I'm so glad it ended up on Wii U, using the GamePad and the Wiimote + Nunchuck is absolutely amazing. It would be nice to see on 3DS just for the 3D effect, I think having plants pop out in 3D could help bring it to life even more. But Miyamoto's right, they'd have to change the gameplay because the precision in Pikmin 3 is incredible.
4 heroes is hard to imagine as well, it would get a bit convoluted to have 3 people throwing each other and have 4 different platform heights for that reason alone. It wouldn't make much sense.
Obviously Dyltheman said it all best though. Look forward to his detailed opinion on future topics.
Played Sonic Lost World at PAX and it does feel more like a Mario game. Not in the gameplay sense, but with the amount of polish and precision with the controls. The run button really helps, it's still a fast game but measured. Really excited about this, it looks to be the perfect evolution of Sonic that should have happened 15 years ago.
Not many people do it because they can't. Very simple, I have dozens of DS and PS3 games from the US and Japan and enjoy them a lot. You don't, seriously? Maybe you're not as active a gamer as you think you are, that's OK. Half my DS collection is from the US and I live in Australia.
The world is becoming more disconnected and that's my biggest issue, having to change my identity to play a game. Having different names for SwapNote / Nintendo Letter Box. It's gone too far.
I have a lot of Americans on my 3DS playing Etrian Odyssey 4, and I can't even buy it.
Mother of god. Everything has a bloody campaign this year. It also seems like a lot of people haven't played Spirit Tracks.
This is annoying, the whole campaign undermines her current importance. She motivates Link to save the world just by existing, how can you top that power? Link can't be a true hero with all this guidance, he has to feel alone and face his own challenges. And yes, LINK IS THE HERO. Deal with it.
I was addicted to this in the GBA days, I think I maxed out the score (or got to level 99, I forget) 3 times in all the Mario Advance games. Way better than Donkey Kong at least.
I managed to StreetPass one person with this game, and can't figure out what it does. They're supposed to add to the allies you call in an emergency, but they never showed up.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt this way. It's a shame because I'm absolutely in love with the concept and the 3D effect is really cool, showing plants and bugs like they're huge monstrosities popping out of the screen. But the gameplay is basically "hold shoot, and don't miss a single shot, ever". I'm stuck on a certain mission and it seems like I've done everything possible and just can't progress. I'm glad this review echoes my thoughts so I don't have to do one hah. Switching to Easy is demoralising and still doesn't live up to the dictionary definition of "easy".
One thing I disagree on is the lack of direction in missions, I enjoyed exploring and figuring out the route. It's the core gameplay mechanics that just never go anywhere. Did you beat every mission? It's stupidly hard.
Too late for what exactly? Mario Kart is Nintendo's single most important game, it's done when they say it is. I would not want any compromises in its development, we only get one game per system.
@Mr_Vengeance agreed, it's incredibly frustrating. Especially when every other racing developer is doing it wrong right now, we need Nintendo. Nintendo's Mario Kart team is apparently full of real racing enthusiasts so it's a surprise they don't make more (though MK8 looks stunning, physics and all)
Oh wow, this came out of nowhere. Looks almost identical to Wave Race except maybe the handling is a bit more stiff based on some parts of that video. Will definitely give it a shot.
I've just started getting into the Mega Man series, really enjoying it on the GamePad. Would be nice to have Mega Man 9 and 10, should be easy to port too.
He doesn't know, that's even worse. Imagine feeding your kids and you don't know if you have enough food for the last plate. Little Timmy sits down anyway, looking up. Waiting. He can smell the food.
They will never support it, and I'm OK with that. These guys care more about metacritic than the gaming experience. Need for Speed was twice the price of other console versions, and he's also taking credit for Criterion's work like a jackass.
No surprise there. Gamers acted like morons when it was announced "hurp durp it's not going to sell, give us something better!". Well there you go, self fulfilling prophecy. It's not going to sell so they put it on platforms that will buy it.
Something doesn't have to be realistic to give you real feelings. I felt more connected to a lost Nopon in Xenoblade than some little girl solely created to appeal to my emotional strings.
Nintendo's strength is in creating original worlds with their own unique characters and musical compositions that couldn't exist in a Naughty Dog ghetto movie backdrop. To ignore those enormous strengths for the Game of the Month #6 is just insulting to videogames and ignores everything that makes them great in the first place.

Re: Nintendo Comments On EarthBound's Inflated Pricing
I just bought Game & Wario for $40. Earthbound is not expensive.
Re: Codemasters: F1 2013 Would Need To Be "A Very Different Game" To Run On Wii U
I think we found a Codemasters employee.
Re: Weirdness: Formula One Champion Sebastian Vettel Channels His Inner Mario
I guess Mark Webber is Luigi then. Definitely his year.
Re: Codemasters: F1 2013 Would Need To Be "A Very Different Game" To Run On Wii U
This is pathetic, the GamePad is basically an F1 steering wheel. I can repeat the same response as last year when they made up an excuse for not releasing F1 2012 http://pietriots.com/2012/08/24/codemasters-our-games-suck/
Re: Nintendo Download: 18th July (Europe)
@Ducutzu zero Wii U games, really? I'm finding time for them right now.
I only weep because I love the GamePad so much, I want to play everything on it. No more 3DS VC purchases for me.
Re: Capcom To Reveal More Info On Mega Man's 25th Anniversary At Comic-Con 2013
It would be nice to know when Comic Con actually takes place so we can get our bodies ready.
Re: Ubisoft: Nintendo Has The Brand Power To Turn Wii U Around
It certainly performed under expectations. Heck, Rayman Legends sold 0 copies.
Re: Nintendo Download: 18th July (Europe)
Another great week for 3DS, but Wii U is getting depressing. Not even a new NES game, wow. How hard could it be?
Re: Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara For Wii U "Has Been A Bit of A Nightmare" For The Producer
Always Nintendo's fault. Iwata should have coded the game himself.
Re: Soapbox: Why Region Locking Is A Total Non-Issue
@Peach64 yep exactly, one dead pixel on a 3DS screen and you're screwed. I wanted the Animal Crossing XL but it's just not that simple.

