Last year we shared videos of some fun minigames that fans of Super Smash Bros. were creating with the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS releases. On the home console version we showed you Smashketball, which utilises the stage builder to establish boundaries of cannons and lave - if you hit an opponent into the right barrel they're fired to their doom.
A less strenuous game to setup is Smash Potato, which works in either version of the game; each playing as a Villager, you attempt to pass a tree back and forth without losing your timing. A relatively recent video takes that basic idea and twists it again, with Falcon Potato. With one Captain Falcon, two Marios, timers only in items and a boosted launch rate, those playing as Mario activate a timer and then bat a slow-mo Falcon Punch back and forth with capes. The loser gets splattered off the screen by the resultant punch, making it the most deadly iteration of pass the parcel in gaming. Possibly.
It's a fun game that's easy to setup - check it out below and let us know whether you're planning to give it a whirl.

That was pretty cool. Never would have thought to do that in the game.
Wow that actually looks pretty fun.
Good Falcons will alternate between Falcon Punching, then spin falcon punching for added confusion.
Very Creative. Actually looks kind of fun.
This looks so much fun!
I need to try this one day with some friends.
What a coincidence this shows up, i was already subscribed to that channel. They also made up "Stressful Battles" which is setting health to HP and turning damage display off. The only indication you're low on health is that you start to steam and flash red. It looks fun.....if only Smash 3DS had special battles...
In case anyone wonders again why Super Smash Bros is the greatest fighting series around. It was already a "more games in one" thing way back when the N64 entry came out, but it progressively became it even more (Melee, Temple Race), and more (Brawl, Subspace Emissary), and more, and more, and more. In case the Masterpieces don't cut it for you, there are even more game modes you can come up with yourself!
Lol.
@TeeJay I myself tried that out several times once. It's fun and tensed. Despite the indication that you're low on health, it's always a surprise when the final blow is dealt.
What a funny game. I want to play this!
I love Troy's channel. He's more of a MKWii channel than anything else but sometimes he'll do something like this
This is exactly what I love about Smash. So many minds being creative and making fun things like this.
Wouldnt it be easier to set the speed slower in special smash settings?
@TeeJay The 3DS version has special smash battles, but only on Smash Run.
It looks kinda fun, I'd probably get bored with it in about an hour of doing it.
I hope someone soon puts together a list of the best Smash bros. Wii U meta games. These are so fun
The best thing we had for a meta game on Melee was trying to make the black hole glitch. We haven't done it in awhile now I think about it
@Squid The idea is to have Captain Falcon at slow speed, and the Mario's at normal speed.
@Seanmyster6 Ohhhhh. Duh.
Does anyone know when the update that allows us to share stages will be released?
For those of you that don't know, this is from the channel, TWD98, he is called the Mario Kart Master as he has done some absolutely amzing things with Mario Kart Wii...
@Takerkaneanite6 He's certainly a very popular player, but the younger part of his audience tends to exaggerate his skill.
@MrL1193 It's more the unusual things that he has done in Mario Kart Wii, like the glitches and the Olympic videos...
@Takerkaneanite6 Yes, that sort of exploration seems to be what he enjoys the most; he plays for fun more than anything else (which is a pretty good attitude to have in gaming, of course). He is a good player, but it just bothers me slightly when people act like he's the only good player out there. There are many others who have put a lot of time and effort into these games who also deserve respect.
I think Ganondorf's Warlock Punch might be better or at least interchangeable. It's slower and hits harder, leading to longer and more intense caping. Get 4 guys in there (2x Mario, CF, and Ganondorf) and just alternate between the two.
It's not the most deadly iteration of Pass the Parcel. It's the most deadly version of Hot Potato.
ZINGERZ!
I never understood why people bother to throw the potato (or cape the falcon) until the last moment. This still looks like fun for the novelty factor though
This isn't hot potato it's Russian Rulette
Punchin Roulette
Falcon Punchette
Still think Falcon Potato sounds better
