Way back at the start of the year we shared the news that some rather handsome Bowser and Toad Wii Remotes were on their way to Japan. Thankfully they're now confirmed for Europe and, perhaps timed with Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash, arrive on 20th November.
For those of you with a smaller New Nintendo 3DS there are also release dates for some upcoming cover plates, below.
- Animal Crossing (No' 5, 6, 27) - 2nd October (same date as Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer)
- Hello Kitty - 27th November
- Yoshi (No'28) - 27th November
We're particularly pleased about the Wii Remotes, which are both neat designs in this humble writer's opinion.
Do you plan to treat yourself to any of these accessories?

Only Nintendo can sell 10 year old controllers...oh wait, they're also selling 15 year old controllers
Yesssss on the wiimotes!
Hoping for an announcement of the Wii motes for NA. I want that Toad themed controller.
Also, don't forget about the Zelda themed Hori Battle Pad that lands in North America next month.

Hopefully they'll release a well priced bundle with Mario Tennis: US with one of the remotes. I really want another Wiimote+, but they're too expensive.
omg, these have been available in several online shops here for at least a week now...
I want both to come here to NA. The Toad one would go nicely with my Toad amiibo. I want to get the Bowser one for my son. That way we all have one.
i dont even have a wii anymore yet a wiiU but damn i want that toad remote!
Would we PLEASE have Wario next? Release him with a Waluigi one if you have too....
cool
@manu0 They're Wii remote plus controllers, so they're not 10 years old. The gamecube controllers are for the rampaging Melee fans.
@SmoochyTea
Those are probably the Japanese versions.
There was a Yoshi variant of these that never came to USA.
A little late to be selling Wii controllers.
I would have bought these 3 years ago.
Today? No
It's cover plate 042 I've got my eye on, but no sign of release yet.
Currently rocking the Monado plates, as I have been since my copy of Xenoblade 3D arrived.
@manu0 Sony has pretty much being selling the same controller for over 15 years :>
The Toad one is cute, but I'm happy with my Luigi Wii Remote.
Wish they'd sell Pro Controller variants.
Imma get that Toad controller as soon as I can in the US! Bowsers awesome, but I have my pretty blue from Wii days, a Mario and Luigi. I love Toad, so done!
I want toad, yoshi and bowser if they hit us.
heck I'd finish off the SM amiibo line (baring the recolored marios) just to display these remotes some how with them...
I think I will get the 2 Wii Remotes as I have the Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Yoshi one, so will be good to have the set
The controllers are very tempting as they look brilliant! Just take my money Nintendo, just take it all!!! But please save enough for food.
I probably need to buy at least 1 replacement Wiimote soon. My old ones are starting to show some wear & tear from so much use.
Too bad the enhanced Wiimotes never really got the fair shake (Hah!) they deserved. Wii U was another opportunity to use them extensively, since they would be standardized by that point. No dice, though... Most developers just focus on either Gamepad or regular controller. There are still some things which an enhanced Wiimote does better (FPS titles, RTS titles, precision targeting) than other controllers, so it's a shame that it's been largely ignored. I'm still using my original 2006 Wiimote with a gyro attachment...
Toad Wiimote, in NA, NOW NINTENDO!!!
