Miiverse, the ever evolving and quirky bespoke social network, has had a couple of minor tweaks to the web version. Despite some occasional shenanigans such as those in the Mario & Luigi community recently, the service continues to provide a haven for fans to discuss games, share screenshots and art as well as — it must be said — talk some nonsense.
Our old pal Marty from Nintendo of Europe has today posted a fresh update on some tweaks, which improve search functionality and relocate the search bar — details are below.
It's not the most thrilling update, but as many undoubtedly jump onto the web version on computers and phones it's welcome nevertheless. Will you remember where you were when the search bar got moved?

I don't use miiverse, but I'm glad they're constantly updating it and improving it.
I wish the VC would get this much love.
All I got to say is, Miiverse suck. I'm currently on probation for 2 weeks for putting my email (This was when Smash Bros. demo was announced) — There's to much control on this crap. Instead of fixing there whole network, there doing this.
@kereke12
It's one of the main things you are told not to do.
Not too bad of an update, but irrelevant to me since I use my Wii U for Miiverse.
@PAAppleyard Yeah, they seem more interested in Miiverse than the Virtual Console (guess it's easier to do)
I don't hate Miiverse but I also don't use it on a daily basis. I also, don't use it anywhere but my Wii U.
The one upgrade I'm always hoping for, is stamp integration outside of the game in which you collect the stamps. For instance, why can't I use my stamps that I collected in Super Mario 3D World to post something on the Mario Kart 8 board? It would be a really cool achievement system if they allowed people who collected the stamps to use them throughout Miiverse.
But who knows, maybe it's just me that would like this????
@dkxcalibur I'd like that, but it would need a few restrictions since it would be weird seeing Mario Stamps in Communities like Zelda. Maybe they can make it so stamps from Mario Kart/3D World are only permitted in Mario Communities and have stamps from NES Remix 1/2 work for the VC games that were showcased in the games.
Ooh, I'm glad I can finally search for users on the web version. It is was kind of annoying to have to use the 3DS or Wii U version whenever I wanted to search for some one.
I'd like to send/recieve messages on the web version.
@PAAppleyard Greatest avatar.
I feel i'm the only one here who uses Miiverse constantly. (Not now since im still banned)
They need to make an app for smartphones
@Iggly Actually that's exactly what I want. I want to be able to post a little sketch of Mario fighting a metroid or Link jumping over some DK barrels. I want to be able to use the stamps that I collect in game, where ever I want. The one thing I miss about being on my 360, is the achievements. I like earning the achievements while playing and looking at everyone else's. Nintendo's stamps would be an even funner way of doing achievements.
I was just talking about something similar on Miiverse yesterday. I feel that Nintendo really missed the mark with the stamps. I don't get excited about unlocking them at all because I know that I can only use them on posts in that game's community. It would have been so much cooler to have a stamp collection and be able to show off the ones you've unlocked all over Miiverse.
... How do you search for users in the 3DS version? When I tried to find users, I used the web version by typing Miiverse.nintendo.net/users/theirNNID. Couldn't find the user search button on 3DS.
@Sforzando Click on user page then click on user menu and the option is there.
@kereke12 You only have yourself to blame. You broke the CoC and you have to suffer the consequences.
They need to put the private messages feature in the Web version.
@gatorboi352 I actually don't know why they allow PM in WiiU but not in the 3DS and web versions.
id like it better if they removed that DAMNED posting restriction!!!
@dkxcalibur
that sounds great but then if Ninty did that then that would become almost a necessity to all Wii U games to have stamps in them. Could you imagine looking for stamps in stuff like Devils Third or (Heaven forbid) any third party games and VC games would be coming out even slower than the snails pace they are now to include the Stamps.
I don't read it for the user posts since there is a lot of weird spam like content and childish posts.
But the verified user posts are awesome and it's great to be in direct contact with some developers who are active in Miiverse. I really respect those developers who keep posting and having good discussions with people. For example Renegade Kid's pr person had some really nice replies. Also Brian Provinciano seems active there, shame he is not making a Wii U version of Retro City Rampage.
Nintendo needs to do still a lot of work, 3DS and Wii U friends list needs to be unified so it's the same in both, there needs to be possibility for private messages on both platforms, either in friends list or through Miiverse. If Miiverse then the PM should be in the web version as well. They need to work on this whole communication network on being more user friendly.
i always find it annoying when they do updates to stuff that maybe it doesnt need as much attention lately after browsing a community it tells me "need to reload page" but the page seems fine to me its so annoying then it goes all the way back to the top -_-
another thing is the activity feed idk if maybe im following a tons of ppl which i doubt but it never loads right some post only show up after hrs of ppl posting something
oh and they ban the wrong ppl at times... mention "deviantart" or friend codes and it will get delete...but ppl spamming " anyone single? and want to RP" is ok .-.
@Yurikun I wouldn't force a game to have them but if they did, I would make them usable in Miiverse. Plus, I doubt it takes a lot of time to integrate some simple stamp graphics into a game.
