Re: This Lovely White Super Smash Bros. GameCube Controller Is Up For Pre-Order From Japan

Copper_Kidd

@WaveWarlock Until Nintendo actually improves and evolves the gamecube, I'll stick with that. The pro controller is a step BACK in many ways. I see people bring this up a lot, people saying players need to evolve with the times. If the controller didn't evolve, and did the opposite, then by using that controller I'm playing in a less evolved way. The 2nd joystick placement is terrible for smash, the triggers are terrible, the face buttons are cheap and mushy, the triggers are non-pressure sensitive and not analog, and the joysticks don't feel so good compared to the cubes. I'm not trying to make fun of anyone or be mean or offensive, I'm just stating why many people stick to the cubes. Just cause Nintendo went cheap on their controllers doesn't mean we have to. On top of all that by the way, every button and joystick feels like it was shaped and positioned for smash specifically.

@Hero-of-WiiU It will definitely be better than brawl, the 3DS is better than brawl besides the fact that it's a handheld cramped version (screen, buttons and everything are cramped), but the play mechanics and speed are far better than brawl besides that. And the two matches I played at best buys E3 event of the U version were better than brawl in the 4 minutes of game time I had. I think it can compete with melee in certain aspects, especially the roster.

Re: Hands On: Wii U GameCube Controller Adapter

Copper_Kidd

None of those reasons are good enough to hold off on getting the adapter that let's you play smash to the best of your ability, let's be serious. Smash ain't the same without a gamecube controller. Yes, you can still be good with a pro controller, a nunchuck, a 3DS as a controller, a wii mote, a classic controller. But most people play even better with a gamecube. Every button is placed almost as if for Smash Brothers specifically. I'd be hugely disappointed to have to settle for a pro controller for smash. It gets the job done on mario kart for instance, but a gamecube controller would be better. Pro controllers are cheaply made, and other than being wireless are a few steps down in quality from a gamecube controller. Buttons feel cheap, and mushy to press, shoulder buttons are not so great, and the right joystick being above the buttons instead of below makes doing a quick smash a hassle cause you have to reach out of the way to hit it now. I've played the u version twice at best buy so I speak from experience, not just assumption. And yes twice is enough with a game like smash to feel out a controllers worth.

Re: Preview: Power Sliding Around The Legend of Zelda x Mario Kart 8 DLC

Copper_Kidd

SOOOOO happy they did SNES Rainbow Road again, just saw it a few days ago briefly but wasn't sure if I saw right, now I see it is confirmed. They had it on 7 which was great and all, but I will probably never play 7 again since I have 8. Can't stand Kart or Smash on a cramped handheld, as impressed as I am by both. Anybody know if the SNES Rainbow Road music will be the same as the original or remixed? I like the new 64 music, but wish I could have the classic music too. I'd honestly use that more. And I wish 64 was 3 laps like it's supposed to be.

Re: Feature: Does Super Smash Bros. Wii U's Smash Tour Live Up To Expectations?

Copper_Kidd

@SockoMario I see, didn't know there was a rule against such a thing lol. Short answers obviously don't offer much but they can lead to bigger convos, that's what I intended. On one site I visit you can like each others comments, if they had that option here that could alleviate a lot of short responses. Guess I have a lot of learning to do with the rules on this site lol.

Re: Feature: Does Super Smash Bros. Wii U's Smash Tour Live Up To Expectations?

@ikki5 You can play the regular multiplayer mode against CPUs which I find more fun than subspace, adventure, all star, or classic. But that's just me, I understand if you enjoy those modes (I do too to unlock stuff but after that I'm finished with them). I just couldn't sit there playing them much. I've been fortunate enough to have friends who play smash like I do though so I can't really say what it would be like if I didn't have that option.

Re: Feature: Does Super Smash Bros. Wii U's Smash Tour Live Up To Expectations?

Copper_Kidd

@Light Most definitely is mutliplayer-based. I can't believe people care so much about the single player modes. They are dandy and all, but I certainly wouldn't turn down smash U even if it had no classic or all star and only the multiplayer. Everyone has their own opinion of course, but I just can't agree with the people who actually find the 3DS version in ANY way superior to the U version. Controls, screen size, modes, options, anything.

