Re: We're Getting Digital Right On 3DS And Wii U, Insists Reggie

Grubdog

Obviously the account system still needs to be fixed, handheld / console needs to be unified, and Wii U virtual console needs to actually get some games. HOWEVER, Reggie's doing a good job lately sparking interest and doing his job as PR guy.

I would love to see Reggie watering his flowers and getting his fossils in a Reggie Direct. Animal Crossing seems to have given him a new lease on life.

Re: DuckTales: Remastered Update to Target Leaderboard Issues on Wii U

Grubdog

I never played it before on NES (nor watched the show) either and It's magnificent. Controls are perfect and I never had problems with the pogo or level design. I have encountered some bugs though, including the leaderboard one and a boss that just didn't appear, I had to reset after standing around waiting. The leaderboards in this game are pretty pointless anyway, total playtime and how many times you've beaten it? Out of all WayForward's games, this is the least necessary one for a leaderboard, not that I'm complaining. I guess a budget really does help with features like this.

Re: Petit Computer Looks Set for the 3DS

Grubdog

This thing makes a lot more sense on Wii U with the Miiverse behind it. Look at the huge impact the Art Academy Community has had in such a small time. Nonetheless I will check it out on 3DS.

Re: Jett Rocket II Planned for 3DS eShop Submission Next Week

Looks stunning, can't wait to see it in 3D. You guys are ridiculously fast too, that tweet was 15 minutes ago.

Anyone have an idea how long Shin'ens games usually take to get released after approval? Some games it's not too long, but there's stuff like Mutant Mudds Deluxe (EU) that disappears off the face of the earth.

Re: Capcom Reiterates Stance On Further Disney Remastering

@unrandomsam you're not making much sense. I've beaten the game twice and didn't have a single problem with collision detection. Once you learn the enemy patterns it's almost impossible to fail. Cutscenes can also be skipped in less than 1 second before they even start, without any loading. This is better than 95% of games on the market.

DuckTales is proving an entertaining contrast between gamers who can think for themselves, and those too used to the comfort zone of modern game design (or lack-of-design). That's fine, but everyone else needs to support this amazing experience. I'm starting a third run now on Extreme and you know what? I don't care if I fail. The game is pure joy. It's easier than most NES games I've played too.

Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Points the Way to Uncovering Pikmin 3's Hidden Secrets

It's a really fun game to explore in, I found them all quite easily just by being curious. Really looking forward to any DLC announcements now, I've already beaten Story Mode twice and got every Platinum medal (50 hours play time). Such an amazing game, all they really need to do is slightly alter the Mission Mode layouts and i'll have completely new strategies to think up. There's so many ways they could add content, the videos are a cool hint at some kind of second adventure. I want to play this game forever.

Re: Nintendo Download: 8th August (Europe)

Grubdog

escapeVektor is definitely worth it. I was shocked to see I've spent 27 hours on the game getting medals, just above Kid Icarus Uprising.

I'll get Steamworld Dig and maybe Romance, nice to see KOEI supporting the Wii U VC. The GamePad is so perfect I'll almost buy any classic game for it.

Re: Capcom: If You Want Games Like E.X. Troopers, You Need To Speak Up

Grubdog

Be careful what you wish for Capcom, the year of entitlement will take no prisoners.

Remember when companies made a game they wanted, THEN consumers decided if they wanted it? The whole focus group approach is what's killing companies left and right, and it made Resident Evil 6 into the abortion that it is because they tried to target 16 markets that didn't exist.

Re: Nintendo Download: 1st August (Europe)

Grubdog

@ToniK absolutely the Wii U version. It has less content but it's far more refined and impressive, a lot more fun and has a better survival mode. I've put 30 hours into it, 7 hours into the 3DS one. The 3DS one has some fantastic one-time bosses, but not as much re-playability

Re: Petition Started To Make Reggie A Playable Character In Upcoming Smash Bros. Title

Grubdog

Oh god yes. Press A to kick butt, B to take names. Final Smash is "Not My Problem", Reggie shrugging off the entire screen into a black hole.

Imagine 4 different coloured / clothed Reggie's all shrugging and laughing. I would spend so much time in photo mode.

Alternatively, make him the final boss in a campaign mode, as the true owner of the Master Hand is revealed.

Re: Review: Kid Icarus (Wii U eShop / NES)

Grubdog

@Haxonberik if a game needs a guide then yes it is hard. Love Kid Icarus though, but Nintendo has a weird trend of releasing games already on 3DS lately for Wii U. This, Metroid, Kirby's Adventure, Excite Bike. It's not doing them any favours.

Re: AlphaDream Currently Has No Plans For The Mario & Luigi Series On Wii U

Grubdog

He's interested, but has no plans. That simply means whatever they are working on now, isn't for Wii U. Could they be working on Mario & Luigi 5 so early?

I think a great compromise would be to have the very first Mario & Luigi on Wii U Virtual Console. One of the best GBA games to showcase if that's what they're planning.
