Is there any relation to whether a 3DS comes with a charging stand and it being an ambassador unit ?. (I presume they no longer do as they are now sold separately).
(Buying a copy of Pokemon / Animal Crossing / Zelda would be so worth it for me for those GBA games).
My nephew is not even allowed to use the eshop (For whatever silly reason).

The ambassador units are those that used the e-shop before the price drop, as an apology from nintendo. So, unless you get a specific used one, it will be impossible to get.
screw you ambassadors.
because of YOU complaining that YOU paid more for your 3DS now NO ONE ELSE can get GBA games on the 3DS >:/
lol just kidding I don't care for the ambassador games, not even the GBA games I always wanted when I was a kid.........

I know it was in jest, but even the premise is way off. The games were a complete surprise and offered without solicitation by Nintendo for Ambassadors. Early adopters didn't hear of the price drop and then complain; it was announced simultaneously (likely to lessen the complaints).
That said, I absolutely don't want any of you stinkin' late 3DS buyers to get access to my precious 10 GBA games.

@Klimbatize, yeah because not buying a videogame console when my gandfather was hospitalized is something only a cheapstake would do.......
lost the chance to be ambassador by a week or two........ and it wasn't because of the price drop....
but you know how the industry works sob stories will get you nowhere, that's why I don't even bother about this ambassador thing.

i am proud to be a 3ds ambassador. i was not mad for one second about the price drop, and i really appreciate receiving free games for it. my only complaint is that gba games disable the 3ds sleep mode, which has kept me from really getting into some of them properly.

People have managed to get them added ages after the fact.

I'm an ambassador, I don't regret paying more for my 3DS one bit. I just think the 3DS was worth $250, and getting the ambassador games was an awesome surprise. I've beaten Yoshi's Island and played a lot if Mario Kart Super Circuit, so there are still a ton of games for me to try.
The truly savvy got the Ambassador games as well as the price drop.
This is what I did. I planned to buy it on launch, but then I ended up waiting 'til August and some people were already reselling them. I got one off of Craigslist for $130, then called Nintendo to activate my ambassador-ness.
I got my Ambassador games a looooong time ago. I remember it was a better deal than the price drop, due to Australia's inflated prices making the value of the 20 games go over $100, especially since the 10 GBA games have been unavailable ever since. The games themselves have been transferred across 3 different systems, to my current Zelda gold 3DS XL. Haven't actually played much of them, even though there's some real gems in there.

This guy gets it got my 3DS for half the UK launch price so £115 just before the Ambassador program due to places cutting prices early.
edit: I only really played Wario Land 4 anyway.
