I do hope it isn't over €20.. I really like the game, it was the first zelda I played, but ful retail seem a bit steep to me
If it was a straight port then I wouldn't expect too pay much but if they are enhancing everything then I expect no less then ten dollars less then retail price. They aren't going to do all that work for a discount price.
That's true I quess, and maybe €20 is on the low side. Once it's out I'll want it anyway. This is the first time a game I already have has had a remake, so that's probably why I hope it won't cost to much.
I hope they show some bosses soon!

This picture makes me wonder if anything "new" will be added to the game that wasn't in the original; aside from Miiverse and stuff like that. I mean, I don't remember a time when Link and Tetra (or Sue-Belle for that matter) were together like that on Windfall Island; chances are this picture alone is just for visual aid but what if it's more than that...?
I hope we get both- some HD remakes and the Gamecube VC. 'Renown' games would get the HD remake treatment and lesser known titles would get released at the VC. As for the Wind Waker HD remake, I have never played the game before and I can't wait for its release-these screenshots look magnificent!
Yeah, although it looks a little sad so far for the future of Gamecube VC or I guess they could just be doing this because Wind Waker truely deserved this treatment and would benefit because of it's cel-shaded graphics. If they are going the remake route though and make all games this beautiful and full retail, it would be nice if we could get a digital copy of the original for VC as well...
I actually just played through The Wind Waker recently for the very first time and really enjoyed it. It's probably my second favorite LoZ game that I have played. I actually played it on my Wii (never owned a Game Cube) and I remember thinking to myself just how good it looked. The cell-shaded look and art style really holds up well even after all these years. That said, this HD remake looks EVEN BETTER and I will definitely be buying this. I'm hoping for a retail release, but something tells me this will be a download-only game.

Don't worry about download only. A game this big made by Nintendo will be retail no doubt!

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
The backgrounds look amazing, even if I'm not a fan of the odd Mii/Lego style characters.
So, do I get this, Twilight Princess or Skyward Sword first?
My Zelda experiance is so far limited to the N64 titles on Wii VC.

Twilight Princess or Skyward Sword, since those are currently out and this isn't. You can then buy this game when it's released, and the new Wii U Zelda game when that's released.

probably not just for visual aid. They like to add more to the remakes.
Curious about the gameplay tweaks. A whole new dungeon would be amazing (if unlikely). Not sure about the artstyle changes, looks like they're over-using the bloom effect. I really want to see some videos. Given that this is my favourite game of all time, I'd say it's pretty likely I'm buying the remake.
Probably no chance of seeing a Skyward Sword control option for this game huh?
Adding to what Big_L91 said before (post 32), the whole combat system would have to be reworked to support it since the amount of sword skill required (due to precision strikes) was much lower in Wind Waker compared to Skyward Sword. Sword usage didn't have that much emphasis in boss battles either in Wind Waker (other than spam after hitting enemy weakness). One exception to this rule was the Ganon fight but that had a heavier focus on counter attacks and parrying.

Good point: maybe Skyward Sword should be my next Zelda. I loved Red Steel 2.

Make it so. With Red Steel 2 and Skyward Sword Nintendo totally delivered on the motion control premise. Sadly, most people had moved on by then. How I wish a Star Wars Red-Steel-2-esque WM+ game was released.
I've seen some comparisons between Wind Waker HD screens on Dolphin, and this official re-release by Nintendo, and I have to say I prefer the former, visually. Of course, If I wanted the same graphics I could just be booting up Wind Waker on my Cube, it's timeless anyway. I'm sad they got rid of some of the cel-shading though (mostly on the characters).
Just came back from other forums. It's much nicer to see people actually saying good things about the new style. I don't know why but what I read elsewhere, some people hate this new style. Some are saying that the cartoon effect was awesome and that you can't even see the cel-shading anymore. I wonder if they are the same people who moaned because Wind Waker wasn't a realistic looking game. I like how the game looks, both GC and Wii U versions. GC version is like a cartoon and this one looks like a painting to me. The only thing that annoys me a bit is the way Link himself looks now. I'm not sure what it is but I hope they'll fix it before releasing the game.
