I see point to Nintendo being a bit of a douche here. If it's not, then let Nintendo fight its own cause. You're not its ******* corporate minion. Or maybe you are, in your own little way. . . .
@-DEMISE- Is it any more or less wrong to jump to the conclusion that it hasn't done anything untoward and/or just let if off if it has?
We don't know if it's in the right or wrong, but I'm not just gonna sit here a say ****-all in the hopes that Nintendo is innocent here because that's what makes the fanboys most happy to believe—and certainly it's what Nintendo wants me to do by default each and every single time it files a copyright claim.
Here's what we do know for a fact: Nintendo is the one that filed a copyright notice against the guys making this book. This resulted in their Kickstarter getting removed. And, as part of some "agreement", they've managed to do enough to get their Kickstarter reinstated—and that "agreement" may or may not involve handing Nintendo a share of the profits from each copy sold (or something along those lines).
If there's even a chance Nintendo is being a **** here I'm going to call it out. Now, since we'll likely never know either way, I'm calling it out. If I don't call it out now, there's a chance it will never be called out—and what a true crime that would be if it actually is the bad guy here?
Now, if Nintendo is the good guy here, let Nintendo defend itself—it seems all too willing to step up at even the slightest sniff that someone is ******* with its copyright.

@ThanosReXXX Exactly.
And that's why I don't want to jump the gun here. Because, we're all jumping on Sega's back for screwing up the sound (and rightly so), but, if Nintendo only has the same quality of visuals as seen on the VC NES games, I personally think that would seriously be just as much of a crime.

@ThanosReXXX Read above. But basically, while I agree with your general points, I still think a few more games would make sense in Nintendo's case—specifically because it lacks the additional cartridge slot that the Sega system includes.

