Topic: What should Marios 2014 game should be

Anyway, Mario Kart 8 is coming out in 2014; that's more than enough.

^This Mario needs to be put on the back burner (excluding MK8) so Ninty can focus on other franchises.

Well since it has already been announced I am going with Mario Kart 8. Also the next Smash Bros games is due out too iirc. I think that will be all and maybe some VC releases.

Mario needs the break of a century, but I really think that Nintendo will release Super Mario Galaxy 3 or Super Mario 3D Land 2 in 2014. Nintendo seems to be determined to release a Mario platformer every single year. There has been at least one Mario platformer released during every single year since 2006 (except for 2008), and we got two Mario platformers in 2012. Do you honestly think that Nintendo will ever take a break?

Next Traditional Mario will be for 3DS(Sunshine remake?) is my guess while the next Spin Off Mario will be for Wii U (perhaps a Paper Mario)

I wouldnt mind the occasional Mario themed game. Maybe a puzzle game here (Mario Vs. Donkey Kong) or an RPG there (Mario & Luigi), but weve got way to many main Mario games in such a short time, 2014 should stay clear of them entirely
A really good game needs time, and they should take as much as it needs to reproduce the "wow" effect people got from games like Galaxy.

As far as 3DS goes, Mario Golf is coming out in 2014, too...

There was a good break between Mario Sunshine and Mario Galaxy though. That was probably my longest, most anticipated wait. But I am perfectly fine with no Mario platformer game in 2014... there should not be. Just Mario Kart. Mario's presence will be in other games, so that's more than enough (Mario Golf 3DS, Smash Bros, MK8 as mentioned, etc.)

Am I the only one who just wants GC on the Wii U VC so I don't have to pay 40-50 pounds/$50-60 for you Americans.

For the main-series games platformers, Mario NEEDS to take a break. We already have NSMBU, Luigi U and 3D World in the two years the console has been out. We're also getting Tropical Freeze and (probably) Yarn Yoshi for platformers in 2014, and that's honestly more than enough in my opinion.

I can definitely see stuff like Mario Party 10 and a Super Strikers sequel happening in addition to Mario Kart though.

Probably some spinoff game aside from 8.

Four games is more than enough, but I definitely think we'll get at least one or two more, especially near Christmas to sell consoles. I'm not sure what that would be though, I can't imagine another platformer coming out for a short while yet. A new Paper Mario game on the Wii U is a definite possibility.
