Here at Nintendo Life we've made a firm commitment to bring you the best Nintendo news and reviews site we can, but we also understand that there's always room for improvement.
We would like to thank everyone who took part in our recent reader survey, as this has given us some great insight into what you like about the site and what areas can be improved. Thanks to your response we've already started work on the next major revamp, which we're confident you'll absolutely adore and will make visiting the site even more enjoyable.
We also take our advertising policy very seriously here at Nintendo Life, so therefore we're thrilled to be able to announce that we've partnered with Eurogamer to deliver global advertising across the site. Eurogamer is the biggest European gaming website and we feel that the team there understand our sites inside out, and can deliver the highest quality of advertising that all of you deserve.
Eurogamer Network managing director Rupert Loman said: “We’re very pleased to welcome Nintendo Life in to the Eurogamer family. The team shares our passion for video games editorial and has done an amazing job establishing a dominant position in the market. As with our partnership with Rock, Paper, Shotgun, we see this as a great opportunity for the commercial development of Nintendo Life.”
The new agreement should also provide us with the necessary funding to make all the vital improvements to Nintendo Life, helping the site continue to grow and provide you with everything you want from a Nintendo news and reviews resource.
We look forward to launching the next major revamp of the site towards the end of the year, and we sincerely hope it's everything you've ever wanted in Nintendo Life.
For full details of our agreement with Eurogamer - as well as those all-important contact details - please see the full press release.

just wondered all the staff with badges that do the articles and or leave comments.are you in charge or is there other people behind the scenes?
I am proud to be a nintendolife user
cONGRATUALATIONS
Congrats on the partnership, Nintendo Life! Great news. Looking forward to seeing what sort of changes will be made around the site.
That is awesome news. Congrats guys on continuing to produce such a great site.
@daznsaz most of the team is front of house, I guess I'm the only one that is acting mostly behind the scenes. You can always check out the about page to see the whole team.
Gratz! Good to see you're moving up in the world, but don't go changing a'ight?
(the way you report I mean)
it'll be nice to see what you guys come up with, as long as you get rid of those annoying 'around the web links' (or at least filter out the ones that lead to crap writing), I'll be happy
@YashaStepanovic yep, we'll be removing that momentarily!
Awesome, I was hoping that you guys would release the statistics on those various checkbox questions you asked. Oh & please tell me "site improvements" includes developing a better system for going through past news posts. Having to click "read more news" to only have it bring up the same latest news I just read, then scroll down to the bottom & then only have numbers to click on for other pages of news? It makes NL feel like a blog rather than an actual news site. Some sort of date system for going through old news would be appreciated. Just thought I'd put it out there since I forgot to mention it in the survey
P.S. & yay for no more alcohol & condom ads
One step closer to taking over the world.
I may not post much, but I assure I am here every day. Hope the best for the future of NL. =)
@WiiLovePeace yes, your suggestions sound quite reasonable to me!
As for the stats, we're tempted to release some as part of an article. I can tell you that only 5% of readers are female, unemployment is at 15%, most of you didn't want to say how much you earn, 19% of you have children and 51% of you don't drive
@5 thanks bit more clued up on the history etc.
@antdickens WOHOO!!! it'll be nice to be rid of those links, they get repetitive after a while, lol, also, those are some interesting statistics... I do have one question though, does unemployed include students or how does that work? or did you not differentiate? I didn't take the survey so I'm just curious
^amen to that
Great work guys.
@antdickens glad you agree & really only 5% are female? Guess NL will have to do more female orientated articles... Whatever that means :S haha
If your working with Eurogamer now, wouldn't it mean that the ad's on this site would be catered less and less for Americans?
@ToadFan Not necessarily, we Americans aren't so much different than our European brethren now are we? we kinda ARE all Nintendo fans here, regardless of our region, while the occasional ad may be for a game we don't have (I still remember getting annoyed everytime I came here and saw a Xenoblade ad), for the most part, it can cater to both, especially since such a large portion of this site's viewers are from North America
Thanks for all the support everyone! Very exciting times indeed.
It's brilliant to see Nintendo Life constantly growing and moving forward, I am always impressed by the commitment of the team in providing Ninty-based content for the site, as well as the graft that the Editors and Admin staff manage in the background.
All of your hard work has paid off with news like this. I look forward to seeing the improvements that you have planned for the future.
Heaps of congratulations on the Eurogamer advertising partnership.
