@ARhollow "my original reply was about the 30 FPS lock." The comment you replied to didn't mention anything about a 30 fps lock. All it says is: "(…) it doesn't stick too well to 30fps (…)"
"(…) you'd suddenly find its rating going from 3+ to 18+ (…)"
The lowest rating in Germany (and the one FIFA gets) is actually '0'. It basically means no age restrictions.
Also to people thinking that those restrictions don't do anything: They actually do something – in Germany. In local stores the cashier is not allowed to sell 18+ media to minors. If they do they face punishment. In addition, online shops also tend to have verification methods such as showing your ID card to the courier.

So you think Atlus spends resources creating surveys to then not use the collected data? As stated by some Atlus dev SMT III Remaster, Catherine Switch port and more have been a result of surveys like that.

That's different from what nintendoeverything wrote: "That brings the overall total to 300,000, though the company says that less than 1 percent of these led to fraudulent purchases."

@Kainbrightside
'Indie' simply means that a developer is free to develop whatever they want without a publisher or investor telling them what to do. It's a developer working on their own game, their own IP instead of commissional work. However an indie dev can very well be supported by a publisher. For example Chucklefish themselves, Devolver Digital, Team17 or Thunderful Games (a publishing label founded by Image & Form and Zoink Games to support indies).
In some cases Grasshopper Manufacture is indie as well. They are owned by Marvelous but Travis Strikes Again was purely developed by Suda and his team without Marvelous. I don't even think Marvelous did anything to promote the game. Grasshopper also self-published the game – except for the retail version which was provided by Nintendo.
The term 'indie' has nothing to do with the company's size, income, overall financial situation, knowhow, quality and so on.
@TheFox
It's not cynical. It's a ridiculous accusation. Also TSA is self-published by Grasshopper Manufacture. Nintendo only published the retail version. I also don't see how the publisher being Ubisoft would change anything.
@luke88
Digitally it's 29,99. Season Pass ist 9,99 and seems to have a good amount of content – according to the information on Nintendo's websites and the Season Pass card itself. You might also get the retail version for about 34 bucks if you look around a bit.
@SonOfVon
It's not missing. This version will receive updates like any other version. And the reasoning is simple: Because it's a port of a game that is still getting updates. You have to find a fix point to port and can't add more and more stuff during the porting process.
"Payday 2 is releasing on Switch with content up to and including the ‘Most Wanted’ update, which is equivalent to the content released through mid-2017 on PC. PS4 and Xbox One received one additional update after that, the ‘Master Plan’ update, which released near the end of 2017. So Switch is one update behind other consoles, which are slightly behind PC.“
"The reasoning for the Switch content: we’re making continuous updates to a game that’s turning 5 years old this year, and to get the game out in early 2018 on Switch meant that our team had to go with the content ported and available at the time of console submission. The PS4 and Xbox One versions are now almost up to par with PC content, and Switch is close behind those versions. There are future content updates planned for Switch, as well."
@formulas666
Being old is not a valid point/complaint for a multiplayer game that is still getting updates and support. Look at TF2 for example. And one can only hope that Overwatch will be supported in the same way as other popular multiplayer games.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE Can you just let the Wii U die with dignity? Don't try to keep it alive with force. There's absolutely no point in complaining about a game not coming to Wii U. The sales on Wii U would most likely not make up for the costs of porting it.
This is why I'm glad that there is no Virtual Console yet. This way other developers take the spotlight. As soon as VC drops silly Nintendo fans will buy Mario Bros., Super Metroid, A Link to the Past for 6th time to play those old games they've already played like 31st times. All while possibly ignoring some amazing indie stuff.
It's especially "great" when those people complain about the pricing of some of those indie games... and within the same breath they're going to buy the same Zelda again and again and again.
@feelinsupersonic
Shinobi Refle: Senran Kagura is third. That sold 50.000+ copies. So Snipperclips sold somewhere around 50.000 and whatever Minecraft sold.
Why is everyone freaking out about it? No specific platform is mentioned on the site for example.
Windows is there, well because you need Win 10 to stream games.
The browsers are there because the app uses the browsers to stream to a client (including Switch, so even if there won't be a native app, it would still run on Switch!).
iOS and Android are there because you can put anything on those stores without any hurdle.
@Savlep99
"Remember when Super Mario Odyssey was announced in January 2017 for the first time. No one believed it would be released that same year, (...)"
I never saw anyone not believing it would be out in 2017. On the contrary. A lot of people thought Nintendo was holding it back (which is a common thing to do). After the January presentation there even were rumors about the game being pretty much done.
@GravyThief
Prime 3 is by far the best of the Prime series. I don't want Samus to become like Doom-Guy-Space-Marine who simply shoots and does things just because. Prime 3 gave her more personality and showed that she is actually part of a living, modern society and that the entire universe does not just consists of dead civilizations from the past. I want Samus and the Metroid universe to be and feel alive.
