@Einherjar Watching this makes you sad because you're a pompous arse. When you think about it, you don't NEED to know about old devices, no matter their original uses, to live and lead a happy life.
So this goes out to all the people that bash KIDS just because they don't know that the Game Boy existed nearly three decades ago. Grow up.
To this day I have never played a Klonoa title, but ever since watching online reviews of the games a few years back, I've been wanting too ever so badly.
I don't own a Wii U, but I do own a Game Boy Advance & Game Boy Advance SP. If I'm lucky (which I haven't been for a while), I'll come across this title sometime in one of my many flea market trips.
Nintendo knows what they're doing - these are the toughest times they've had in a while, but they'll be fine. Their future business ventures will help them out, I'm sure.
With that said, it's great to hear that they listen to us. We keep getting our consoles, our games, and we'll be happy doing our gaming. :B
I'd take it! I've been hoping for a localized version for us here in North America.
Unfortunately or anyone else, I don't think it'd get localized say, in Europe or Australia or anywhere else for that matter (because it's stuff from Japan, and stuff from Japan usually gets that exclusive treatment.)
Either way, if it came here to North America, I would buy it some time after it's release. The game looks decent, but I wouldn't pay 40 dollars for it.
I agree with all of this except for the fact that the Nintendo Life staff desire a digital-only handheld device - sure, it may seem like the future, but who's to say that the future is concrete? Who's to say that physical media on a handheld device won't stick with us for at least another generation?
With that said though, I get that that's their personal preference. I on the other hand, like many people here, love having physical media, since I'm a passionate gamer & collector.
Also, I would also love it if they kept the dual-screen design. I love it, and though I have no problem playing on devices with a single screen - owning all Game Boys, my phones & my PSP - I do feel that it has a purpose relevant enough to garner passing the torch to it's successor.
Other than that though, make the next system as great as the the DS family is, and I'm all Nintendo's again in the next generation of handhelds.
@armondo36 I hate to admit it, but that sounds exactly like what he's doing. It's too bad, I figured he was the type of guy that would step down if he felt the need to do so. Now I don't think he would even if the need was clear.
Tanjoubiomedeto, Game Boy! I love mine, but I need more games for it! It's unbelievable how good Game Boy games are rare around these parts - you always find shovelware, but rarely a classic, must-have title.
Slowly but surely though, the library builds up. I love all my Game Boys and always will! :B
It'd be an excellent move! EVERYONE loves Mario Kart, even those people that only play games like Call of Duty - get the whole family in one room, and everyone jumps in the go kartin' scene.
Well the man's right - the Wii U isn't exactly in the best of states right now. This could have helped stop the console from falling into the rut it's it right now. Be that as it may, Nintendo made a choice and unfortunately it backfired on them.
With that said, if Mario Kart 8 & Super Smash Bros don't help the Wii U in sales, I don't know what will.
They should release one similar to this in the future, but for a Super Princess Peach sequel. That would sell GREAT! Super Princess Peach is an awesome title. I think a sequel's due.
A reboot of the Pokemon Stadium franchise would be AMAZING. I don't own a Wii U, but if that were announced, I'd save up money and get one just for that game alone. I love the Nintendo 64 titles that much. Bring back that battle announcer, damnit!
I would buy it, but it's too far from my reach (and I'm broke). It's always great hearing about new games being released for such retro systems though. I love my Game Boys.
While I don't agree that Lost World is a disappointing disaster, I can't say I liked it much either. I own the 3DS version and really could never get into the game - I don't know what it was. The flow, maybe the level designs, the fact that I had to use the Colors Powers I didn't care for.
Eh. These fan-made games look great though. I love the classic Sonic titles, and having more of them is always a good thing. :B
I LOVE these articles. Unfortunately, the DK Country series for the SNES are a series I've never played before, since they were both before me and when I was just a waddling baby.
I have played DK Country Returns on the Wii though, and that's great. So I at least have an idea of what makes the original series great.
Rare was great; I got to play a handful of their games as a kid.
I'm gonna chase me down some Rare games for my N64. I've never played Donkey Kong 64 or Perfect Dark, for example - And I NEED to. I've already bought an Expansion Pack so I can play DK.