"Still, it's fun to contemplate that - in a sense - the '90s console wars are being re-lived in miniaturised form."
That's kinda true. lol
Except, I was always fighting in Nintendo's corner back in the day; and here I'm actually fighting in Sega's corner (sort of).
Re: Mini Mega Drive / Genesis Systems On the Way to Cash In on Sonic's 25th Anniversary
Re: Mini Mega Drive / Genesis Systems On the Way to Cash In on Sonic's 25th Anniversary
@SLIGEACH_EIRE I can feel the shots striking my soft flesh already.
Re: Mini Mega Drive / Genesis Systems On the Way to Cash In on Sonic's 25th Anniversary
Nintendo!
Re: Mini Mega Drive / Genesis Systems On the Way to Cash In on Sonic's 25th Anniversary
I mean, just look at the list of games that come preinstalled with these Genesis mini systems:
Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle
Alien Storm
Altered Beast
Arrow Flash
Bonanza Bros.
Chakan: The Forever Man
Columns
Columns III
Comix Zone
Crack Down
Decap Attack
Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine
Mya Master Mind
Skeleton Scale
ESWAT: City Under Seige
Eternal Champions
Fatal Labyrinth
Flicky
Gain Ground
Golden Axe
Golden Axe II
Golden Axe III
Jewel Master
Kid Chameleon
Phantasy Star 2
Phantasy Star 3
Ristar
Shadow Dancer: The Secret of Shinobi
Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master
Sonic & Knuckles
Sonic Spinball
T-Rex Memory Match
Yawning Triceratops
Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic the Hedgehog II
Sonic 3D Blast
Sword of Varmilion
The Ooze
Vectorman
Vectorman II
Mortal Kombat I
Mortal Kombat II
Mortal Kombat III
There are many genuine classics on there (and I even removed the 40 homebrew titles that are also included):
All the Sonic games, all the Streets of Rage games, all the Shinobi games, all the Mortal Kombat games, etc.
Re: Mini Mega Drive / Genesis Systems On the Way to Cash In on Sonic's 25th Anniversary
And, people will likely still say I'm being unfair and unrealistic expecting Nintendo to do something like this for a potential SNES Classic Edition:
http://www.inceptional.com/2016/07/23/heres-what-i-want-from-a-snes-classic-edition/
But, I guess that's Nintendo fanboys for ya. lol
Re: Multiple Sources Outline a Portable NX With Detachable Controllers, Including a 'Base Station' for TV
Re: Multiple Sources Outline a Portable NX With Detachable Controllers, Including a 'Base Station' for TV
@gcunit No probs.
Indeed; let's hope.
Re: Multiple Sources Outline a Portable NX With Detachable Controllers, Including a 'Base Station' for TV
@Henmii You can't possibly go backwards in power from the Wii U if it's already been confirmed Breath of the Wild is coming to NX and will have improved graphics.
http://www.zeldainformer.com/news/eurogamer-confirms-that-botw-will-feature-enhanced-visuals-same-experience
It may not be as powerful as the likes of Xbox One and PS4, but it seems like it's almost certainly going to be at least Wii U+ level of power, which would be pretty much spot-on for a new handheld imo.
Re: Multiple Sources Outline a Portable NX With Detachable Controllers, Including a 'Base Station' for TV
@gcunit It was confirmed in an interview; I'm pretty sure of that.
Now I have to go look it up. . . .
Edit: http://www.zeldainformer.com/news/eurogamer-confirms-that-botw-will-feature-enhanced-visuals-same-experience
There is it. So, unless the editor interpreted Aonuma's comments incorrectly, I think it's safe to say the NX version of BotW will look at least a little better.
I really hope it does.
Re: Multiple Sources Outline a Portable NX With Detachable Controllers, Including a 'Base Station' for TV
Edit: http://www.zeldainformer.com/news/eurogamer-confirms-that-botw-will-feature-enhanced-visuals-same-experience
So, if that all holds true, and the NX turns out to be primarily a handheld but with the capability to stream to TV like a standard console; then it's basically right in line with where I figured a device like this should be for the best all-round experience (given the realities of trying to create a machine like this and have it come in at a price that isn't totally absurd):
http://www.inceptional.com/2015/06/26/heres-the-gist-of-my-idea-for-nintendos-nx/
Re: Multiple Sources Outline a Portable NX With Detachable Controllers, Including a 'Base Station' for TV
@rjejr I've been out all day because I was on a date.
For anyone that's interested: It went decent enough but I don't really fancy her enough to pursue it. Still, if she wants to meet up again, I figure I'll go for it.
It's actually mental how all of this stuff is playing out with NX. I am honestly still totally confused about what NX is going to be. lol
Re: Multiple Sources Outline a Portable NX With Detachable Controllers, Including a 'Base Station' for TV
@RCMADIAX Hey, if you can work with Game Maker Studio, how would you like to take some of my games and put them on NX (and even Wii U too)?
You can check them out here:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=iNCEPTIONAL&hl=en_GB
They're available on iOS and Amazon too, just in case you don't have an Android device.
Let me know if that's something that would be possible and if you'd be interested. They're along the same kind of lines as some of the other stuff you've published, and I really need to try getting them on some other devices but don't really have the ability to do so myself.
Re: Multiple Sources Outline a Portable NX With Detachable Controllers, Including a 'Base Station' for TV
So, one more time: This idea could actually be pretty amazing, of that I am very confident, but it has to be done right:
http://www.inceptional.com/2015/06/26/heres-the-gist-of-my-idea-for-nintendos-nx/
I'm not saying my idea is perfect, but something like that would be in the right track, imo.
Re: Multiple Sources Outline a Portable NX With Detachable Controllers, Including a 'Base Station' for TV
@NintendoFan4Lyf If it has the two detachable grips/controllers as speculated, it would work perfectly well with the likes of Just Dance. It would be just like playing with two Wiimotes.
Re: Multiple Sources Outline a Portable NX With Detachable Controllers, Including a 'Base Station' for TV
Here's my previous thoughts on what I speculated/imagined NX could be (for the few of you that haven't seen this yet):
http://www.inceptional.com/2015/06/26/heres-the-gist-of-my-idea-for-nintendos-nx/
So, I'm a believer in the whole idea of a primarily handheld NX with stream to TV capabilities. But, once again, it has to be done right.

And it's still the best Pokemon theme tune.
Re: Take-Two Interactive CEO is a Believer in Nintendo and the NX
This just sounds like PR bull to me. I don't believe he really means anything he's saying. Or, more specifically, everything he's saying is said in such a way as to basically totally avoid saying what he actually thinks of NX. Let me put it this way: I don't believe Take-Two are working on any NX games right now, and that says it all really. But I guess we'll all know soon enough. . . .

Re: 8bitdo And Analogue Interactive Team Up Again For The SNES Wireless Retro Receiver
Me like.

