Considering the long wait, I was thinking that Nintendo will probably add some features or do some makeover on the main menu but there's really not much of a change besides a faster close time on some of the apps.
The update itself does not affect the eShop, only the system. Not sure why the update is supposed to bring an entire service
Really? After the Update, I've been noticing frame-rate drops-especially in the eShop (eg. the scrolling text in the top banner is now a little jerky, and the movement of the cursor [touching the screen to point] seems to not be as smooth).
I know, I know, some people are never satisfied. . . . but, I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed these.
That was a HUGE difference in loading times. Can't believe I used to wait for 15-20 seconds before. This is how it should have been from the get-go. Great update.
Looking forward to: No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again

LOL, the browser loads faster on pre-update (due to internet connrection?). He should have tested the Netflix app. Anyway, the load time really for me doesn't changed significantly. It's when you close the apps that is faster significantly than before.
Lego Citys loading times are most likely a problem of its own coding and has nothing to do with the system itself. But id love to be told wrong, since the loading times are rediculous.

Wii U GamePad update failed.
The console will now restart..
Anyone else got this yet?
Yes I did.
Yeah, It just restarted and began the GamePad update from where it left off. Nothing to worry about.
Yep that's what I seen. Seems to be running smooth up till I starting using the wiimote for things. I really like that part of the update I just got a black screen for the first time I am gonna have to unplug it. This was with the Netflix app and other apps seemed fine for the little bit of time I messed with them with the wiimote. Took awhile for my "U" to recognize the wiimote. Load times and closing times are much better. I'm sure Nintendo will iron that bug out this is what I been wanting wiimote control. The gamepad just doesn't last long enough if I want to sit back and chill for a few hours on Netflix or Hulu. If the gamepad goes dead you don't have to get up just have a wiimote by you. Usually I would have gamed or viewed miiverse awhile before watching anything then there isn't much battery life left.
Edit: While the time it took me to write this I heard a click in the living room it turned off. What do you know that was weird. Gonna try to fire it back up with the wiimote and try netflix again.
Edit: Well it fired up the "U" and got a second of the red screen of Netflix and it went straight back to the black screen.
Edit: Got it to not have a black screen but its not working it's not supported I don't think. I thought I read it somewhere it was. Hulu plus works though.

Yep, got that my first time too (around 70-80% installed).
At the time I thought it was because I left my nearly dead gamepad in its charging cradle . . . which wasn't plugged in.
Anyway, I just restarted and the update picked up where it left off. I'm glad to see that these updates are getting more reliable than their first one.
