@OctolingKing13 the motion sensor stuff is optional and can be turned off, making the alarm clock turn off by using the knob on top. It is a very expensive alarm clock though, but it's expensive enough that I haven't sent it across the room in anger at having to wake up.
It's a visual novel with tactics gameplay. Not sure what other people expected. All I saw of the game was a brief description on siliconera and I figured I would get the game when it came out. I don't know what was in all the trailers but the game is exactly what I figured it would be
@JayJ I'm going to argue that SOME Pokemon games have some openness to them. Black and white literally go in a circle. Rby give you a little bit of option on letting you choose which of like 3 gym leaders to hit in whatever order. Honestly for the most part, Pokemon games are more of a hallway simulator where you had down this route to this town to take on the gym and head to the next route to this gym so you can continue etc etc. Maybe with these new games and some smart planning the game will level based on where you choose to go with how many badges you have and let you wander off, which would be nice.
@stowrag shinobu is a fight you can't get greedy on. You have to take a couple of swings and back off. She isn't hard if you know what you are doing, but if you just go in attacking her like the first two, you are gonna have a rough time. She takes a lot more timing, kicking her when her katana is up to suplex her, only hitting with your attacks about three times before backing off, and moving around a lot when she is low health
@Retro_Player_77 well the games (without discount) are twenty bucks. Buying a used copy of either is more expensive than buying a new game about a month ago. I will take a better experience for twenty
@Dr_Corndog thing is... This man has been on the room and gloom train for nintendo sice the wii u came out, making comments that 'nintendo should go third party' and things of that nature. He makes sensationalist comments because they draw the gaming media's attention and boy do they eat it up. I forgot about the guy till I saw this article pop up. Honestly a focus on handheld only may not be a bad option for nintendo but to ignore the people who want to play docked is kinda lame to be honest. I play more in docked than I do in handheld lately because I am playing divinity original sin 2, handheld isn't the best for that game imo.
@Minish-Cap it's what the resi 2 remake runs on, it just really depends on how flexible the engine is with the switch hardware. I'm sure this game will look better than gen u because it's not based on a 3ds version.
@Kilamanjaro my only problem with the graphics in mhgenu was the fact that some of the armor looked like it was ripped straight from the 3ds. Just absolutely pixelated and bad. Gameplay was amazing, just I hated some of the armor looking like 3ds graphics stretched out on my switch screen.
@fafonio people are back and forth on hating super paper Mario. They either love it for the story or hate the gameplay. I rather the original two games myself but I don't hate super. I'm not a bug fan of the current paper Mario games myself but that's because it ditched being an RPG.
So that's what, 8 fire emblem peeps? No more please, even if his moveset is different from the others. If we are going to give another Nintendo franchise a character, don't choose from Pokemon, Mario, fire emblem, or Zelda. They have enough. Give us something off the wall like Chibi-Robo, one of the bots from custom robo, or something. Maybe just stay away from Nintendo ip?
@Jokerwolf there were some thing still rushed with sonic mania, like tails not having an animation in chemical plant zone when the chemical drips on his head at the begining of the act. Now it was implemented later in an update or by the plus dlc but it was always in the files for the game. Don't get me wrong, I think sonic mania is the first good move in years for sonic because while I loved generations and colors, everything that followed was kinda half baked or just meh
@Jokerwolf Sega had a fully translated PSO2 just sitting there. You think the lazy company is going to do anything unless a lot of profit comes with it? They do nothing but Sonic games that are rushed through to make a deadline, yakuza, and genisis collections. Sega for their genisis mini was originally going to use @tgames (the same people who make those drugstore atarisega flash backs that are super crappy and have bad audio and emulation) to make their mini console before people blew up on them for it.
@AtlanteanMan Oh you are breaking my heart right now, I love shining force 1 & 2, Skies of arcadia is a hidden gem on the gamecube even if the music quality is inferior to the genisis. Sega has nintendo levels of IP that they just have rotting on the floor because it isnt a 3D sonic game that they can meme the crap out of to keep in relevance
@AtlanteanMan If it weren't for microsoft throwing money at sega, we wouldn't be getting PSO2 in the US. Sega has been sitting on an english translation for years that they put out in south east asia. They said the game was coming out over here in 2013.. here it is 2020 and it is finally coming out because sega couldn't be bothered to have brought it over themselves. Also I would like a phantasy star rpg again please. Streets of rage 4 only exists because some indie devs decided to ask sega if they could make it, Sonic mania only exists because of fans. Honestly if it was left up to sega the only games we would get are Miku diva games, yakuza, and sonic.
Anyways lets face it, Nintendo is bad about abandoning IPs also (chibi robo, f-zero, custom robo, ect.) but sega is probably sitting on a mountain of them and just doesn't care. Nintendo fans at least get to see the franchises in smash in some form or fashion.
Holy crap what a dumpster fire of a comment section. All I will say is leave politics out of the reviews and comment section, all its doing is begging for a fight.
