Re: UK Retailer GAME to Sell Tablet Devices

DePapier

You guys are right, GamePad cannot be trade marked, the Wii U GamePad can. It's like registering "book" in the book category, it's not legally feasible as intellectual property. I do believe, however, that by now Nintendo should have had every gamer believe Off-TV play to be represented by Nintendo so that they would automatically perceived things like the Vita's Remote Play, XBox SmartGlass, or the Archos GamePad as copies not worth of their time, rather than as devices and functionalities that further downgrades the need of purchasing a Wii U.

Re: UK Retailer GAME to Sell Tablet Devices

DePapier

And that's when I realize the name GamePad isn't even written anywhere on the Wii U GamePad.

I'm cool with supporting Nintendo, but seeing how unseriously this company is taking care of its stuff makes me wonder why I care in the first place. They create an environment for fans to support them (unique gameplay options, Miiverse, Nintendo Directs...) and they don't even let us be proud of the support we're giving because they don't act as if they cared as much as we do about their products. They think they are the only ones in the world because their ideas are so unique nobody can reach them, and they don't check IT when the industry is copying them while spitting on their face. Verdict: fans are here everyday doing the job of branding the company, facing trolls on a day-to-day basis that know nothing about the console, because the company tells NOTHING about it. I seriously think I've had enough. Nintendo HQs have to man up. When even Nintendo makes it hard for its fans to support them, I think there are reasons enough to quit.

Re: UK Retailer GAME to Sell Tablet Devices

That Archos tablet is called "GamePad," has been announced on August 29, 2012, and is already available in Europe. The Wii U GamePad has had its name confirmed at least since E3 2012. Sony would sue Kevin Butler for playing Mario Kart Wii, why isn't Nintendo sueing Archos for stealing their name GamePad????

...Am I really the only one this website so far who sees that something is wrong here????

Re: LucasArts Shut Down By Disney

DePapier

No...... I still remember Rogue Squadron on the GameCube... I think it's the one with the "assault waves" (vagues d'assaut) in which my brothers and I were always hiding in the hole, waiting to blast enemies off as they kept on coming...

Now, it was ten years ago, and I don't have any memories from LucasArts after that time...

Re: Review: Toki Tori 2 (Wii U eShop)

DePapier

If you guys had reviewed the game two weeks after release, going on Miiverse to ask for help would have made you give it a 8. Complaining the game is too hard is not right when you can have friends helping you out in a few minutes.

Re: Intelligent Systems Isn't Done With Advance Wars Just Yet

DePapier

I hope they could make a new one in line with Days of Ruin. Not the same characters, not the same story, not the same context, but something that once again has nothing to do with Andy and his band, because they have already reached the moon with Dual Strike on this concept, they can hardly go higher.

I have the feeling they were trying to turn AW into a Fire Emblem with the serious appeal and storyline of Days of Ruin, just like it seems to me that they turned Awakening into an Advance Wars with team attacks, fun and manga roster... (The game isn't released in Europe yet, I can't judge.)

All in all, I want a new Advance Wars which mechanics allow for a great array of characters, with a serious storyline, and some serious war appeal. Something that can drastically contrast with Awakening to show that the studio can do anything. (Advance on Mars, maybe?)

Re: Amazon Promoting Rival Consoles On Nintendo Product Pages

DePapier

Holy cow... I swear to God, Sony is sincerely pulling some heavy strings in the background to eff Nintendo out!!! And I thought that time was over!!!

They're paid by Sony, that's for sure. This is single-handedly the reason why I cannot put my money on a PlayStation product.

Re: Deus Ex: Human Revolution Developer Hopes The Game Will Boost Wii U Sales

DePapier

That's the type of attitude I want from developers on the Wii U. I don't care if the original is two years old, its update is as brand new as Nintendo's new console. Now we have Criterion, Eidos Montréal... Hopefully the list of studios will grow bigger even before Nintendo's first-party games come to the rescue, at what time they'll feel compelled to work their butt off.

Obviously, just like Most Wanted U, I'm buying the game day one.

Re: Video: Is This What Miiverse Will Look Like On Your Smartphone?

DePapier

I really hope they won't allow none-Wii U owners to post on Miiverse through their smartphones. We don't want no trolls on that social network, I'm already amazed at how many people over there can troll on the Wii U ON their GamePads, and WITH their Wii Us: you would wonder why they bought the console.

Re: Epic Games Rules Out Unreal Engine 4 For Wii U

DePapier

I don't think Nintendo has ever needed Unreal Engine for its games.

Once the Wii U sells exponentially coming this Christmas, our friend over there at Epic will reconsider for financial reasons. Then I'll be the one to say "Haha!! I guess money called you back!!"

We need to understand that third-parties are unreliable and only go for the money. Once it will be here, they'll start chilling down with us. And with Miiverse, we'll make sure to thrash them if they don't come up with a legitimate excuse.

