Re: Video: Digital Foundry's Technical Analysis Of No Man's Sky On Switch

BadPlayerOne

They don’t state which version they tested. I already commented on their YouTube channel and I think this is a completely unfair and unrealistic review. Of course if you judge it just by comparing it to hightech consoles and PC the Switch version will fall behind. Still I played 500+ hours on PlayStation and now more than 50 hours on Switch and it’s a blast. Yes there are pop ups and visual glitches, but they are by far not as bad as they described. And their stress test is unfair. I built a huge base on my PS4 and when I enter te base it takes a lot of time for the base to visualize and every area I enter has major pop-ups.

Re: No Man Sky's 4.0 Update Will Be "Fully Focused" On The Nintendo Switch Launch

@Arawn93 Nintendo knew already 2 years ago that they are gonna make a Switch “Pro”. And again Hello games wouldn’t release their game on a platform that will not be able to support future major updates the following year. Nintendo is not going to abandon their Switch eco system with a new console. So it is not too far fetched to believe that developers already know more about the upcoming console generation. If you have a game of that scale you are not going to port it onto a system knowing you cannot run a near future update on it. You must know that there is enough potential in the future. All your mentioned games are near finished when released and will not and didn’t not get updates the size No man’s sky is getting several times every year.

@Arawn93 I guess you are not a No man’s sky player? The updates I talk about are the size of new games it’s ridiculous how big those updates are and that they are also for free. The games you mentioned are of a limited size they calculated that you need more than 500 billion years to be able to visit every planet in No man’s sky. That is the scale of game we are talking about.

Re: No Man Sky's 4.0 Update Will Be "Fully Focused" On The Nintendo Switch Launch

@Arawn93 Because there is almost no game developer that provides the same amount of free major updates like Hello Games. Every year they release several big updates every other company would expect to be paid for and if the hardware is now already at its limits how will they be able to include those updates on switch? They wouldn’t start a project like this without the reinsurance that they will be able to include those updates for the coming years.

Re: Head Of Xbox Shuts Down Idea Of Game Pass Coming To Other Platforms (Again)

Funny when a closed platform says something like that about other closed platforms. I don’t want game pass on the Nintendo Switch. Microsoft is destroying the gaming industry by promoting a service that is never going to be profitable only creates losses. It’s purely built to bleed out the competition and take control over the whole gaming industry.

Re: Metal Gear Creator Hideo Kojima Is "Afraid" Of A Future Without Physical Media

@LeighDapa I don’t think digital copies are better they are more convenient. Quick download and quick access, but in the end you don’t really own them. And I don’t buy a physical copy for every digital game. Only for the games I really love. The same for music I buy a digital copy for convenience and to play through my mobile devices, but when I really love an album I buy the vinyl version to really own it. Same with movies and books. I am an old man. When I was a teen they still made vinyl records and CDs were not even on the market. Yes that old! So for me I only own something when it is physical.

I often buy games digitally and if I really love them I also purchase a physical copy just to be sure I won’t lose the game in the future. I don’t want to be dependent of any gaming company to keep their services up. So as long as I have my console and it is working I also have the game to play.

Best example is the PS Vita and the store shutdown. To be sure I bought physical copies of many of my games I only had digitally.
