Prime 1 should take you somewhere around 20 hours to beat first time plus or minus a few hours. It is completely normal to struggle with some of the boss fights. Prime 3 is a few hours less than that thanks to things like restarts directly from the boss fights and being a shorter and easier game in general. I think what @AstroTheGamosian is trying to say is that it took them less than 24 hours to 100% prime 3 and that it must be less than 24 hours to beat prime 3.

Prime 2 is the longest of the three as it is the most difficult and has lots of backtracking. I would say 2-5 hours longer than prime 1.

Re: Metroid Dread Is About To Become The Best-Selling Game In The Series

@Rykdrew @Pikman
This is assuming that the user base grew relative to console numbers which is not necessarily the case. Likely the user base may have doubled or more, but it has not quintupled, so sales based on the fans’ parts are not that much weaker than Prime. It may also have something to do with MercurySteam haters and/or 2d game for the AAA price tag like Rykdrew said. In theory it’s a lot easier for consumers to justify buying Prime.

I mean, retro studios said it would be very hard to convert prime 3 to button controls because of how everything within the game is designed, but I don’t see why Nintendo can’t put both prime 1 and 2 into a package or just leave prime 3 with motion controls. It literally makes no sense if this is true.

Yeah for whatever reason critics tend to diss on prime 2 in favor of 3, but it seems that most people (myself included) believe that prime 3 is a little iffy. The atmosphere isn't as good and the game isn't quite as well designed. The worst part of the game is the first couple hours, so I encourage you to push through and make it to Skytown where the game just gets better. Nun-chuck controls are a little frustrating, but if you can look past what it doesn't do so well you can see how the game holds up even compared to the other two games. I had trouble with the first bit of prime 3, but once I got to the good parts I couldn't stop playing. 😃

I first played corruption in veteran mode because I had heard the difficulty was rather easy. Mogenar was probably the worst boss in the game for me. Not too bad though, you really have to use different strategies each time around. It’s generally best to destroy his weak points one at a time, so that he can’t regenerate them. Then just try to avoid his attacks, so you have as long as possible to wear him down. Make sure you have all the energy tanks you can get as that really helps in this run. I would not recommend starting over as there is a lot you would have to do over again, and missing a scan is not the biggest deal. Plus, right after Bryyo you get to one of the best parts of the game: skytown.

Re: Feature: Our Most Treasured Zelda Memories

My first Zelda memory (actually one of my first video game memories) was watching my brother play Twilight Princess. He swung Link’s sword and rode across the land on Epona like it was an art. I also remember the day we first got Skyward Sword on the Wii and we were so gosh darn excited to play it that we immediately rushed downstairs and started it. Great memories from some of my favorite video games!

Yeah, I figured out that the prime trilogy was easier. Normal on GameCube is equivalent to veteran on trilogy. Echoes is definitely harder in veteran difficulty. I also think I was more experienced going through echoes than when I was first playing Prime 1. Now I’m working on Prime in hypermode and getting through the Phazon Mines. Not easy!

Where did 3d world come from out of nowhere on this list? It’s pretty fun, but like come on guys, is it really number 1?

I definitely put Galaxy as my number 1, beautiful worlds, beautiful music, best overall game in my opinion. Galaxy 2 fixed most issues with Galaxy 1, but I still like Galaxy 1 just a little better.

Finished Metroid Prime 2 and loved it, now working on Prime 3. Though something about Prime 3 really bothers me - it feels way different from the other prime games, but I just can’t place it. The music isn’t quite as good and it doesn’t give me those secluded vibes Metroid is known for.

Re: Feature: A Link To The Past's Dark World Changed Zelda Forever

I have been playing Metroid Prime Echoes and that utilizes the dark world in a totally different way than Alttp. Though, alttp probably gave some inspiration; it’s an amazing game and probably my favorite Zelda game. The 2d is just so classic and fun to play. I agree that there is definitely no ā€œhand holdingā€ going on. It requires a lot of exploration, which is part of its charm.
