Re: Review: Metroid Prime Remastered - A Long-Awaited And Stunning Return Of A Legend

@GrailUK
Appreciate the time you took to answer my question. It’s clearly a great game as it gets amazing scores across the board.
I’m very early (1.5 hours in or so) and I’m still very much finding my feet on how the game works.
I hope I get as much enjoyment from it as you clearly do.
Oh and Halo combat evolved was a 10/10 on release in 2001 (I think it was)
Blew me away and I’d never seen anything like it.
They’re clearly both exceptional games in their own right.

Re: Poll: What’s Your Favourite New Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC Track?

Hurblyburbly

I absolutely love Mario kart and one of my first ever games on the snes was super Mario kart which ignited my gaming habit.
Likewise Mario kart 8 deluxe is such a fantastic complete package…
These new DLC tracks however are unbelievably bland.
Looks like Nintendo have made minimum effort to get maximum profit and have just stopped caring.
I personally won’t be purchasing atm and if the rest are like this it’s a no from me……gutted.

Re: Soapbox: Paper Mario: TTYD Is 17 Years Old Today, But It's Still A Masterpiece

@Euler
Just to correct you most Wii’s do not play GameCube games.
I bought a Wii last year for the duel purpose of it being able to play GameCube and Wii games and it’s only the early models that have this capability.
After that they switched the models and they can only play Wii games.
Just for anyone who is considering this option.

Also on a side note I spent about £120 on TTYD at the same time.
Steep price for sure but personally Nintendo don’t pander to what the fans want and Im not sure this game will ever be remade again so copies will only ever go up in price.
Lastly (and my opinion only) I thought the Origami King was very bland and although looked pretty wasn’t anywhere near TTYD and super paper Mario.
I sold my copy after playing around half the game.

Re: Poll: Metroid Dread Is Out Today On Switch, Are You Getting It?

Hurblyburbly

Genuinely torn whether to buy this.
It gets great reviews and looks really interesting but I’ve never played any Metroid games (despite owning every Nintendo console since the SNES).
I’ve never played Hollow knight and have dabbled with Ori (which I enjoyed but got stuck).
Don’t know whether to chance this or not?!

Re: Review: Super Mario World - Phenomenal Platforming Perfection

Hurblyburbly

This game and Super Mario Kart got me into gaming in 1992.
I was 18 at the time. Went round my brothers friends house and he was playing Mario kart.
I’d never seen anything like it and on playing it and SMW I was utterly hooked.
Went home and within a month I’d bought a SNES.
I’m now 47 and still love Nintendo and gaming as a hobby.
Thought I’d have “grown out of it” by now but let’s be honest you never grow out of our wonderful hobby.
It’s just too much fun 😁

Re: Spelunky 1 And 2 Listed For 26th August Release On Switch eShop

@Teksetter
I bought both of these on PlayStation not too long ago.
As recommended definitely get the first one and if you like it the second later.
Be aware also these are undoubtedly excellent games but I’m not lying when I say they are the hardest games I’ve ever played.
As long as you’re ok with that then it’s fine but for most average gamers progression is slow as you’ll die over and over!

Re: After Months Of 'Switch Pro' Rumours, Nintendo Officially Unveils The Nintendo Switch OLED Model

Hurblyburbly

I consider myself a salesman’s dream tbh.
I have the PS5, Series X and the Switch.
There’s zero chance of me feeling the need to buy this.
Nowhere near enough of an upgrade for me to part with my money and in all honesty I feel like Nintendo are having a laugh with this.
So little has been upgraded yet the expectation is for the consumer to spend another £300.
I’ll stick with the original Switch until they give me a proper reason to change.
Genuinely don’t understand anyone that already owns a Switch being tempted by this but we’re all different.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of The February 2021 Nintendo Direct, Then?

Hurblyburbly

@Ludovsky
Appreciate the response that you’ve clearly thought out and have knowledge about too.
You obviously make valid points but the likelihood is even with anniversaries all we’re going to get is a bunch of games that have been out previously and have been given a coat of paint and then they charge £50 for them.
This doesn’t really cut it with me tbh.
The switch is fast becoming a console of old games ported on to it as it’s so successful.
I just want new games of some games the great franchises that Nintendo have made over the years.
Where’s?
Metroid prime?
F zero?
An actual new Switch Mario kart and not a port.
Maybe Mario strikers?
A new switch Sports game (similar to wii sports)
I’m sure there’s loads more that I can’t think of atm.
It would be nice to have some new titles to look forward to. That’s all

Re: Zelda: Skyward Sword HD Hits Switch This July Alongside Themed Joy-Con

Hurblyburbly

I just will never understand Nintendo.
Possibly the most frustrating company on earth to support....
They’ve so many loved franchises that people are desperate for and what do we get?
Mario Golf, yet another splatoon and an old Zelda game and a bunch of games i have zero interest in.
I’ve been a fan since 1992 when I got my first Super Nintendo and an now in my mid 40’s so I should stop having high hopes for their announcements.
Just give me a NEW Mario kart already!