Superb news.
regarding the female percentage, I'm one who didn't actually do the survey (sorry Ant, i got part of the way through, then we started e-mailing and i forgot to finish it lol)... there could be more of us hiding out there who just didn't respond to the survey for whatever reason :3
also, yay new ads! it'll be great to see more consistently game-oriented ones on the site D:
@ToadFan maybe in the short term, but Eurogamer are expanding their US operations which we hope will start bringing geo-targeted adverts once again in the near future!
Certainly from a UK (and Europe beyond that) perspective, Eurogamer are a very big fish indeed. With their expansion into North America as well, this is marvellous news for the future of the site. Definitely onwards and upwards
Congratulations on the partnership and I look forward to seeing what improvements are made to the site.
I don't mind video game ads since this is a game site. In fact the Skyward Sword ad looks really sharp. Any other ad just annoys me
@antdickens add a search feature to the forums
@timp29: Suggest something that he hasn't heard a gazillion times
Excellent, love this site. C:
Congratulations that's great news
Anything for a better site is good in my book.
i look forward to seeing what changes. besides a search feature for the forums the only thing I really want to see change is an ignore feature I can use for posters that are always negative.
Yay, better advertising. That's something this site could use.
Also, for all that is good Nintendolife needs better forums.
This has been my favourite website ever since I accidently found it! please don't mess it up guys at Nintendo Life! Oh and what about the T-shirts?
im a new member of nintendolife that just started yesterday I LOVE NINTENDOLIFE
a survey ??? im here everyday, and i didnt see it passing by !
the only improvement i see is a search option in the forum.
elseway, reviewers are top notch. the best out there for everything nintendo related products.
thanks for all those efforts
Keep up the great work. Love this site and community.
Congrats! Y'all deserve all the accolades in the world.
Gongrats, I visit here regularly too and even answered the survey.
Only thing i'd like to see is a mobile version, so it would be easier to visit the site using 3ds or phone.
5%, really? Wow, I feel special Just saying that as a female reader, I feel like this site takes a well-rounded approach to gaming, and I appreciate that.
@atj922 "Joined: Mon 11th July, 2011"
Sounds good, just don't turn into another IGN...
Nintendo Life is trully the best site for news and reviews.
Yes, Nintendo Life is the best, Nintendo should partner with them and make it their official site.
Yaaaaaaaay! Now the site will get mega-epic!
@SteveW whilst we're independent from Nintendo themselves we can be completely honest and open about what we think, we wouldn't want that to change now would we?
Is NintendoLife going out of business?
I can't help but, to feel like this is my fault....
Congrats Nintendo Life and it Great and Amazing Team of Game Loving Staff This site has made my Gaming Experience a whole lot better and this might just double or triple that!
@antdickens - You're right and I'd rather hear all the news and not have Nintendo hold back stuff
Congrats nlife ! Don't stop being awesome. I know you won't.
PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE don't change it too much!
This is one of the nicest designed videogame sites that I've seen, and just in general, that's very easy to navigate and laid out all nice and simple, with no really intrusive advertising or overly complicated comments sections etc.
I swear there's so little I'd change about this site so please don't go and try catering to a few hardcore geeks who want more useless crap all over the place, and sub-options and ways to get to this that and the next thing, that really aren't necessary.
The only piece of advice I'd give if you have to change the site is...THINK LIKE APPLE.
Congrats, guys. This has been my main site for info for the last three years, and I plan on keeping it that way. Thanks and keep up the good work.
@Kirk
You´re absolutely right! This is my favourite vg site.
@Samholy
Yeah, me too. Although I do tend to ignore most surveys to be honest.
@Luffymcduck
Yeah, this and GoNintendo are my goto sites for Nintendo news.
Also, this goes to NintendoLife staff; your site is a billion times nicer looking, better laid out, easier to navigate, more unified and nicer to browse than Eurogamer so please don't go using that or anything like that, or IGN or Gamespot etc, as your new format. Please keep with the same basic design and layout principles of the current site and just polish that wherever you feel it might be necessary but not in a way that makes it more complicated and cluttered with useless geek features, gratuitous links and random tables or superfluous stuff etc, that 99.9% of people don't really give a crap about and if added to the basic layout would ruin it for those 99.9% of people who just like things simple, clean and elegant, like the current site for the most part.
Wunderbar! Good to see we'll be getting more global news, now! Other sites just take stuff from Kotaku, Joystik, and other american centric sites.
Not a rumour. :fistpump!:
Congrats! Can't wait to see what new changes we'll see!