And the cut scenes you've mentioned: Not really. Not a lot, not long, not really much talking.
@Ralek85
There was no peace treaty signed in general. Not just concerning Russia or Japan. There is the "Zwei-plus-Vier"-Contract (don't know how you'd call that in English) but that's a whole different thing. So technically we're still in a state of war but not openly – or something.
But I don't think Japan has a "grudge" against Russia. Russia is at least the only one of the victorious powers that acknowledged their guilt for the outbreak of the war. Because it wasn't just one country and then all went to hell. There are multiple factors that play into it. Of course "nobody" wants to talk about it.
But this is about video games... so... pay no attention and move on.^^
@rjejr
"Don't see how 3rd party exclusives helps really. Nintendo already has all the exclusives it needs, it makes them, Wii U had some of the best exclusive games last gen, didn't help"
The Wii U's first party exclusives didn't help either. It's problem was not the games but the marketing which then lead to less support and games. But a system needs exclusives or exclusive features – the Switch has both.
There is a rather small amount of games that are actually considered system sellers. On Nintendo's side it's Mario, Zelda and Pokémon (which isn't even fully Nintendo) and that's pretty much it.
Games like Travis Strikes Again, Bayonetta 3 (1 & 2 even), SMT V, Project Octopath Traveler, Metroid Prime 4, Animal Crossing, Xenoblade 2 and so on are no system sellers, on their own. It is the combination of all sorts of different games like these that sells systems.
@bitleman I don't think you realize how much money Nintendo actually has. They could mess up just like they did with Wii U for the next like 20-30 years and they would still have money on the bank.
@Mahe
Are you able to do the math? The gap is getting bigger? What charts are you looking at?
The 3DS is doing well and will probably continue to do well, which is great. Even if there would not be any new game coming (which there still is – at least a few). I could see the 3DS doing somewhat well throughout 2019 as well. Simply because of its incredible software line up. But to take the success of the 3DS and turn it against the Switch, is pretty silly.
I guess it's another way to desperately trying to explain the success or to understate its success.
@Razer
"Global sales for PS4 by end of Nov was 845k
Nintendo by end of Nov was 419k"
Do you have a source? Seems very unlikely. Are you talking about the entire November? I remember hearing numbers from the NPD (which are not totally accurate) about 1.5 million for PS4 and Xbox, Switch being close behind. And that's just for the US! Btw. the Switch already surpassed the PS4 first 9 months sales. Which actually does not mean much.
Wii U and 3DS games are NOT tied to the hardware but to the NNID. It is possible to detach a NNID from Wii U while on 3DS one "just" need to contact Nintendo (a matter of minutes/hours). After that one can attach the NNID to a new system and re-download the games.
@Favna
No one forces you to buy a game on a specific platform. To say "game x doesn't belong on system y" is just utter nonsense. Also the combination of gyro-controls and analog stick feels great. But I doubt many third parties would use that.
Btw. no one said anything about Overwatch...
Some people are overreacting to something like this. These shareholder reactions are normal and were expected. New generation means a company has do make investments. There is also no release date, no price and so on. Such things affect the value.
And the value went up before the reveal. So the drop is not that big.
I wonder how a game like Mario Maker would work with one screen. 5 friends sitting together. One is showing of "Mario/Zelda/Whatever Maker" using the tablet (assuming it has touch). All 5 of them have to crowd around the little screen. Now he/she wants his/her friends to play the level he/she made. Stands up, walking to the TV and Dock, putting the Switch down, walking back. Friends playing and finish the level, he/she stands up, walking to the TV and Dock... and so on.
Yeah, this seems like a lot of fun, right?
It's a huge missed opportunity. The second screen was great and many game benefited from it. After playing Don' Starve on the Wii U, I can't go back to other version where you can't seamlessly explore the world and unveil the map.
Every Adventure/RPG game benefited from the second screen and the permanent map. If I imagine I have to pause the game and go through a menu to get to the map in games like Xenoblade X? Horrible! The second screen was one of the best improvements of this generation.
It also created some great multiplayer experiences. Affordable Space Adventures, Runbow, Nintendo Land, Rayman Legends.
Since DeNA is listed as a partner I would imagine it has a touchscreen. I think Switch will support all of Nintendos mobile games?! Would be a huge mistake if it's not a touchscreen: Goodbye Mario Maker, easy accessibly menus and so on. A Tablet-like device that has no touchscreen?
@CharlieSmile
„Aaaand just like that, I'm not buying this game.
I don't care if someone thinks that means I've "really reached a whole new level of stupid."
I'm not spending a full $40 price for a 3DS game that doesn't display in 3D.“
To be honest, that's really silly. A game does not need to use every feature of a system. Or do you only buy games that uses 3D where you can use the gyro controls while pointing with the camera on the little AR-card while taking a picture of yourself using the inside camera while blowing into the mic?
But who am I to judge. You don't have to buy it for whatever reason.
The Japanese players are not that good. You can easily win.
But the problem is that the experience often is laggy - for both sides. Many times I die and a couple of seconds later the Japanese player also dies because of me. Both sides have the same laggy experience - which is not good at all.
Except someone uses a lag switch thing.
@erv Just give the player the option to choose. It is that easy.

