I'd love more Metroid representation, kinda feel like if they put Dark Samus in then they'd basically make her a clone... I feel like the federation force mechs would maybe have more potential, or maybe they could throw in a character relevant to prime 4? Sylux maybe? Or someone entirely new???
nice range of discounts, bit wearing to see the same usual games on sale for 3DS and Wii u though... could have bought Resi Evil 20 times over on 3DS with the frequency it's been discounted over the years... Very nice range of discounts there for those that don't already have though
Honestly didn't expect to see any more games released for the Wii u at this stage, support pretty much vanished the second BotW came out. Not interested in this anyway, still got a pile of stuff on my Wii u to play, once I finish uni and can pull the damn thing back out of its cupboard.
My Wii u became a Netflix box pretty much the instant I stopped playing BotW. I can see the appeal to having it as an option on switch but honestly anyone who's likely to use it will almost certainly have a netflix-compatible device already. Being able to use the joycons as remotes would be hugely more comfortable than using the Wii u gamepad though
The cutscenes in 6th/7th gen are nice, but damn they're all wayyyy too long and there's too many of them. I get that they're trying to flesh out the characters a bit... But honestly I don't really feel that they achieved that at all as the characters felt about as detailed as in the older games, but were more annoying as they kept popping up for cutscenes. The glut of legendaries I've felt has been a problem since gen 4, which saw something like 13 of the things. And while it was nice to be able to catch most them in ORAS and Ultra Sun, it really devalued them as it meant that none of them felt especially rare or special. I seriously hope that they try doing an open world thing for the switch. It anything that'd suit the trials from gen 7 more (could make them like BotW's shrines!) And after 20 years, why on earth has it STILL not occurred to them to make it possible to skip all the obligatory tutorials at the start of the game?! Gen 7 was the worst for this, the entire first island really felt like one big tutorial
@EmiMacthePC the 3DS will be lucky to still be getting any significant support by 2019 imo. Think it's much more likely we'll get a localisation early next year
I actually picked this up again last month after getting a new phone, only problem I have with it is that there's no longer really enough people to get the legendaries unless you're part of an premade group, and they're too strong to solo :/
Seriously tempted to get the shovel knight and binding of Isaac discounts on Wii u, but given that the discount isn't that large I'll probably hold off and buy on the switch when I inevitably get one
Don't actually have any of these, might pick one up, maybe two if I have the coins actually as there probably isn't gonna be much else to spend them on for a while... any recommendations on which one to get though?
Wow that came out of nowhere, assumed they were done with the series! Tried the original last summer and while it was enjoyable enough the controls sort of put me off buying the sequel. At this point my 3DS has got a large enough library that I'm not likely to buy eshop exclusives unless on discount, so probably won't bother with this one either
Picked it up second hand last year, struggled to get into it for exactly the reasons given in the article and dropped it. Tried to give it a second chance this year, and hated it just as much, if not more. It's now the second game I've ever sold without finishing (the first being star fox zero). Would welcome a remake though cause it was mainly the camera and controls holding it back, especially the fludd mechanics which were way too clunky to feel useful
Not too surprising tbh, think the market has mostly moved beyond the brain training fad of the DS era, and as for Hey! Pikmin I personally didn't feel it looked nearly good enough to warrent a day 1 purchase. Not too surprised at Miitopia doing well though after the success of Tomodachi Life
I already have 8 of those games, so don't feel the need to get this, especially seeing as there's only the first donkey kong country, no chrono trigger and no pilotwings. I'll possibly pick up a few of the games I'm interested on wii u instead, and pray that star fox 2 pops up on vc at some point (or play in an emulator). Doesn't help that there's 9 fewer games on this than the NES mini. I'd be very surprised if they get supply right with this, especially seeing as they're barely coping with demand for the switch
tbh I already have almost all the games I'm interested in that are listed, and in most cases I bought them at that price or cheaper years ago... especially smash bros and xenoblade x, both of which I think I paid about the discount price for when they launched... The VC discounts are absolutely the best deal, especially considering they almost never get discounted. That said, I literally have all of those already except partners in time, might get that
Releasing the same games on the same system the following year is a very thinly veiled cash grab (at least prior to gen 5 there was usually a 2 year gap in between, if not more!) If they had released it on the switch (or cross platform) i would have strongly considered getting it, but at this point i think I'll give this one a miss. This has also got me wondering if they purposely kept sun/moon light on features (i.e. Post-story content) just so they could include it in an 'enhanced version' and make a big deal of it
You know what would be so much better than useless discounts? If you could spend coins to earn eshop credit. Maybe 150 gold coins could earn you a £15 eshop code or something like that. That way you can choose what to get, and true fans aren't given the metaphorical middle finger with endless discounts for games they already own that are cheaper elsewhere anyway!
@chiptoon i think you're looking at attachment points for wrist straps maybe? The original 2DS had mono speakers didn't it, does anyone know if this is the same?
This is the 6th iteration of the 3DS family now... Don't you think that's overdoing it? I don't really see the point in this when there's so few games that use the upgraded features as is, so it'll still make more sense for budget conscious buyers to get a standard 2DS instead, unless they're upgrading. I take it that, like the n3DS XL, this doesn't have customisable face plates?
Was the wii u version any good? I don't have a switch (and don't plan to either until xenoblade 2), but have been curious about this since it first released on Wii u