The website has a clear design, writers that know what they are talking about, and an epic fan base. I don't see any need for improvement! I just hope they don't pull a Gawker design change, I love it as is.
I don't see any room for improvement either, It's nice how it is.
Congrats NLife on producing such a great site.
@20 @24
Thanks, C:.
Oh wow, this website is going to be awesome! Hopefully this new enhancements will even outclass the newer Backloggery
Congradulations! You guys are doing an awesome job with the site !
This is a great big step in the right direction for a game site already great!
Good for you guys!
@antdickens - Can you and the rest of the NL team get rid of the "US" tags on the "Game Release" section and change it to "NA" when you are with the Eurogamer family? We all in this world want to be included and plus its professional too. I would also like to see way more coverage of Japanese games and related content. Its been ages since you guys announced a "Nintendo Download" update for Japan.
I'm not trying to intentionally give criticism, just offering these improvements.
Congratulations Nintendolife! You deserved it
Thank you for providing excellent reviews and influencing some purchases and the forums
Yay! Go NintendoLife! Congratulations! Further exclamatory sentences!
Cool beans man.
Cooooooool beans...
How long do we have to wait? The suspense is killing me!
I just hope the site doesn't become too flash heavy, as that can cause issues, and I won't be able to use my 3DS to access it anymore. A mobile version of the site would be nice as well as a PM system!
Sounds awesome.
Better advertising? Does this mean the long-awaitted return of the lamp vs. Female underwear illusion? One can only hope.
"and can deliver the highest quality of advertising that all of you deserve"
Well, nobody is interested in advertisements! Though I understand it is needed to fund the site. But I hope the site won't be flooded with advertisements now!
Anyway, I love this site. And I hope I can keep loving it, or loving it even more! Whatever you do, keep reviewing all the downloadable games found on the Nintendo services. That's what I particulary like about the site! Keep up the good work!
I've been pretty happy with the advertising, to be honest. I'm glad you guys are going to be getting some more $$$ hopefully. You deserve it.
What I don't want to see is the NLife site family turning into an IGN type site. I hate the way they're laid out. If you start doing those "Top Ten" or even "Top 100" (I've seen IGN do this) with every item on a separate page, or if I have to start viewing ads BEFORE I can get to my content, I'll probably not visit as much.
I really love the way this site is laid out, so I echo the hope for tweaks of ad content, polishing of layout, but no major changes. If it becomes a big cookie-cutter site placing ad-revenue above good content, well, I can get that anywhere.
"survey saaays"...
serveys are very important
congrats to this site
you all work hard
Yayz!
What everybody else has said - congrats, and glad you're increasing your revenue.
But, bar a few tweeks, I love this place as it is, so don't de-personalise and overcomplicate the site pleeeeeeese.
yeah no please dont de-personalize it as Mowzle said above me, i come here everyday and i dont want it to become a complicated chore after i get off work!
YAYYYY
I want to say congrats to NintendoLife Owners, mods, reviewers, members. I have a few ideas I would like that you all can think over.
1. More Retro Reviews for games not on the VC eshop, etc
2. A contest where a member writes a review for a game and your reviewers and editors go through and pick the best written one.
3. A youtube series dedicated to videogames (I can help with this one )
4. A weekly podcast that pick members can join
5. Read tips 1 through 4 again
My favorite of the 5 ideas is the 3rd one with the 4th one following behind. I hope you consider some of my ideas and start fighting to the death which one is the best of this small group.
^moar retro reviews rather on wii vc or not
moar Nintendo Power late 80's and 90's type stuff
Just make sure you don't have to resort to those extremely annoying autoplay advertising videos to pay for it.
YHAY! Good job Nintylife!
I am proud to be a NintendoLifer.
Congrats, everyone. I'm sure any improvements would be welcome.
Whatever happened to daz and damo? I remember they used to write the bulk of the reviews in the early days of the website. Or do they have different user names now?
@timp29 They're still here, Daz is Operations Director and Damo is Editorial Director. They don't write many reviews anymore, but they are very present on the site, overseeing it all and working behind the scenes
Maybe you could dust them off for a cameo article
@timp29 maybe In the meantime, you can click their names on our about page to read their recent reviews. Damien's had a few somewhat recently, in fact!
@timp29 yeah I'm still around, busy as ever behind the scenes. Prepare for my triumphant return to reviewing when Shinobi 3DS comes out!
Awesome