3 things that will cause a fight, religion, sports, and politics
@Torakaka any of the millions of Sega Genesis collections have streets of rage 1,2, & 3 on it. They really don't need an excuse to charge 60 bucks for 3 games
@Indielink honestly I don't blame people for freaking out. Everything online points out the faults and none of the positives. Yea I have big issues with the game, dexit being a major one, but as a Pokemon game, it feels better than x and y. So far at least.. it could get worse .. then you will hear me complaining more
@Kalmaro it would be nice to have options but that's just too much for gamefreak to program. I would like a difficulty switch, the option to control the sound of the game from the start instead of having to get an item, the ability to have male or female hair on either model but alas, gamefreak is 10 years behind the times and is wondering if people like using the second stick to move the camera right now
@Kalmaro yes but at the same time in the older games you could also just only use one Pokemon and have it get all the experience and have it one shot everything anyways because super effective moves don't matter when your Pokemon is level, a level 50 Blaziken will tear apart a bunch of level 25 water types. In general Pokemon games have never been that hard to beat unless your a kid who has no ounce of strategy or you try and stay in the games level range and don't blow past it. They are designing the Pokemon games since 6th gen to not require any grinding for better or for worse
@Kalmaro they aren't going to. The built the game around the exp share which is why the routes seem to have fewer trainers. Honestly in any Pokemon game you can over level yourself and sweep everything in the game, it's not just a problem in this generation, it's just been easier to do since gen 6
@Kidfunkadelic83 they have never had full teams except for maybe the final gym leaders. Even in the Pokemon league in gen V the elite four would have 5 Pokemon which is something I forgot until replaying white recently.
@Kalmaro honestly I haven't been a fan of the 'exp from catching Pokemon' mechanic that came about with gen 6. Pokemon let's go had problems with it to the extreme because that was just about the only means of exp outside of trainers and I decided to shiny hunt Nidoran at the beginning of that game. Honestly if the exp gain from catching was like a 3rd of what it is, I would be okay.
I had the game bought for me (mainly because I wouldn't buy it myself) and honestly the graphics aren't as bad as people are making it out to be. Yes some of the texture work is basic and could have used a little more detail but the game runs solid, the battles aren't lagging, and some Pokemon animations have been improved (idle animations mostly). Now some Pokemon animations look crap (wailord looks like a giant blue stiff bullet and double/tripple kick makes the Pokemon pop up and down in place while a foot print appears on the for) but most of the new Pokemon animate well and look good and maybe the back lash will grab the higher ups at the Pokemon company and gamefreak by the balls and help them notice that we want a bit more quality out of the games. Also the difficulty seems to be okay as long as I don't power level and catch too many pokemon at once. Gym battles feel rather cool and I like giagantmaxing (mostly because it is like megas) and don't care for dynamaxing (because they just turn into blimps) but the mechanic works and at least it is locked to just gym battles and raid battles (which are decent enough and give breakable tms called trs). I hate the guys back pack options and that guys don't have more hair options and you can't use the girl options on guys (at least for hair). I also want to look either like Yakuza or a greaser and the game hasn't given me the option yet so instead I am ginger with black souless eyes to make up for it
This doesn't seem like an 'attack' as you out it unless every shared opinion is an attack, because in that case your skin might be a tad thin. These all seem like thought out criticism of the game. If these seem harsh you should go read Eurogamer's review. It's pretty open on how bare bones this game is
Is it bad that I like the way this game looks? Not every retro style game has to go back to pixelated sprites. I'm just happy streets of rage is being made by someone who seems to care and they are getting the music leads back on working on the sound track. I loved one and two (never played 3 much) so I am hyped for this game to come out.
@AlexSora89 I think in the comics they may have been, but it's been over 20 years sinces the last time I really read a sonic comic. Either way I'm sure they are taking some creative liberties with it, which is fine, as long as they don't the entire thing
@johnvboy honestly I feel like they are still being a bit generous. It's lower then what I think their average score for a Pokemon game is, but it's definitely not paid for because they wouldn't have mentioned as much negativity as they did. I feel like this game is a 7/10 simply because this really doesn't feel like a great deal of effort by gamefreak, it feels more like a set up of a cookie cutter format so they can pump out yearly releases of Pokemon games to make the most profit
@Jaguar11891 they don't want to do all the rigging of models for Pokemon camp and probably don't want to cash out money for bigger cart sizes to store all the data the 500 or so pokemon would take up plus all of the corrections to moveset and balancing for their precious meta game that I think 3/4 of the player base don't care about. Personally I just wanted to keep my teams around so I can play with my friends. I've collected these pokemon and have used them since Ruby and Sapphire, it pains me to see them just get trapped in pokemon home
@ChromaticDracula you can't because the Pokemon don't exist in the data for sword and shield. So if your favorite pokemon in older games aren't popular like Charizard, then you can't use it in sword and shield.