"Look, the low sales on the eShop are extremely sad, but the problem is primarily the fanbase: Nintendo fans do not support non-Nintendo games."
Yep. Nintendo Fanboys are the worst. Rather buy old "poopitypoop" (VC, remakes) instead of new, innovative, high quality games. "20 bugs for indie? Too much." "Oh, 7-10 bugs for old VC games I already own and played... 20 times... I'll get those for sure!!1!" I really hate those Fanboys.
If people just want to pay 3-5 bugs for indie games they don't need to wonder and complain when there are only mini and/or trash games on eShop in the future!
@LoveSugoi But without a remake there is just one version which is the best version. There just need to release it as a VC title and you will get the best version.
@Nanamine
We have to see which games will really be released this year. I still don't belive on a 2015 release for Zelda and Star Fox. The 3DS has a lot of games and most gamers don't have played all the good interesting games. The Wii U need more games and different games too. There is no point of it being a 3DS remake besides the wider audience (from a financial point of view). But as a gamer? No.
And they just need to bring those games as a VC title. So arguments like "the original is too expensive, so the remake is a good thing" is pretty much pointless.
I don't want it to be true. I want new games and not the same old games over and over again. Especially not on the 3DS because the Wii U is the Nintendo device with a lack of games. So if they really want to make even more remakes they should make them for Wii U (would be better as a VC title). But I still prefer new games.
@ikki5 The flag is now used as the symbol of the EU (28 nations). It's not a symbol for Europe in general. Many politicans talk about a "united Europe", a "common Europe". But that's not possible when they exclude so many countries/governments (Russia for example. It's still a european country even if a big part of it is in Asia). I guess with "united Europe" they actually mean "all US/NATO friendly/bondaged states."^^
@A01 Which Amazon? I checked US, UK and GER. All of them have eShop cards to offer.
@ikki5 I see. But that doesn't explain the use of the EU flag (for example on Nintendo's european youtube channel). Which was established in the mid fifties (Council of Europe, later EC (European Community) than EU).

But without a remake there is just one version which is the best version.
There just need to release it as a VC title and you will get the best version.
Re: Talking Point: That Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door 3DS Rumour Looks Fake, But Do You Want it to be True?
@Nanamine
Re: Talking Point: That Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door 3D Rumour Looks Fake, But Do You Want it to be True?
I don't want it to be true. I want new games and not the same old games over and over again. Especially not on the 3DS because the Wii U is the Nintendo device with a lack of games. So if they really want to make even more remakes they should make them for Wii U (would be better as a VC title). But I still prefer new games.
Re: Euro Release Of BLOK DROP X Twisted Fusion Sells Almost Twice Its North American Launch Day Total
Re: Euro Release Of BLOK DROP X Twisted Fusion Sells Almost Twice Its North American Launch Day Total
@ikki5 I see. But that doesn't explain the use of the EU flag (for example on Nintendo's european youtube channel). Which was established in the mid fifties (Council of Europe, later EC (European Community) than EU).
But that's too much offtopic.^^
Re: Euro Release Of BLOK DROP X Twisted Fusion Sells Almost Twice Its North American Launch Day Total
@ikki5
The term EUR was used often before the EU existed. I don't remember seeing the term EU back then.
The dev said he's very pleased. So even if you don't know the actual numbers you can tell that the sales are good (for such a small game).
Re: Euro Release Of BLOK DROP X Twisted Fusion Sells Almost Twice Its North American Launch Day Total
Good for the dev. Even if the game doesn't look that good.
Btw: I hate it when people use the term EU but mean Europe. Same goes for using the EU flag. The EU is not Europe.
@sinalefa
CoD, Battlefield, Destiny and so on are successful everywhere.