Re: Video: Is This What Miiverse Will Look Like On Your Smartphone?

DePapier

"There's a chance that this may be the only way to access the service from a mobile device, "

No. Nintendo said they'll make apps later on in a Direct. If needed I can search this Direct for you, but this chance is plainly wrong. (Though I can expect my BlackBerry Torch to not be graced by an app but hey, at least I'll have the browser and it already looks ergonomic.)

Re: Monster Hunter And Price Cut Trigger Wii U Sales Spike In UK

DePapier

@Peach64 "I wonder what the reaction in the comments will be to this,"
Are you officially monitoring the way we react?

Now, at least with this kind of news SOME FOLKS will be able to stop whining, and I wouldn't be surprised if most of them don't own the system, which coincides with them expecting a price drop. But quite honestly, I'm starting to think this so-called "games drought" is a utter joke, from a Wii U owner's perspective, because I'm currently beginning to have so much to do. First of all, I have all those cheap Wii games stacking on my counter to be enjoyed: mind you I didn't even finish Metroid Prime Trilogy yet. Then when it comes to the Wii U: Nintendo Land and New Super Mario Bros U, still unfinished and still (and forever) enjoyable, Call of Duty Black Ops II available to whoop my 360 friend in a duel, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 to mess around with that PS3 friend while wearing my Jinpachi Toad suit... And now Lego City and Most Wanted U, and I'm not counting those hundreds of hours I'm expecting from Monster Hunter (that I enjoy on my 3DS, thanks)... Oh, I forgot the indie games: two-player Nano Assault Neo is a blast, by the way. And I can't believe I forgot those 30-cent VC games: F-Zero, Punch Out...

Tell you what: this is the reason why I made the concession of buying a Wii U AT LAUNCH: so that I could experience by my own means all the LIES gaming journalism is feeding us with everyday. The reason I'm voicing myself so hard actually is because I know some here do not enjoy the same experience: but as for me, the games are here and they are coming. They actually give me too much to do.

Re: Talking Point: An Open Letter To Nintendo

@yienwae That's really what I needed to read before taking off of that comment section. I'm really glad we have shown in this post what it truly means to be a Nintendo fan, unlike somebody who calls himself a proud early adopter after buying the console 2 months after launch.

I wish you all some happy gaming as I expect to enjoy my goofy Lego City Undercover and my upcoming next-gen Need For Speed.

@Lionsgate #66

What I think we need to understand is that, at this point in time, I don't think Nintendo wants massive PS360 fanboys on the Wii U. I can tell as a Nintendo fan that Miiverse would just not be what it is right now. First thing first, Nintendo needed the hardcore Nintendo fans to get the system. Just look at us right now: can you feel that passion? Can you feel how much we're supporting our system? First of all, Nintendo had to build that install base and it is definitely here.

I honestly just wanna say this: let's just wait for E3, where we're going to see Nintendo's Wii U games head-to-head with them PS4 and NextBox reveals to see how much there is such a low graphical difference. But most of all, I wanna see the faces of those haters when they'll see the pricing of that "next-gen". THIS is when Nintendo will have to unleash that marketing. At that time we will all be here enjoying our Wii Us, and laughing our arses off as more and more of those PS360 fans will be reconsidering what mattered so much in the first place: money.

And that price drop people expect: you can all dream about it.

@Rapadash6 #46

...I don't think Nintendo should go after third-party support. And that might be surprising, but I don't think Nintendo would want to support the way they produce their games. Nintendo wouldn't want to force third-parties to support the Wii U, hence bringing those half-arsed port we've seen so far. What we want as Wii U owners is an attitude as that of Criterion and Need For Speed Most Wanted U. An attitude like that of Eidos Montréal with Deus Eux Human Revolution Director's Cut. We want real ports, and you CAN'T force real ports. We want those developers to have some kind of geniune love for the console. I'd rather have those games and nothing else than seeing my Wii U turn into a PS360.

Re: Talking Point: An Open Letter To Nintendo

@Ambassador_Kong #25 That's absolutely true. I just have to go on Amazon to see Smash and MK Wii still being next to full price on the Wii, while Mario Kart Wii so far has sold what: 32.44 million copies as of March 2012??? Then look at Darksiders II and Batman Arkham City on the Wii U: they're already half-priced.
That AAA mentality is plunging the industry, and THAT is a fact.

Re: Talking Point: An Open Letter To Nintendo

DePapier

@kkslider5552000 #1 True that. Wind Waker is the best for me.
@Grubdog #2 You're absolutely right. As gamers we also need to believe in our own purchase. If we want the system to survive, we also have to do our part, and thankfully we have Miiverse for that: I for one is fighting to make sure we get on buying that Most Wanted on the Need For Speed community.