Re: Zelda-Inspired Ittle Dew Heading To The Wii U eShop This Year
Jesus, this is shameless. At least bring your own designs to the table.
Re: Rumour: Metroid Blasting Onto The Wii U Virtual Console Next Week
Booted up Metroid Prime the other day and played this. Holds up well unlike Metroid Prime.
Re: Miyamoto: Mario Will Likely Return To Single-Player
Well that ends that discussion.
Re: Miyamoto: Mario Will Likely Return To Single-Player
@Metal_Sonic you should play 3D Land because it's the best Mario game ever made

It's a videogame

Re: Nintendo Download: 4th July (Europe)
I just bought Mighty Switch Force HD ... ah well, my body was ready. Looking forward to trying Pilotwings for the first time.

Re: Rumour: Mario Kart 8 Coming To Wii U in April
April would make it a full 6 years after Mario Kart Wii. My body is ready.

That sounds like a threat.

Re: Arc System Works Keen To Know How Badly You Want Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- On Wii U
Not interested in sympathy games. If you don't want to make it, don't.
Re: Super Mario 3D World Producer Teases New Annoucement
I was going to comment with something specific but got distracted by those Super Mario 3D World screenshots. Gosh darn that looks magical.
Re: Steel Diver Will Be Nintendo's First Free-To-Play Game
STEEL DIVER OMFG! This would be perfect for Wii U, looking through the GamePad to fire torpedoes. Will buy in any capacity.
Re: Nintendo's Kensuke Tanabe Wants To Make Tingle Popular In The West
People hate Tingle because he is them. A 40 year old man who dressed up and plays videogames. My hero.
Re: Miyamoto: Pikmin 3 Has Become "The Ultimate Version of Pikmin 1"
@Peach64 Steel Diver proved nobody cares about new IPs
Re: Miyamoto: Pikmin 3 Has Become "The Ultimate Version of Pikmin 1"
Sounds perfect. This game will surprise a lot of people.

Re: Waiting For Wii U To Drop In Price? Not Going To Happen, Says Nintendo
Good. Price means absolutely nothing when people are not interested, even people who already have Wii U's are too lazy to download 30 cent games.
Re: EA Will "Jump Back In" If Wii U Becomes A "Viable Platform"
They will never support it, and I'm OK with that. These guys care more about metacritic than the gaming experience. Need for Speed was twice the price of other console versions, and he's also taking credit for Criterion's work like a jackass.
Re: First Impressions: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
How can something drag on if it's fun? Sounds to me like you're too tired to enjoy it.
Re: Nintendo's Scott Moffitt - Upcoming Wii U Lineup Will "Ignite Sales"
Wow Moffitt is ALIVE! I was getting worried, he basically vanished after smack-talking Reggie.
Re: Nintendo Loses Exclusivity On Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director's Cut For Wii U
Blaming Nintendo isn't going to help. Tell SQUARE-ENIX you want Wii U games, not Nintendo.

No surprise there. Gamers acted like morons when it was announced "hurp durp it's not going to sell, give us something better!". Well there you go, self fulfilling prophecy. It's not going to sell so they put it on platforms that will buy it.
Re: Mega Man 2, 3 And 4 Are Now Available On North American Wii U eShop
@Joshers744 likewise, I'm jumping in! The GamePad + Miiverse combination is probably the best way to catch up on these old games
Re: Iwata Issues Apology For Technical Difficulties With Nintendo Direct Live Stream
Bless him
Re: Ubisoft Posts Beyond Good & Evil Image On Its Facebook Page Days Before E3
Letting this game exist could be Ubisoft's apology to Ancel for the Rayman mess.
Re: Developer Interview: WayForward Talks Mighty Switch Force! 2
Sounds great, love their attitude. Any word if MSF2 will have leaderboards? Pretty much the only thing missing from the first game and MSF HD.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Should Aim to Produce Mature, Genre-Defining Storytelling Experiences
@Yorumi I agree, Dragon's Dogma vs Skyrim is another comparison
I wonder is there an article on the Sony site asking them to make an Animal Crossing-type game?
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Should Aim to Produce Mature, Genre-Defining Storytelling Experiences
Disaster: Day of Crisis was great because it knew it was a videogame, and took advantage of that to give us more spectacular events.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Should Aim to Produce Mature, Genre-Defining Storytelling Experiences
Cinematic flair and exciting gameplay, like The Wonderful 101? Or does that need grenades and crying.
Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Should Aim to Produce Mature, Genre-Defining Storytelling Experiences
