All of that sounds great, which is unfortunately why it will never happen. It's not that GF is allergic to good ideas or lack the passion, but these ideas just necessitate a development time that the franchise as a whole refuses to grant. Too many new plushes, cards, TV episodes, etc need to be released. And none of this is helped by the seeming stubbornness of GF to just expand their development team.
That said, what someone else mentioned about using spin-offs like they used to do (Ranger, Dungeon, Colosseum, Snap, etc) would be a great way to pad out time between games. Pokemon is such a great, wildly loved franchis and its just always a shame to see so many of our dreams for it, even ones that are near industry standard in other franchises, remain unfulfilled.
@Yoshi3 I swear us pre-BOTW fans are a rare breed. Like I enjoyed them sure, and can see why so many fans adore them, but like I have definitely missed the more classic feel of Zelda. Honestly my favorite Zelda is Link Between Worlds to this day.
I'm a sucker for 2D Zelda's so I'm a bit biased but I'm loving it so far. Not super hard, but finding my own way to solve the puzzles is super satisfying. A couple small nags like the item menu being less than ideal, not all the echoes are unique/useful, but overall a ton of fun. I personally love the toy aesthetic and think it looks great visually, framerates aside (though I haven't experienced any yet, at least not docked)
I'll be more than happy with just a more powerful Switch with a small little additional gimmick. A purely more powerful console would be boring, so I'm sure Nintendo will have something unique up their sleeve beyond just a power boost. Lots of interesting things could be done with that second USB-C (peripherals, connectivity etc) and hopefully the OS will have a bit more of that nintendo charm like the Wii, 3DS, and WiiU had (streetpass, news, mii channel, miiverse). Obviously we're not getting something crazy but I think that's a good thing.
I'm fine with a pretty modest revision so long as the software gets an upgrade. For as much as I love the Switch, it lacks a bit of that Nintendo charm in terms of UI. Basically... bring back Streetpass and Miiverse you cowards!
@dew12333 I think this comment is a bit harsh but I agree overall. It is clearly well designed and I'm having fun with it, but it lacks a certain human touch, leaving it feeling a tad hollow or corporate to me at times. Could possibly just be the theming of being a fan-service-y "hey isn't Playstation history cool??" that makes it feel more like an ad at times than an inspired work of art.
While I'd say it's definitely not a copycat, and even still, nothing is wrong with taking influence from the greats, it definitely does lack a certain soul imo that mainline 3D Mario games tend to have. Graphics and gameplay are obviously top notch, and I've personally been having a blast, but it lacks a certain je ne sais quoi at times imo. It feels somewhat less like a once in a generation game ala 64, Galaxy, Odyssey, and arguably Sunshine, and more like simply an excellent by the books platformer like the 3D world games. An easy 9/10 for me, but never quite enough imagination to make it a 10. I think the copycat allegations are reaching, but clearly the game lacks some of the ingenuity that keep it from being any kind of console seller, or genre defining game.
Seems like the real snowflakes are the people in the comments here. Imagine getting mad that a company and it's fans had a respectable conversation about a nuanced topic. No, it's not "Newspeak" to ask people to be tolerant, thoughtful, and open-minded, it's called being a mature adult. (Also friendly reminder that Orwell was a socialist
Im one of the only people on the planet who is still yet to play Skyrim. Can someone explain the appeal to me? Ive considered it so many times but never have enough interest to take the plunge.
Guarantee that this means closing the Raid glitch and not any actual quality of life improvements. Bet it'll run indistinguishably from before. Don't get your hopes up, people.
@princezorldo While I understand the complaints about the national dex etc, it does feel like the community now has grown so toxic that it will grasp at any and all straws as a chance to bash on the game. I especially don't understand the complaint that they're showing too much. I mean we haven't even seen the starter evos! The game is a bit of a disappointment because it could have been more, but at the same time, I am excited all the same.

Re: Mediatonic Wants To "Build Trust" With Community Before Releasing Fall Guys On Other Platforms
As someone who's only game playing device is a Switch, this can't come soon enough.
Re: Pokémon-Like Nexomon: Extinction Will Have 381 Monsters, And (Almost) All Have Now Been Revealed
Not expecting much of anything, but the designs look surprisingly decent from a quick glance, if a little derivative.

@DoktorTotenKopf You lost faith in humanity....because some people live busy lives and don't have time to waste playing difficult videogames?
Re: Poll: Did The Nintendo Direct Mini: Partners Showcase Meet Your Expectations?
I expected very little and was still left underwhelmed honestly. Hope there is another Direct with SOMETHING in store for the holiday season.

@Shadow0blivion Based on what evidence? Lighten up and quit inventing strawmen in your head.
Re: Review: Animal Crossing: New Horizons - An Accessible And Addictive Masterpiece
@the8thark Please no. Not everything needs to be like a Cinemasins review.
Re: Rumour: Unannounced Disney Action Game Remake In The Works For Switch
@JR150 Now that game is a throwback. Would definitely be interesting to see a revival of that series.
