I received the SLG physical version a few days ago. As a long-time fan of the series, I’m more than happy with the purchase. The fact that you can now purchase it digitally, with a physical release incoming via Japanese import? Great! More people should have the chance to own this!
Price shouldn’t factor into a review. By that logic, if this drops to $10 in a sale, does that make it the greatest game ever?
@SilentHunter382 Exactly. Good luck trying to get a regular price release from those guys; a €33 game turns into almost €60 with their bizarre shipping costs.
Bought it earlier today, it’s got an arcade feel to it, and when you thump someone it really does a good job with the impact, but the enemy AI will infuriate you with the way they dodge around like crazy. That said, beating fools senseless with Clubber Lang is very rewarding.
I wanted to post one comment here, which is that I played the first Life is Strange on PS4. I didn’t like it because the main character always moaned about the alternative when you made a choice.
Nothing to do with gender, it was just a hollow experience based around a character that was completely bland.
@gojiguy The BBB needs to be called in on this. Dispatch were quick to take people's money, but they've no problem ignoring questions from genuine customers.
@GrailUK Pass a law where it’s not permitted to sell anything on eBay unless you have the item in hand, and you must have photographic proof that the item is ready to ship.
@Supadav03 I recommend to watch some gameplay on YouTube before deciding. The reviews on here are suspect at best (remember their Adventure Time review?), and as someone who owns the game, I can assure you that it’s better than a 4.
Don't believe all that you read. Gamestop Ireland has listed Dragon Quest Heroes I & II on its website since the European launch of the Switch console. They still say it's coming soon, but the fact of the matter is that it won't, because it's too expensive for third-party developers to distribute a game of this size (almost 32GB).
The Heroes collection is one of the main reasons that I bought the Switch initially, but the fact that we never even got a localized digital version means that it's the expensive Japanese version ($70) or nothing.
@Gerald Rallycross and buggy races are very good in this, but the rally tracks are so narrow that you'll be bumping rocks in no time, flipping your car multiple times over.
This is as far removed from Sega Rally as can be. In fact, I'm suffering from thrush at the moment and V-rally 4 still manages to irritate me much more. Save your money, this game will plummet in price very soon.
The learning curve and handling are both horrendous in this game. I had high hopes for this, perhaps too high, but as fun as the rallycross and buggy events are, the standard rally mode will crush your enthusiasm as you spin around at every corner (when you don't hit a stone that flips your car right over, that is).
More Dirt Rally than Dirt 4, sadly. Games are supposed to be fun, not a headache and a chore.
@electrolite77 3DO version still remains a great game! I have it on the original Playstation and the aggressive soundtrack really adds to the feel of the game. The only thing it lacked was a split-screen option. Then it would've been perfect. If Road Redemption can do what Road Rash did back in the day, then I don't know why it's not in my collection yet.
Ridiculous strategy by Nintendo to release three NES games per month. For those who are interested in this Netflix-esque service, and not online multiplayer gaming, where is the incentive for them to sign-up now as opposed to 12 months from now when they have more choice (and perhaps more formats)?
I wish the reviewer would just be honest with everyone. It takes forever to load when you have to restart and boss battles take ages to load as well. Why don't you tell everyone about all the problems this game has? Big day one patch fixed none of this. Save your money until this is properly fixed, people.
Played it some more, and despite what seems to be a slight frame rate drop due to the raindrops, I recommend this as Milestone's finest Switch outing to date (and I liked their previous two games also, but this one is faster for sure, and looks better too), even if it makes the Switch very warm. 8/10
The game plays good enough in handheld mode, better in docked, but the rain effects are just terrible. I didn't expect it to go toe-to-toe with the PS4 and Xbox 1 versions, but still...

Clearly, non-gamers are making these ridiculous decisions.

Those loading times are a killer. Graphics aren’t an issue when you’re just striving to keep on the road.

Am I the only one who misses the classic Namco logo? Every time I see it, I instantly think Ridge Racer, Tekken and Klonoa.

@kategray You’ve really gone all-in with this game; is it so addictive?

SO regrettable that we couldn’t get the Capcom Aladdin game added to this. Will we ever see it legitimately on Switch?

Re: Dispatch Games To Send Digital Codes As Customers Await Delayed Physical Orders
@SwitchForce Could the download codes be their way of indemnifying themselves to some extent? Shockingly bad behaviour from this terrible company.

That should put a dent in these gouger’s plans.
Re: Feature: How A Donkey Kong Clone Almost Scuppered Nintendo's Ambitions In The West
I absolutely loved Crazy Kong when I was a kid. The music pieces were much more catchy than Donkey Kong, too.

@MachomanSavege The roster in that game is irritating to me. Austin Idol? Colt Cabana? The bWo? They can’t even keep the timeline straight.

Limited Edition will be music to scalper's ears, especially coming into the Christmas period. Hopefully this won't be another NES classic situation...
Re: Rumour: A Western Release Of Dragon Quest Heroes I & II Is Looking Even More Likely
Fake listing. Gamestop have had it listed for years now, and the size of the game (32GB card) means that it would likely be very expensive.
Shame as I'd love to get it, personally.
