@Rpg-lover I have never played a Platinum game. Should I start with this one? The combat looks great, I just have never gotten around to play any of them.
Went to Target this afternoon and got my copy. The display was completely full and they were keeping copies behind the cash register. Don't know how quickly it will sell, but I think there are probably more copies than what people think.
Half way through Assassin's Creed III. I haven't played an Assassin's Creed since the first one. I haven't played many Ubisoft games, so I am not getting that 'Ubisoft burnout' just yet. I am surprised how fast the time goes by playing it despite it not being a great game. It is enjoyable, but mainly 'meh.'
The recent Scott the Woz video on the Wii Super Mario All-Stars makes me feel like the limited release window doesn't matter. Also, the video makes it more apparent how half-baked the product is. Granted, I am still going to pick it up.
I know we have to wait for more details, but....will there be a bunch of characters outside of the champions? I haven't played the original Hyrule Warriors or other Warriors games, but I thought part of their appeal is the variety/ customization in fighting styles.
Also, wondering how they will have the mission selection. It would be interesting if it was semi-linear. Having different branching decisions could add another layer of replay-ability. That would also keep the spirit of Breath of the Wild's freedom of doing what you want when you want.
Was feeling in a bit of a funk today. This lightened my mood completely.
Many memories of Mario 64. My cousin had the Gamecube, and I only ever saw him play a little of Sunshine. Haven't played much of Galaxy. So....I know I will get and sink many hours into this.
I have been contemplating an arcade stick for several months now. Kinda want to wait for reviews before ordering. Who knows how long next shipment would take after these initial pre-orders though. Covid could potentially muck-up any later shipments.
Also, been trying to do a running tab on the games that I have that only use one type of directional imput (d-pad or single joy stick) at a time. The controller could change up the player experience enough to merit a revisit to some games.
I have so many fond memories of playing Tiger Woods on the Wii with my brother and dad. We did not follow golf at all, but it was one thing that brought us all together on the weekend. I hope they patch in motion-controls at some point. Doubt they would though. Don't know if it would have the same kind of magic without them. I know that nostalgia is strongly influencing how I feel about this game. Is it worth giving a shot? If anything, will probably wait for a sale.
Hoping to dive back into Dragon Quest XI S. The weekend is usually my time to catch up on podcasts. JRPG's are good games to play while a podcast is in the background. Grind a bit, and then pause the podcast when doing main quest.
@Ooyah I remember when that game came out, but I never got a 3DS. Thought about picking one up. Missed my chance with the mario kart bundle walmart had at the beginning of Summer. Elite Beat Agents is definitely on my radar. One of these days I will eventually get a 3DS.
I love this game. Even though it has a higher price, it is totally worth it. I never liked rhythm games until I played this one. One of my favorite genres now. It feels really rewarding the more you play and master each level.
I recently re-downloaded onto my switch and there was an update. It feels completely different now. There are parts that have been sped up, others slowed down, and they cut some of the content. Some of the cuts make it feel a bit choppier. The updates made it slightly easier too. It is good that a developer updates a game based on player feed back, but I do not know if I like the update. The game feels different. I wish there was an option to switch to the original version. If you haven't played it before, you would not know the difference though. The sound track is still amazing.
Started playing Thumper and Runner 3 after Wild Hearts. Any other rhythm game recommendations?

@JasmineDragon alchemy is really helpful for getting strong enough for battles. It sometimes makes the battles too easy though.
Looking forward to the next game in the series.

Almost done with Celeste and Bioshock Infinite.
Anybody have spooooky game plans for Halloween in a couple weeks?
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 10th)
Finished Mario Galaxy last night. Started playing Celeste for the first time. I can see why it gets so much praise.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 19th)
Haven't played Mario 64 since it came out. Replaying it is making me realize just how bad at video games I was when I was 6.

Did any one else notice the name of one of the players in the trailer for this game? Classic...

@Steelhead Puppies during the pandemic are the real doom slayer.
Just finished Doom 2016 last night. so good. It is definitely a game worth going back to in the future.
Starting Bioshock Infinite this weekend.
