A small part of me wants the Directs to be retired since they were Iwata-san's baby. However they are an amazing delivery service so I'll just have to feel awkweird about it for a while.
I recall seeing this type of information in Nintendo Directs before, with hardware bundles and DLC. Even if it's been announced, Nintendo will have directs "fully unveil" them, or even just provide the latest updates on them.
Sometimes, but usually they aren't the highlight of the direct if they have already been announced. The only times I remember hearing about a hardware bundle in a direct are when the New 3DS was announced for the west and the WWHD bundle. And again, it was an aside to a bigger feature of the game itself.

Of course they'll go on. They maybe have a tiny slight chance of changing their name to honor Iwata and his "Directly to you" shtick, but you bet there's going to be info released for fans one way or another throughout the year. It's too successful a method to stop. Whenever they air, they're usually quick to trend on twitter and facebook. It keeps the public aware of Nintendo, even if it's indirectly.
Additionally, August is nearing it's close. If there is no Direct this month, it will be the first time in Nintendo Direct history when there isn't a Direct in any region for two months in a row, according to wikipedia.
Does this change anyone's opinion? Personally, I now think the company is on hold until they find a new kind of presentation with a different branding.
I'm fine without directs. They didn't have anything important lately.
Some random dude on Nintendo Life.
Toriel left for a while, so Freaky Fred took over her place!
Not changing this part of the signature until Nintendo announces Super Mario Sunshine 2.

Nintendo is still probably probably working things out since the passing of Iwata-San. I don't want to say "give it another month before you start worrying", but while we have seen NDs work without Iwata, he still played a big part in those, so it'll probably be a while before we start seeing them again IF they decide to continue to do them
I'd want to see Reggie host them personally. That'd be pretty amusing given that his almost a meme online and is one of the more important executives after the company's CEO.
