Killer Instinct Gold, Mortal Kombat Trilogy, or something else? I need your opinions, please.

Super Smash Bros, of course. But as far as traditional fighters go, I like ClayFighter 63 1/3 and Fighter's Destiny

I played alot of fighters on the N64, and i have to Say Super Smash Bros is the best.
unless you had a PS1 back then, cuz Street fighter games are still fun

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.

The original Smash Brothers was fun, but it's outshined by its sequels. Mortal Kombat Trilogy and Mortal Kombat 4 were a lot of fun. MK4 probably stands the test of time better. Last time I played one of the old MK games, it seemed too sluggish. Every other fighter I played other than these three was terribly terrible.

None. But there is a decent alternative:

Fighters Destiny. It´s pretty much like a slower version of Virtua Fighter, but at least it has some tricks of it´s own. The point-system is where it really shines. A match is won by scoring 8 points. You get 1 point for a ringout, 3 points for a knockout, and 5 points for a special finisher, as well as some other methods. I wish more games would look at that formula instead of the old 3 round system.

Controls are pretty smart too. Using block, you´re invunerable to high and mid attacks. Holding the evade button makes you automatically jump over low attacks, but has you vunerable to high and mid. This evade button also makes it possible to take sidesteps in the 3D arena. Oh, and ringouts are cool too! Often, you don´t automatically touch ground but stay hanging on the edge! Then it´s up to the attacker to stomp your hands! You can also counter him by dragging him out of the ring.

There are lots of extras, a challenge against a sensei gains extra moves for your character, and there´s a legendary survivalmatch against the invincible cow "Ushi" ^^

If it wasn´t for the slow pace, ugly graphics and dorky characters I´d keep playing Fighters Destiny to this day. Now I keep away from every N64 fighter there is, for luckilly we now have Tatsunuko vs Capcom!

Are there any Street Fighter games for the N64?

Super Smash Bros. is the best fighting game on the Nintendo 64, imo.
Fighter's Destiny comes in second.

To each their own

Chrono_Cross

Super Smash Bros., Mortal Kombat, and Killer Instinct.

At the time, the Saturn was my console of choice for fighters, Capcom and SNK all the way.
I do remember Fighters Destiny on N64, played well - but so slow compared to VF2.

I have Killer Instinct Gold but I haven't played it yet, is there a difference? I liked Smash Bros alot, Mortal Kombat 4 was ok but I don't know how to do pretty much all the moves.

Smash Bros. N64 is better than Brawl.

In some cases, yes, imo.

I liked more of Brawl's characters, though SSB 64 had more memorable stages.

WWE No Mercy? ...really, anything with the Aki engine.

Flying Dragon was a pretty fun fighter. It had a fun quirky cartoonish mode, and a more serious looking, Virtua Fighterish mode.

MORTAL KOMBAT TRILOGY OR WWF NO MERCY FTW

GeminiSaint

Super Smash Bros., then Mortal Kombat Trilogy.

I like Mace: The Dark Age quite a lot, but in all honesty it's not that great of a game. But very fun, and some nifty characters.
