Re: Splatoon Producer Inks Out Reasons For Lack Of Voice Chat And Staggered Content Roll-Out

@NintendoFan64 It absolutely is a necessity.

I could play Gears Of War 3 with my friends, chat, and basically just enjoy a day of socializing with friends (as normal people do with the people they are close to), and I would like to do the same in Splatoon (in fact, I'd prefer it, the game itself looks marvelous!), but to play Splatoon with friends would be pointless, as I couldn't actually talk to any of them. Sure, I could install PC software, sign up to communication services, and buy PC voice peripherals, and hope that it would work as a proxy, but why invest all of that effort JUST because Nintendo was short sighted?

OR I could just play online with friends on Xbox 360 (where chat works effortlessly across all games), and just stick to playing single play only titles on my Wii U... =

Again, no voice chat for strangers, I understand (and respect) that. But no friend chat is ridiculous.

@NintendoFan64 Because I like to play games with my friends?

Isn't that what Nintendo's all-inclusive brand (since the debut of the Wii) supposed to be all about?

My two best friends live hours travel away from me in opposite directions, and we'd LOVE to play Splatoon together, but there's no point without voice chat.

I get no voice for random online (I only play online on my Xbox 360 with friends, and I always play with other players muted when I do so with game modes that include other players), but no chat for friends is absurd.

@SakuraHaruka Evidently many do find it interesting, but can you explain why one would want to watch another person play this particular game?

It's not a comedic game, and gameplay is simple walk forward and tap attack (and if you have auto-attack engaged, then all you have to do is press forward, and the game plays itself).

Re: Nintendo "Currently Investigating" The Idea Of A Region-Free NX

DroothR

Unfortunately, as much as I LOATHE region-locking, Nintendo has been proven right about doing so in the near past.

The Nintendo DS was region free, and now, just TRY and purchase a non-pirated copy of a DS game on eBay. Over 90% of DS games currently for sale on eBay (and even preowned in EB/GameStop stores) are knockoff copies.

I have literally no idea of how a region free console equates to such an over saturation of pirate copies dominating the platform, but Nintendo claimed it was one of the main reasons for using region locking on other consoles, and when they removed it, the piracy did indeed (and still does for the platform) reign.

@Gauchorino I did make a declarative statement, because I know what I'm talking about, which is something that I'm not at all certain that you are.

"You made a declarative statement, saying that the game doesn't mock Christianity, when it clearly does. It ALSO provides an example of how Christianity could be misused. Whatever the premise of the game may be, it still clearly and unashamedly mocks Christianity."

I've not seen any evidence while playing the game (on PC), nor heard any potential explanation from you as to how the game "clearly and unashamedly mocks Christianity". Can you please enlighten me with your perception of how your statement holds true?
