The VC is going downhill for sure, WiiWare seems to be the main reason for it but I think Nintendo are concentrating on the casual gamer crowd with Wii Sports Resort and MotionPlus being released soon.

If Nintendo did something totally out of the blue and released 4 VC games or a N64 game it might restore hope for some of the fans. They need to remember the people that bought the consoles from the beginning and that have stayed loyal since.

I'm glad I held on to my N64 and have enjoyed some great games that are be unlikely to be released on the VC. The VC is a great idea but needs some changes to improve it. The storage problem looks like the major issue and should have been realised when WiiWare was announced.

Great review as always. I expected this to get a 5, this game will go on the disappointing pile along with several other WiiWare games.

I hope we get good surprise releases, that would change my opinion of the WiiWare service completely.

This looks like a game I'll seriously consider. The visuals look on par with World of Goo to me and the 4 player co-op sounds like a barrel of laughs.

I'm hoping this turns out to be one of the best games of the year.

Not an amazing update for the US but better than nothing. I'm with lockelocke on Gradius: Rebirth, should be something special.

As for Sandy Beach, seems like a hit or miss game and I will wait for the review before considering it. With a sandcastle game released in Winter, maybe a snowball fight game will arrive this Summer.

A disappointing start to 2009 for me. I hope only 2 games a week doesn't become the standard for releases. At least the Strong Bad fans can complete their collections now.

Good list even though it was predictable. Personally I think the Mega Man games are overrated. I haven't played enough WiiWare games for a top 10 but the ones I have I'd rank like this:

1) World of Goo
2) Tetris Party
3) Bomberman Blast
4) Midnight Pool
5) Pop

I would be interested to see a top 5 worst games, I'm sure most of us would agree with the rankings.

The US have caught up with EU, now we just need to get the US games. Gyrostarr and one or two others would be nice.

Good chart this week, I hope 2D Boy maintain the success they are getting from the amazing World of Goo and continue to make fun games.

Sounds like a pretty good game, I expected it to get a 6. I don't think I'll get it though, WoG will keep me occupied for structure building and there's a few other WiiWare games I might get.

I expected this to get a 7. If it got 7 or above I probably would have considered getting this. Oh well, I can always wait for other WiiWare and there's a few I'm interested in already.

A decent update I think, I hope Europe has a good one next week. FFM looks good and Tiki Towers may be worth a look into.

A shame the first WiiWare racer turns out to be awful. One of the screenshots looked like a TrackMania game. Let's hope there's a good racer out soon.

Bought it today.

Excellent game so far, very difficult though, I'm stuck on Chapter 1 Level 3.

A fantastic update and possibly the best WiiWare week Europe has had. I saved 2000 Wii Points just for this update, I'll be getting World of Goo for sure and possibly Niki - Rock 'n Ball if it gets a good review.

I'm unsure about Orbient and its replayability so that game goes in the maybe pile. I never liked Sudoku so I won't be getting SC.

Anyway, these games will keep me busy for Christmas, if the VC releases next week are as good as this it would be a perfect way to end the year.

This game will be a definite purchase for me, especially with a low price and multiplayer. I couldn't help thinking of The Incredbile Maze though when reading the game description. I hope this comes out soon.

@calculon: Oh ok, I see what you mean. As long as we don't get Pong Toss I'm happy. Gyrostarr would be good to have, looks just like Wipeout.

I'd like to add Art Style: Orbient to your list calculon. It would be nice to have all the Art Style games on WiiWare.

Oh my... after all this anticaption, WOG is coming to EU at last! That's the best bit of news I've heard for months, can't wait to give this a go after having a taste of it a few days ago. I'm glad I didn't spend my 2000 Wii Points I got earlier this month.

If Orbient comes soon as well that would be excellent.

I predicted a 6 for this game; I agree with many others that they are plenty of puzzle WiiWare games already. It would be great to see more variety in the future.

As for BKP, I'll pass this one when it's out here and wait for WOG and Orbient to be out.

