Back in April, Super Rare Games announced a handful of upcoming physical releases for the Nintendo Switch. One of these was the Deponia Collection - made possible with the help of Daedalic Entertainment.
The physical distributor has now confirmed the collection will go on sale next week on 16th September. There'll be 4,000 copies available, which includes 1,000 collector's editions. Here's what you'll get on the cartridge:
"FOUR games, all on one physical cartridge! Deponia Collection brings together all the Deponia graphic adventure classics (Deponia, Chaos on Deponia, Goodbye Deponia, and Deponia Doomsday)."
And the collector's edition comes with a giant 208-page hardcover art book, a CD soundtrack, trading card full set, sticker sheet, collector's box and standard game. Here's a look at that:
Will you be adding this physical release to your Switch collection? Tell us down below.

Awesome! I just got to snatch it for myself!
I will be on my toes and snatch a copy in the first minute after it goes on sale!
For those interested, be aware this is an expensive physical release.
The individual digital games go for £17.99 and the physical price reflects that: £64.80 for the regular game, and £112.80 for the fancy collector's edition.
Ah, I was hoping for a regular physical game to cut down on storage space a little, but that's way too expensive even for the regular edition.
On actual game box there are tons of logos. It's ugly.
I know they have to comply with the rating symbol, but they put even more stuff that didn't belong there. Awful work.
Just make 1 copy, hold on to it for 30 years and sell it for a million bucks...guys please don't fall for this kind of "limited" thing they always do nowadays. Most of these limited run games (not talking about Deponia which is actually good) aren't worth getting at all.
@RupeeClock Eh, I brought the first Deponia on digital sale for £1.79! So does seem kind of expensive to me when they're willing to reduce the individual games by that much...
@Clyde_Radcliffe
Yes, it did strike me that they might deliberately avoid digital sales for the duration of this physical release.
I am super tempted to get this.
Oh nvm they are a uk company which means vat and import fees. >.<
I've seen rarer.
I want this so much 🥺
…are they nuts with that pricing?
@SilentHunter382 Exactly. Good luck trying to get a regular price release from those guys; a €33 game turns into almost €60 with their bizarre shipping costs.
Why is this one this expensive?
I was tempted when they announced it last feb/march, but not anymore. 90 euro’s for a collection of games you could have gotten for 15 bucks when they were on sale. I usually buy games physically when given the chance, but this is too big a difference for me.
As much as I lean towards physical, these 4 games regularly go on sale for $2.50 CDN in the eShop. $10 vs ?
“Do you suffer from severe FOMO?”
Then have we got a deal for you…!
I think all the Deponia games were on sale for $2-4 USD each a week or two ago on the eshop. This is really a steep price for these games…
Shhhhh. Let people buy what they want. Almost all of limitedrun and superrare games are super cheap online. This is essentially for people who want to collect or would prefer a physical copy (like myself).
I'll get the big CE and buy the other two separately since there is no Steelcase here.
I'm not sure what you guys are talking about, the Deponia games are often on sale for peanuts on PC, but on Switch their regular prices are so expensive that even 75% off would be over $10 each.
The regular edition of this cartridge is roughly the same as the normal digital price for Deponia 1 only.
That said, they are fantastic games. If you like point and click adventures, Deponia is Monkey Island 3 level of quality.
This isn’t about fomo or tricking people into buying pretend limited edition games. It’s for that comparatively small number of people who would really like a physical copy of a game and are willing to pay a premium for it even if it’s available much cheaper digitally. I’ve bought a few things from Super Rare Games and a decent number of titles from Limited Run Games for no other reason than I wanted a real life disc or cart to hold in my hand. I’ve never cared if it was limited to 2000 copies printed or one they made a bunch of due to high demand during a LRG month long preorder. All that mattered is if I wanted that particular game. They could flash a wild “500 copies only” message about a game I don’t care about and it would do nothing for me.
@N64-ROX regular prices, high - yes. Sale prices on eShop - low: https://www.dekudeals.com/search?q=Deponia
Will try to snatch one standard Ed. myself as I love collecting physical copies 😍
And the prices will almost double once it is sold out 😕 That’s for sure.
