That's understandable. I think I remember a few months back, Nintendo explicitly stated that their first speed update (Spring) would focus more on the system software itself and closing/backing out of menu sections. The second update (Summer) is planned to reduce loading times and will be primarily targeted at software.
On a side note, I'm really loving the universally set, custom aspect ratio. That black border around the edge of the screen was starting to get a bit irritating.

Its definitely an improvement. I thought only the spring update was for speed boost. I've had a few updates but when the games are patched now they seem to take about 5 seconds to boot up. After that it is almost immediately.
I'm happy with it and now my main issue is sorted I'll be playing it a lot more often.
