Re: Consumers Go Crazy For Wii U Following Xbox One Reveal

Ducutzu

Some people wanted a Wii U, but were waiting to see if the next consoles were going to offer the same experience. And now it is more clear that you can safely own both a Wii U & one of the other two consoles. They will not overlap, in terms of the experience they provide.

The Xbox reveal was quite cool, in my opinion (and I'm not an Xbox owner or fan). The console offers a nice upgrade for its own target audience. More non-gaming features, which is something that the Xbox audience has come to expect and enjoy. Ofcourse, it will have graphics that the Wii U will be unable to match.

But the box is big, and it will most likely cost a lot of money in the first years.

Re: Capcom Bringing More SNES Goodness To The Wii U Virtual Console

Ducutzu

Capcom developed some very cool games in the SNES era.

I will instantly buy for the Wii U Virtual Console any SNES Capcom games developed under the Disney license. I still remember how cool Goof Troop was.

I would also love to see Resident Evil Zero and the REmake with GamePad play. Those I would purchase on the spot.

Re: Review: Toki Tori 2 (Wii U eShop)

It's not difficult. But it's a game that makes you think. So normally, if you get the option to complain at the first difficulty, you will go to Miiverse. It is to be expected with puzzle games.

Re: Feature: Series Reboots That Have Divided Gamers

What creeps me out is that those hating on remakes are all adults. I mean, they must be old enough to have played the other games. Think about it: grown-ups, frothing at the mouth with anger like spoiled children... over what? Video games...

Re: Talking Point: Sony's PlayStation 4 Poses a Fresh Challenge for Wii U in the 2013 Holidays

These consoles are made with feedback from game developer studios.

As such, I am sure that Nintendo knew exactly, during Wii U's development, what the specifications of the other upcoming consoles were going to be.

Nintendo never intended to make a machine that would replace the PS4 or the next Xbox console.

Most game developers are probably going to stop simultaneously releasing games for both generations in 2015. So the Wii U is going to get some multiplatform games from the end of 2013, into 2014, and maybe at the start of 2015. After this, they will need to be again a niche that offers something entirely different than the other consoles.

Most likely, all this was part of Nintendo's plan.

I am curious about the 2013 holidays. There will be five different videogame machines available.

I expect that 2013 will be so-so for the Wii U. Then 2014 will be awesome. And I am really curious to see how 2015 will turn out.

Re: Watch Dogs Confirmed For Release On Wii U

I am happy that this game will be available on the Wii U. Let's hope that the gameplay will be fun.

Given the choice between:

a) more particle effects on the Playstation 4 and
b) clever GamePad use on the Wii U,

...then I am definitely choosing the Wii U version.

I have to say that, after playing Zombi U, I felt that Assassins Creed 3 on Wii U was lacking something. In ZombiU, the GamePad added a very involving layer of strategy; for example, in managing your weapons and ammo before venturing in an unknown area.

Re: Ubisoft "Satisfied" With Wii U Launch, But Notes Low Software Tie-In Ratios

Ducutzu

I think that Ubisoft did an outstanding job supporting the Wii U launch.

They put Assassins Creed 3 on the Wii U. Despite some (rare) issues, it runs very well.

Moreover, they finished Zombi U in time for launch - an amazing game that gave me nightmares and took weeks to finish.

Normally with console launches you usually get very short games that are clever, but get criticized for not having "enough content".

Both Assassins Creed 3 and Zombi U are very big and will last a long time.

Re: Nintendo Receives Zero BAFTA Game Awards Nominations

I honestly do not see why the LEGO games would be worthy of an award. Good games, yes, but award material? Do they contribute to advancing the industry?

In contrast, Nintendoland is something new. It takes considerable risks today to even try to come up with fresh ways of enjoying videogames.

Re: Talking Point: The Future Role of High Street Games Retailers

I buy from Amazon.co.uk because I am disgusted by GameStop. The employees that I met are not knowledgeable about simple things such as release dates. Moreover, they are big Sony fans that actively try to steer buyers away from Nintendo products. Even now, if you ask the GameStop employees in my local store about the Nintendo 3DS, they will tell you to keep your money for the upcoming hardware revision (?!)