@Wiiloveit: I totally agree about WOG; I'm worried as Wikipedia says it's due Spring 2009. I can't wait that long! Especially after seeing some gameplay today at college; it seems like this is one of the games that is almost universally loved and will go down as a classic with other games such as Pac-Man and GoldenEye.

I hope WOG gets a sequel and that 2D Boy keep up the quality of their games.

As for Strong Bad, I don't like the Flash series so none of the games have interested me. It would be great to get more episodic games on WiiWare.

I may just get this, especially if the multiplayer is decent. This looks much better than the Wii Sports golf game and I hope it has just as simple controls.

@Wiiloveit: I haven't forgot about World of Goo at all; I can't wait for it to be out but I don't think it will be out before Christmas. I'm expecting us to get some of NA's good games early January.

This goes back to what I said on the Hockey Allstar Shootout review. Constant disappointment. Looks like it won't be such a good Christmas for WiiWare.

I'm hoping Bruiser & Scratch is good and makes up for the awful Hockey Allstar Shootout. Nintendo have got to realise the difference between awesome and awful when it comes to WiiWare releases.

A game worse than Pong Toss?

Why oh why are there so many awful games on WiiWare? A few gems buried in a heap of rubbish.

I love multiplayer games so I'm considering getting this as I enjoy the Buzz series. It sounds like single player isn't that fun though so I don't think I'll buy it just yet. 1000 Points is a lot to fork out, especially when there are other WiiWare titles that look great too.

Aw what a shame, I was considering getting this and expected it to get a 5 or 6 but a 4 is too low a score for me to even look at gameplay footage.

I think there are enough puzzle games for WiiWare now and it seems like there will more disappointing ones like this in the future if things stay as they are.

I may take a look at Rotohex and possibly Pit Crew Panic as it's only 500 points but otherwise nothing interesting for me this week. Can't wait for Orbient though.

I expected this game to get a 5 but it looks like my mind is made up about this game, I'll save my points when this is out and see if there's anything worth buying this week instead.

I'm undecided on getting this or Midnight Pool. I might get both in the end but this sounds much better than Midnight Pool. This looks like great fun for multiplayer, especially as it has online as well.

I expected this to be great and was considering getting it but now I'm not so sure.

That's excellent news for us in Europe. I hope this trend will continue with future releases. Cue Sports and Cubello look pretty decent so I may check those out. I don't care for the Strong Bad games and YYCJ doesn't sound or look too promising.

Bring on the rest of the Art Style games!

Not bad; hoped to see the Art Style games doing well. They'll take over the EU chart when they come out over here.

Looks like a contender against Brain Training, not sure if I'll get it; I'll have to see some YouTube footage first.

It will interesting to see how SVBCS holds up to Midnight Pool.

PCP looks ok, if it's priced around 600 points I would consider getting it.

Snowboard Riot looks great, let's hope it can take the title of best snowboarding Wii game. If it's as good as 1080 was, I'll definitely get it.

Not a bad week but I won't be getting any of these.

If we don't get an Art Style game in two weeks I'll be severely disappointed.

No Art Style: Rotohex in there either. I think The Incredible Maze and Pong Toss need to go. Look forward to seeing the UK chart.

ACR looks interesting, not bothered about HSH though. I hope those of us in Europe get an Art Style game this week.

I would give Pop a 7/10. It gets repetitive quickly and I get bored after 15 minutes of constant bubble popping. That said, it's not bad for 700 points and you could do a lot worse.

Do not want! I'd rather have Gyrostarr or an Art Style game than this sad excuse for a game.

I'm surprised the Art Style games aren't doing better; Pong Toss has got to go soon.

Looks interesting but I won't be getting one. I'll buy tonnes of Wii Points until the next Ninty home console is out.

I've had this for a good few months as my first and currently only WiiWare game. It's pretty decent and utilises the Wii Remote in a unique way. I award it a 7/10.
