I'm so excited! He's added SO MUCH to the game since it came out that it's basically an entirely different game now. I hope he takes his time and also makes some progress on Haunted Chocolatier for the people who are chomping at the bit for that
@Coversnail That's exactly what I did. I figured it would be easier to secure a pre-order for the console-only SKU, since everybody and their mom was spamming the bundle. I didn't mind paying $30 extra for the game, since I would have paid hundreds extra to get the console from a scalper if I didn't get a pre-order.
Yeah, GameChat's awesome! The built-in mic is especially great for any online game that has voice chat, as it means I no longer need a headset when I play!
@milonorth I hope it's not too long, but there are other communities where the complaints have never stopped in years. Every single post about Rocket League anywhere on the internet is always flooded with "bring back trading" or some variation, so we may be seeing it for the long haul.
The good news is that group of people is relatively finite, so if you just block every one of those comments, after enough time you will have filtered out basically all of them. If it just keeps going, I'm gonna do that. Unless they block me first and take care of it for me 😄
@Discostew Yeah, they say stuff like that to attempt to inflate the problem to be bigger than most people think it is. The argument that games going from $70 to $80 or even $60 to $80 hasn't convinced most people who won't skip a game for the rest of linear time and instead just wait and save to afford the game. So the meta has become trying to make it seem like it's /really/ $60 to $90, if you squint realllllly hard.
@ozwally The important thing is if they don't bring over GTA V or VI, they were never going to bring them over. The myth that devs "test the waters" with some ports before deciding to bring others over is true in some cases, but we're talking about Rockstar and if they want to port them, they will.
I'll be playing almost entirely on Switch 2 once it's out, so if they don't bring GTA V or VI to Switch 2, that means I probably won't be playing much of either of them on Xbox, PS5, or PC, but that's Rockstar's decision to make and we need to respect that I guess. They'll bring them over if they really want to, and no amount of us buying Red Dead 1 or 2 is going to change their mind one way or the other.
@Purgatorium Social media? Maybe. SMS/messaging apps? Almost certainly. Period trackers? Absolutely. But on a game chat app? It sounds like you're not the target audience for this product and it's not a concern for you. Maybe you should take your concern trolling elsewhere.
@LuigiBlood For right now, Sony is okay. When they release a new console, then everyone will freak out about 1984 with them too. I do find the moral panic about chat conversations being recorded for moderation purposes kinda weird. What the hell are people saying to their friends that they're worried about being recorded-oh. Slurs. It's slurs, isn't it?
So infuriating that C-suite execs continue to be the stupidest people alive. Handed golden geese, CASH COWS, and just don't even know what to do with them.

@WhiteUmbrella If the Wii U was the fastest-selling Nintendo console at the time, and the Switch blew past that to become (almost so far, maybe in future) the best selling console of all time, then if the Switch 2 beats the Switch numbers, it's numerically impossible for it to be a failure like the Wii U
@PikminMarioKirby I mean, you're probably right, and that means it would be even more ridiculous. If most people don't use MyNintendo, then the numbers from retailers would theoretically be even larger. So the analyst numbers could actually be an underestimation
@Grumblevolcano This is good, as it provides another filtering method to weed out bad actors, in addition to making it friends-only, and whitelist-only for minors.
@rjejr Buying a second set? I already have 3 sets and I feel like that's conservative with all the colors, skins, and special edition Joy-Con out there lol