Re: The Definitive Version Of Super Turrican Was Denied A Virtual Console Release Back In 2008
This is one of the stupid flaws with Nintendo's VC service: Sometimes it actually makes sense to release a slightly different version of the original game. I mean, most of the time you obviously want these games to be just as you remembered them, but obviously there's rare times where it might be a good idea to have a little leeway just in case; this being one of those times.
Re: Three SNES Street Fighter Titles Heading to European New 3DS Virtual Console This Week
Nice.
Re: Hollywood Director Oliver Stone Brands Pokémon GO "Surveillance Capitalism"
And he's probably not wrong. Someone is likely right now selling the details of everyone who agreed to the terms & conditions and signed up to whatever services to use the game. This is something to consider when Google is even remotely involved, which it is (seeing as Niantic is just spin-off company from Google and Google directly and partly funded the development of Pokemon Go). And, it's not just about using your data to target a few specific Ads at you either:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HPw_hx7OME
Note: This is a proper award winning documentary, not just some home made video on YouTube. It's just being hosted on some random's YouTube channel so people can view it. It's also available on freedocumentaries.org, but for some reason they only have it in Spanish (or whatever language it is), which is just stupid. I'm pretty sure it used to be in English, which makes me suspicious at to why it was changed to a language most people can't understand.
Re: Two Men Sentenced Over 2015 Pokémon World Championships Gun Threats
Re: Two Men Sentenced Over 2015 Pokémon World Championships Gun Threats
@happylittlepigs Yeah, having basically won cases against both Warner Bros. and Rockstar North myself, I know the law can be made to work for you if you are the innocent party--as long as you know what you're doing with it. But usually only lawyers know that stuff--it's deliberately written so most human beings don't have a clue what it's on about--and I just don't trust them. Corporate laywers especially--boy are they slimy in my experience--I do not trust. lol
Re: Ninterview: Stu Brett On Putting Super Famicom Guy To Rest And His Next Venture, Ghost Arcade

Re: Nintendo Shares Slump Dramatically as Company Cites "Limited" Financial Impact of Pokémon GO
It's all mental.
Re: Two Men Sentenced Over 2015 Pokémon World Championships Gun Threats
@happylittlepigs Well, you have a lot more faith and trust in the system than me, that's for sure.
I believe that business and money always trounces everything else at the end of the day, even though the forefathers tried to make it so that wouldn't happen. And, sadly, I actually think the US is one of the worst culprits of this kind of thing, along with the UK.
I kinda always go back to these two clips:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuBe93FMiJc
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WibmcsEGLKo
And when I watch those two clips I imagine the American and British flags waving around, and the governments brainwashing the masses into believing they're the good guys, when, ultimately, they're probably the worst of the buys guys, when you get down to the brass tax of it all (pun intended).
Re: Talking Point: Free and Early Access Downloads Like Metroid Prime: Blast Ball Make a Lot of Sense
@Dr_Corndog Yeah, I never really played on computers to much back in the day, so I don't really recall this. My mate did though, so he probably got the floppies with the demos all the time.
Re: NES Visual Compendium Dispute Comes To An End, Kickstarter Resumes For Final 24 Hours
As JUST ONE example:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y888wVY5hzw
Again, these two videos sum up why I feel the way I do about all this stuff (about banks, corporations, governments, politicians, mainstream news media, rich elites, etc.):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yuBe93FMiJc
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WibmcsEGLKo
Re: Two Men Sentenced Over 2015 Pokémon World Championships Gun Threats
@happylittlepigs Hey, I hear ya; and you're general attitude and outlook here is all good. It's just a little different to mine.
Maybe they do believe there is a genuine case. I'd love to believe that were the case (no pun intended). But, my life experience and a lot of digging into things has taught to be just as suspicious of the intentions of the "good" guys as those of the "bad" guys, especially when there's maybe an element of celebrity and big money involved (and Blizzard is a very big and rich "celebrity", as it were, with a lot of reach and influence across millions of fans).
It's that whole thing about "Who will guard the guards themselves?" – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quis_custodiet_ipsos_custodes%3F
Re: Talking Point: Free and Early Access Downloads Like Metroid Prime: Blast Ball Make a Lot of Sense
@AlexSora89 Totally makes sense to me.
Re: Talking Point: Free and Early Access Downloads Like Metroid Prime: Blast Ball Make a Lot of Sense
@Linkstrikesback Yeah, I remember those. Those were cool.
Re: Talking Point: Free and Early Access Downloads Like Metroid Prime: Blast Ball Make a Lot of Sense
Re: NES Visual Compendium Dispute Comes To An End, Kickstarter Resumes For Final 24 Hours
PS. Here's an actual article on my case against Warner Bros. (just for fun): http://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/news/games-firm-boss-in-legal-battle-with-bullying-warner-bros-over-business-name-1-2590283
Re: NES Visual Compendium Dispute Comes To An End, Kickstarter Resumes For Final 24 Hours
Or maybe you are, in your own little way. . . .
Re: NES Visual Compendium Dispute Comes To An End, Kickstarter Resumes For Final 24 Hours