Re: Feature: Does Super Smash Bros. Wii U's Smash Tour Live Up To Expectations?

Copper_Kidd

@Joruus_Cbaoth Smash run is boring on 3DS after a few runs. Smash Tour until played can't be judged. However, judging any smash game by the side games is just wrong. Don't say the U version is inferior to the others because you don't like a mode you haven't played. When it comes down to it, it's about the actual fighting and mechanics. And based on that alone the U version will knock both the 3DS version and brawl out of the park. Brawl is the worst in the series. It's only got an edge over the 3DS cause it can use gamecube controllers. 3DS is smoother and tighter and far more responsive. And the U version is even better (I played it twice so I can say for sure it plays better than the 3DS) for everything from better control options, bigger screen, proper joystick, and just about everything. Melee has the wave dashing and l canceling that all the people say are so important, so maybe that can have the edge over the U version for that reason. But don't bring subspace and adventure mode into the mix, cause honestly, most people beat those modes for whatever trophies and challenges they need to unlock, and after that are done with it cause the main multiplayer smash fighting is why most people buy the game.

Re: Poll: Buying Bayonetta 2 - eShop Convenience or Battling for Copies in Stores?

Copper_Kidd

Literally was chilling in my car for a few minutes with my friend mary j, and figured, hey I'm gonna go to best buy right outside my development, like 30 seconds away from me. MAYBE 45, and walked in, went to the back, and got a copy, and saw like 5-10 copies behind mine. On top of that, the cashier up front asked if I wanted to sign up for a credit card, and if I did I got $10 off. I did that, and she said I didn't get instantly approved so they will call me back in the next 30 days. I don't even have a phone at the moment lol. But yea I still got the $10 off right off the bat. And had no trouble obtaining my copy. So anyone who hasn't got it yet but is going to, and doesn't mind taking 5 minutes to apply for a credit card, can get $10 off on the spot. Not sure if they actually make the account for the credit card for you on the spot if you're instantly approved or if they have to call you and ask more stuff first, hopefully they latter. In my case I will just tell them I can't afford it or something when they call. Worst case just cancel the credit card if you get approved, I don't think there is a charge for that. But I've never canceled one so I wouldn't know lol. Anyway yea just trying to offer people a way to save $10 if they don't mind everything else. That's in U.S. by the way.

Re: Feature: Five 'New Things' We Want in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

Copper_Kidd

Yea due to putting in button combos it definitely can get more screwed up by lag. But being Ness, knocked off stage and in the middle of a recovery using your PK Thunder which you can't see cause you're off screen, but you know the time it takes to circle around to hit yourself with and propel yourself back, and all of a sudden lag kicks in, and even freezes for five seconds. No way you're gonna know where your PK Thunder is now lol. Happened to me a few nights ago. Ness has it real bad with lag I realized due to his third jump being manually controlled.

Re: Feature: Five 'New Things' We Want in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

Copper_Kidd

@Djreisat Dang man lol so there's just no way to avoid lag in smash brothers? That's all I want lol. Lag matches are meaningless to me. I'll play them, but I don't enjoy them, and I don't think it really proves who is better cause everyone's timing is thrown off so you can't see them at their best or you at your best. And that's what I fight for

Re: Feature: Five 'New Things' We Want in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

Copper_Kidd

@Djreisat I hope so, but after the direct I'm still worried. They said they left voice chat out during the actual matches to keep the connection the best possible, and recommended having a lan adadpter (which I have for when I'm at work) to use in case your wireless isn't so great. We'll find out in less than a month I guess lol.

Re: Super Smash Bros. for Wii U to Feature Grab the Coins Mode, Temple Stage May Return

Copper_Kidd

@Porky Yea found out it's time only with anyone. I HATE time matches. Just gives people time to run and spam and try to run down the clock. Stock is the only way to go for me. I had these 3 guys last year I kept getting connected to in brawl and one guy would fight while the other two sat there but if I got knocked near them they attacked me but not the other guy. Literally kept getting them as if they were the only online brawl players left. Haven't played it online since. 3 on 1 essentially, and it's pathetic.
