Re: Wii U Hardware Still Being Sold At A Loss

JuanitoShet

I'm with Nintendo. I'm a firm believer that the Wii U does not need a price cut; all it needs is the software. And the ball has been pushed, because Pikmin 3 was just released, and this is where the steady stream of great games will start. Nintendo themselves said it, and there's not reason to doubt them.

I sure don't.

Re: Nintendo Most Likely To Produce Gaming-Centric Tablet, Says Game Designer Jesse Schell

JuanitoShet

Before the Wii U launched, I had originally misunderstood that the GamePad WAS portable; I had thought that it doubled as a home console and as a semi-portable device. I imagined buying one, and taking the GamePad with me to game anywhere.

But of course, the GamePad is quite large compared to the 3DS and handhelds of the past. And all it would take to make it possible does, of course, provide a technical challenge.

But hey, I think it would be an awesome product. I think there are people out there who would agree with me that having a truly portable home console in the shape of a GamePad would be awesome.

Re: Nintendo Most Likely To Produce Gaming-Centric Tablet, Says Game Designer Jesse Schell

@LunaticPandora They themselves have said it: the games are coming. Starting with Pikmin 3.

So yeah, the games ARE there. They just haven't arrived yet. Wait and see as they prove you wrong. No company invests millions and millions of dollars on a device just so people won't buy it. Business doesn't work that way.

And we're talking about the company that almost single-handedly revived gaming decades ago. Remember that.

Re: First Impressions: Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures (3DS)

JuanitoShet

@Bass_X0 There's nothing wrong with a character used to try out other genres of gaming. However, you mention Mario & Sonic as examples, but they're more iconic gaming characters now, and all the spinoff games they've been a part of over the decades have actually been decent. With a few exceptione, of course.

Pac-Man, on the other hand, hasn't had that success simply due to the poor games he's been forced to be a part of. The old Pac-Man World games are probably the only good titles he's starred in that aren't the classif & Championship Edition.

Re: Review: The Smurfs 2 (Wii U)

JuanitoShet

I had the misfortune to watch the first movie in theaters. Never watching it again, and won't even give this one a chance. This game looks as generic as the new "Hollywood" stink that these new movies unfortunately reek of.

It's too bad. I love the original cartoon. I find it a crime that a video game adaptation of this movie exists. And I'm usually not one for overly-cruel comments, but I feel this one deserves it.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Financial Results Tell a Tale of Two Systems and Bold Ambition

JuanitoShet

Yes, the console is indeed indeed in a tough spot, but if they were able to completely turn the 3DS's circumstances around, who's to say that they can't do the same with the Wii U? It's not the first time a home console has been in this position, and as history shows, in the end yhe consoles managed to end up selling tens of millions of units (looking at the 360 & PS3).

So iif you think Nintendo will rule out the Wii U after it's disastrous state, you haven't seen ehat they can do. The 3DS is all the proof you need for this. :B @PokeTune

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Financial Results Tell a Tale of Two Systems and Bold Ambition

JuanitoShet

@tchaten Believ it or not, there was actually an excellent article about this same topic over at IGN, with the author stating similarly solid information and key valid points, all ending in the rather positive conclusion that Nintendo itself is not in trouble, only the Wii U is.

This article itself was top-notch though, as is always the case with NintendoLife content. Great job guys.

Re: Nintendo Feels That Working On Smartphones And Tablets Would "Decrease Brand Value"

JuanitoShet

The thing we can all agree on is that no matter WHAT Nintendo goes through, or what they do with their consoles & software, there will ALWAYS be someone out there throwing doubt & gloom-&-doom stories and criticisms their way. Those people just can't help it, it seems.

No matter, us loyal Nintendo fans feel & know for a fact that it would take much more than all of this negativity to take Nintendo down. Though unfortunately, all of these stories do get tiring and annoying to listen to.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Is Shaping Up To Acquire Troubled Atlus

JuanitoShet

I've never (and I do mean never) have followed Atlus closely, but there's a reason they have the following that they do, and I think that Nintendo would be the perfect company to incorporate them into themselves. Like Hunter-D above me states, it would only help their name spread, and I'm confident Nintendo would be the perfect company to spread said name.

This would be awesome.

Re: Review: Super Mario Bros. 2 (3DS eShop / NES)

JuanitoShet

I spent many hours playing this as a toddler on the NES. I don't remember what happened to that NES or to this game cartridge (or any of the many that we owned at the time), but I definitely miss it, it's a great game.

I wouldn't mind getting this from the VC someday just to revisit this gem.

Re: Feature: Taking A Look Back At The Nintendo 64 Rumble Pak

JuanitoShet

I bought the Rumble Pack (without the battery cover, unfortunately) on one of my many trips to the local swapmeet over half a year ago, I think, and it's awesome. I've only used it a couple of times, but it cost me next to nothing (30 Pesos; that's about two dollars), so I think it was definitely worth the purchase. Especially since most of the titles I own for my Nintendo 64 support it.

Re: Soapbox: Why Region Locking Is A Total Non-Issue

JuanitoShet

I've never imported a single game. I've onlt ever owned ONE imported game, which I bought from a friend... for the GAME BOY. (Wario Land). But that's it.

I don't really care about region-locks, 'cause like you've said, I have more than enough games, both retro and modern, that I can purchase here in my area.

Re: Not All Super Smash Bros. Characters Will Make The Leap To Wii U And 3DS

JuanitoShet

It WILL disappoint me to see some familiar faces not in the new roster, but I'll get over it quickly and enjoy the game to the max like I always do.

Besides, if I want to play as some of the characters that won't be in this 4th iteration, I'll just play any of the first three. I keep my consoles, after all, and I love all of the games. This won't be a problem.

Re: Review: Sonic the Hedgehog (3DS eShop / Game Gear)

JuanitoShet

This is an absolutely FANTASTIC game. I would know, I own a SEGA Game Gear (yes, it works, believe you me!) and an original Cartridge of this game that's in excellent condition. Not that I like to brag... :B

No, but seriously, for those who haven't played this game before, BUY IT. You won't regret it. It's challenging, it looks & plays great, and most importantly, it's FUN.

Re: Feature: A Brief History of Pokémon - Part One

JuanitoShet

I'm pretty sure I'll ALWAYS be a Pokémon an. I've been so since as far as I can remember.

My first game was Yellow, I think, and I played it on my Kiwi Game Boy Color. A relative of mine had Red & Blue, so I got to play 'em all.

The first Two Generations will always be my favorites, 'cause they're the ones I've played the most, especially as a kid. Lots of fond memories that reallu touch home.

I love Pokémon.

Re: Rumour: Rockstar Won't Be Bringing WWE Or Grand Theft Auto To The Wii U

JuanitoShet

@gavn64 And that's all just a matter of opinion & on-screen character acting. Phil (Punk) doesn't think he's the best in actuality. I personally think he's great all-around, but I would give Bryan the edge when it comes to perfornance in the ring. I'm a huge fan of both though. :3

That said, I hope Wii U owners do get their WWE games. Even though most aren't fans.
