Numskull Games and Spike Chunsoft, Inc. have announced that a tactical adventure game based on Re:ZERO − Starting Life in Another World, a light novel/anime series popular in Japan, will be released on Switch.
The game's full title will be Re:ZERO - Starting Life in Another World: The Prophecy of the Throne, and it's set to be released both digitally and physically. You'll be able to pick up either a Badge Edition or Collector's Edition, both of which are detailed below.
The Badge Edition includes 4 exclusive, limited run only original pins in a display box, featuring Emilia, Subaru, Rem, and a brand-new character yet to be revealed! These are exclusive to physical copies of the game and will not be reprinted, so pre-order today!
Everything listed above, plus a full-colour art book including concept art, sketches, and commentary with a special foreword from the creators, a SteelBook collector's display case, the official soundtrack containing original music from the game, and the Collector's Edition outer box!
We also have the game's official story description for you below. Have a read through and see if it sounds like your cup of tea:
One month after Subaru's new life in another world began, an emissary sent by the royal castle suddenly appears with news that the royal selection has been postponed, but offers no reason as to why. The postponement of this grand event that decides the next ruler of the Kingdom of Lugunica stirs Subaru and his friends into action. They return to the royal capital only to find that a sixth candidate has claimed their stake for the throne. But the Dragon Stone prophesizes that only five candidates would be chosen. With one candidate being an imposter, suspicions are immediately cast toward one woman in particular: Emilia. What answers lie beyond the mysterious web of assassinations, betrayal, and conspiracies...?
We don't have an exact release date for this one just yet, but it's scheduled to launch on Switch this winter. Pages for both the Badge and Collector's Editions have appeared on Amazon, but neither are available to order just yet. Make sure to keep checking back if you're keen on grabbing a copy.

Oh jeez, those funko pop-like character models are very unpleasant. Wonder how well the material would lend itself to a tactical RPG.
I can't wait! I would like to see some gameplay first though before buying.
Another day, another Isekai.
This anime is a happy friendly slice of life where nothing bad ever happens. Nothing
Rem best girl!
i might check this out just depends on reviews.
Can't wait to try this game. Wonder if she will kiss or have kids with him during the game????
@Anri02 yeah... totally ...
@AFernandes03 Technically I’m right
@Anri02 The main character is so overpowered! He never dies!
That's all well and good but...Who's Rem?
@Aurumonado Blue haired demon lady. To be fair she is the best character in Re:zero
Can we pet the cat?
(and i am not talking about Puck)
Fab news, gives me hope of the KonoSuba game coming over here which I really want to play.
I love anime, I love this anime.
I have no idea how you turn this series into a tactical adventure game without taking massive liberties with the characters and story.
@TechaNinja Rem who?