Anyone else sick of seeing Charizard? It is only in there because people have such nostalgia for their gen one starter (apparently the only choice outside of Pikachu)
@Xansies that's part of the problem that makes it feel small. I feel limited to what seems like a small number of new creatures and everyone but my own favorite pokemon. (I haven't heard of this rumor for the post game, what is it may I ask?) I just feel like, as an older player, I'm being left out at this point, I know I'm not the target demographic but at least keep players like me in mind who have favorites they have collected since Ruby and Sapphire and have transferred them up, just to get stopped at sun and moon and told they can trap them in jail with the hope a future release well let them in.
@Xansies honestly most of my favorite pokemon were cut.. I don't play competitive so it really hurts me a lot to see them go. I can't bring my old ones up from the previous generations because they don't exist now so my hype for the game is dead. Yes yes new Pokemon should be something I look forward to but I tend to like a lot of Pokemon that aren't popular like medicham.
@sanderev they didn't apologize for banning the player. They apologized for something vague that they had done, promising to do better... About... Something? 'A tough hearthstone esports moment'. To be honest with you if I didn't know the situation I would have no idea why they were being sorry. They are sorry they got backlash is all it boils down to.
@Likethepear they mentioned in the direct that you will still be able to buy things from nook and there will be some kind of progression system. I'm figuring that in some amount of time shops open up on the island or something
Hey if we are adding Kotor, can we add in the content into the second one that got left on the cutting room floor? It really does polish up Kotor 2 and make it a better experience
@Xaessya ehh that would just make it feel like a crpg like fallout 1&2 or wasteland 2. I like that kinda game but I really feel pokemon needs to stay in the turn based battles it already has. Gamefreak doesn't need to pull a square and change the battle system in every game like they do to final fantasy.
I don't know if I need this or not. I just don't care for the pose it's in. I would rather something a bit more dynamic like Luigi posed with his flash light in one hand and vacuum in the other looking terrified as he walks forward looking for ghosts instead of hugging his flash light here
@TheLightSpirit it is nostalgia mostly. It's not a great game, the Pokemon are limited because of how much effort it was to have complex moving models. The game isn't one that would work in this day and age unless it was some vr game where you would wonder through forests and landscapes on a limited path to try and snap shots of pokemon. I feel like they have tried to please this crowd with the camera features in Sun & Moon and Pokemon go but to expect a sequel to that game I feel is a bit farfetch'd
@OptometristLime I complain if I'm not getting a product I think is worth the price I'm paying. I'm dealing with what at first seems like less product for more money. I can usually forgive paired back visuals if the game is fun, but when they have this big of a team and we are looking at crap texture work and cut out pokemon and features, it is worth complaining about which is why they came out and said that pokemon would be returning in later games. Now some of the stuff revealed here recently seems promising but if the end product ends up not worth my money, I won't buy it. I rarely wait for reviews for pokemon games but I may be doing so this time because game freak has shaken my faith slightly with some of their design choices
If they focus on the story and make this game a lot of fun, I will give gamefreak a bit of a pass on the nationaldex bull they are trying to get away with, but if this game ends up being a low effort 'baby's first' Pokemon game like Pokemon x and y, this might be the last Pokemon game I preorder. I'm tired of mechanics vanishing after a couple of games (or introducing mechanics just to ignore them like triple battles, rotation battles, sky battles, ect.) Just to give us something new that they will give up on next gen.

To be honest with you if I didn't know the situation I would have no idea why they were being sorry. They are sorry they got backlash is all it boils down to.
Re: Lack Of Animal Crossing Getting You Down? These New Horizons Booth Photos Should Help
@Likethepear they mentioned in the direct that you will still be able to buy things from nook and there will be some kind of progression system. I'm figuring that in some amount of time shops open up on the island or something
Re: Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast Publisher Has More Announcements On The Way
Hey if we are adding Kotor, can we add in the content into the second one that got left on the cutting room floor? It really does polish up Kotor 2 and make it a better experience
Re: Game Freak Considered "Changing Up" The Battle System In Pokémon Sword And Shield
Re: First 4 Figures Teases Its Luigi's Mansion 3 Statue
I don't know if I need this or not. I just don't care for the pose it's in. I would rather something a bit more dynamic like Luigi posed with his flash light in one hand and vacuum in the other looking terrified as he walks forward looking for ghosts instead of hugging his flash light here
Re: October 2019 Is Officially The Month Of Luigi
Let us have a Luigi background for our switch consoles to celebrate
Re: Reminder: Pokémon Sword And Shield's Mysterious 24-Hour Livestream Starts Tomorrow
Re: Around 1,000 People Worked On The New Pokémon Games For Switch
Re: Gallery: Check Out Some New Pokémon In These Sword And Shield Screenshots
If they focus on the story and make this game a lot of fun, I will give gamefreak a bit of a pass on the nationaldex bull they are trying to get away with, but if this game ends up being a low effort 'baby's first' Pokemon game like Pokemon x and y, this might be the last Pokemon game I preorder. I'm tired of mechanics vanishing after a couple of games (or introducing mechanics just to ignore them like triple battles, rotation battles, sky battles, ect.) Just to give us something new that they will give up on next gen.