Boooomb after booomb after boooomb... this are just grim all-around! I'm beginning to doubt that Nintendo will be able to turn the Wii U around anymore. They did it with the 3DS (and I love my 3DS), but the Wii U is something different. I wish they didn't have this failure in their hands.
But honestly, if I had the money for a Wii U right now, I wouldn't buy one either. What would I play? The few Virtual Console games that I can already buy on the Wii and 3DS? The OTHER first-party titles that I've already played before (Super Mario Bros U, 3D World, Tropical Freeze)?
And then Wii U gets Mario Kart 8 and Zelda later on. They're all great games, but they're also tricks we've all seen before. I'm no industry business expert, but I'm pretty sure that some new franchises would at LEAST get them some momentum.
And that's just one of the problems Nintendo has, but I'm not saying anything that isn't completely obvious. I want Nintendo to succeed, I really do, but it just seems like they're sitting on their a--es with their arms crossed.
I hope Iwata's "strategies" bear fruit. As a lifetime-long Nintendo fan and supporter, I'm really starting to get tired of all of these negative stories.
This is more success than I thought the game would have, that with the slams it received from reviewers all over the net. But hey, it's nice to hear that the game wasn't a total flop. I've played the 3DS version and can't say I like the game much, though. Much prefer me some classic titles on the Master System, Genesis & Game Gear. :B
I've played little to no MegaMan in my life - I need this game! If I haven't gotten around to playing the originals, the least I could do is play a spiritual successor. :B
The leaders of the company should feel the ache of a struggling company. So I'm glad they did this. It serves even more as a wake-up call than ever before. Good job.
The Wii U isn't going to become very successful, unfortunately. That's been my prediction for it since after it started failing. And that's too bad, it's such a wonderful little console; it just needs MORE software and more awareness.
Come on, Nintendo. You can get out of this rut. :B
@Peach64 Wow, you take your stuff REAL seriously, don't ya? :B
We as Nintendo fans are so tired of hearing the Nintendo-doom stories, and as such it IS good news, believe it or not, that the sales of the Wii U are improving over time, even if at a slow pace. Yes, Nintendo's earlier home consoles did better overall up to this point, but even THAT may change with time in future sales info.
Though I've never followed Capcom's titles too closely in my life, I've got to say that this sounds amazing. Talk about technological innovation! Good for them!
I'm in favor of ALL of these concepts. Particularly Metroid Prime 4 (though I don't own a Wii U and have only played part of the original Prime), Fire Emblem: Anthology (since I've never played a Fire Emblem title, though I'm keeping awakening in my 3DS wish list and getting it somewhere down the line), and F-Zero AGX (since my life has much lacked F-Zero goodness; I can't seem to find 'em used in my swapmeet trips.)
Also, that Rosalina mini-game sounds interesting, as does... I'd be ranting even more if I kept going, so I'll just say I like all of these ideas. Some more than others, but all regardless.
I think I've only used King Dedede about twice in my entire life, but hey, I'd be more than willing to practice with him now that he's making a return.
I don't care if it makes reference to Pokemon; this video is awful. Now add in the audio, and it's plain atrocious. I couldn't finish it, it's just that bad.
She looks excellent, as all characters do so far. That's what HD will do to a character!
I'm as puzzled as anyone is as to why they're using the Twilight Princess Zelda. Some people have stated that it's due to time constraints & easy porting, but I don't know. Maybe they DO have some trick up their sleeve with this.
But like others have also said, here's to hoping that we get alternative costumes! I'd love to play as other Zeldas. And I'm also a monster with Sheik, so I hope that characters makes a return too. :B
I used to have a Model 2 Sega Genesis, complete with the SEGA CD attachment and a few games. This one was one of them, though it was the CD version - I didn't get to play it because I lacked a power cord at the time, and didn't know that retro consoles & accessories were so readily available in my area.
My mom made me throw it away, insisting for months on end that it was just garbage I had stored away and that I'd never use it. One day when we were cleaning, I had enough and I threw everything away, including this game.

@Frapp Get the Mario Clock? Though I'm with you, that feature should be free. Even if not as good-looking as the Mario Clock.

These Miis blow. I honestly thought Samus was Rosalina.

Which is what us 90's people (and those older) say about our own days. This reminded me of any humorous game commercial from the 90's. Great stuff.
