Topic: Titles that should have been 3DSware?

I think Shifting World should be a 3DSWare title.
It looks great but I can't really see the justification of it being a £30 retail title.

Full list of every game that should be 3DSware: Every 3DS game should be. I would love to be able to download games like Kid Icarus Uprising and MK7 directly to my 3DS.

That would be nice and and all, but you have to consider this: With most consoles these days you're able to dowload full digital versions of retail games, but in some countries like New Zealand (Where I Live) we just DON'T have the infrastructure to be able to do that most of the time. We have have reasonable download speeds, but it still isn't enough. Plus SD cards can get more expensive if you want for example a 32 or a 64gb card and what's the chances you want to download ALL your games digitally? I love having physical copies of my games, that's why I am a gamer. It's too soon to be looking at video games becoming ONLY available through digital networks and I would be unhappy if that were to happen. I don't mind DSiware, 3DSware or the Eshop in general, but let's get things straight, Full 3DS downloads?, hell no!

Yep. All gamers who download their games aren't actually gamers.

Yeah...it took me quite a while (like, 20 minutes?) just to download a demo of Crush...I'm scared to know how long it would take to download Uprising.

@Scissors Umm hello, only ONE game has been actually announced, that woud be Unchained Blades, and we're not actually sure whether it's a Full 3DS download or a full 3DSware title. I doubt Nintendo is going to release 1st party efforts like Mario Kart 7 or Kid Icarus:Uprising. Besides, I don't think you read my whole comment, especially the part where i talked about Broadband???? It's not as plentiful here as it is in America, as I'm well aware where your from from your writing style (the 'oh dawg you got served/screwy troll'). Let me just tell you I don't have have Unlimited broadband and like Eureka, it took me ages to download demoes like Rhythm Thief and Crush3D, so maybe the current eShop doesn't offer full downloads at the moment, are you trying to compare the eshops' efforts to the PSNs or Xbox live? there's a huge difference "Bro".
Look as much as it seems neccessary to you, a service on the eshop that offers Full downloads might not be suitable or attainable for some people, the idea sounds good, I don't necessarily and entirely disagree, but you need to look at it both ways before you try and convince me, as a hardcore Nintendo fan, that I really need this service. After all, most gamers I know out there still prefer physical media compared to digital, this makes sense because when I download a game off the Eshop, I still don't feel I 100% own that media, and it's usually only tied to one device (since I only have one 3DS). But If I own a physical copy of a game I feel totally and 100% like I own it and it's not tied down with media rights, devices etc, plus I get to display it on my shelf along with my other physical games.
Anyway, Like Michael Pachter has been saying on Pach Attack, Physical media is not going away any time soon and while nintendo seems like it's always behind in it's market, it's because they've found the right niche and the perfect way to function as a company, especially since they have been very successful for a very long time, nintendo knows what they are doing.

Puzzle Bobble Universe and Cubic Ninja. Both solid games, just low on content.

Yeah also right now, Puzzle Bobble/Bust-a-move is selling at eshop price, depending on what seller you get it from. It would of probably have gotten a whole lot less of a harsher review.

I don't know. Puzzle Bobble Galaxy on the DS was the best game in the series since a very long time. In comparison to that Universe would even look pale on the eShop imo. Especially with how many soulless sequels they've already spawned before the near-mind-blowing Galaxy.

True, my first Bust-a-move was Super Bust-a-move and it was epic!

No, physical is still a fitting format for most games, also to mention that the carts are supposed to do things downloads can't.

Steel diver would have had lots more sales as a 3ds ware game. As well as Pilotwings (mentioned in the round table earlier this week). would be a very good fit.

Renegade Kid had said in the newest Nintendo Power (May) that there are basically no limits in the eShop. With that in mind, I'm sure that huge 3DSWare games can be made. A new FPS game on eShop, anyone?

ON TOPIC: New Super Mario Bros. 2 was a good start for digital downloads; I don't want to carry around a (relatively) simple game like that on cart. Games that dedicate more playing time at a time like Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy and Kid Icarus: Uprising should stay as a cartridge. Plus, wouldn't it be cool to just switch from Heroes of Ruin to Animal Crossing at an impulse? That would be awesome.

Metroid, Xenoblade, EarthBound shill

I run a YouTube/Twitch channel for fun. Check me out if you want to!

Please let me know before you send me a FC request, thanks.

So...you're assuming these should be downloadable due to lack of content?

Downloadable games such as WiiWare and 3DSWare games are generally shorter and have less content than normal retail games. So yes, they're saying due to a lack of content these games would have been a better fit as a 3DSWare title than a retail title.

My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.

I gotta wonder if they'd make more money off of being 3DSware, though. The downloadable front still isn't as popular as retail, and they'd likely have to price their game far lower than $30-50. Even if they priced Crush 3D at $20 - half of what they charged for the retail version, would you pay that when there are $5 and even $2 games on the same space? Personally, I'm familiar with Crush and know it's an impressive game, so I'd be willing to put down the extra money, but I'm not so sure others would be so eager to grab it.

@RetroGBHippie92 Complaining much?

You do realise that in terms of internets Australia and New Zealand are pretty much in the same boat. ~10Mbps average download speed on speedtest and international links servicing our small populations on the other side of the world. We don't have the luxury of living in a country where most of the servers are located (US), the luxury of only really viewing local content (Japan, Korea) or, particularly with Australia, the luxury of a small area to service (Japan, Korea, UK, Singapore etc, etc)......... but even with all that it's not as bad as you claim it is.

For a start we're talking 3DS games here and small almost 3DSWare candidates at that. Is your quota that restrictive that you can't possibly afford to download a 2GB game? Is your internet speed so slow that you couldn't possibly wait that long? I don't think so. Maybe you're one of those unlucky few who live in one of those blacksposts where 3G is your best option.... but if not you should probably move to a new plan or swap to a different ISP. I'm sitting on a medium to low end plan ATM with 200GB @ 10Mbps which isn't brilliant (it's no 100Mbps) but it's more than enough for a 3DS game to be no problem. Less than an hour to download and maybe half a day worth of quota. Scary.

As far as release schedules go I got Cave Story 3D in mid February so I don't know what you are going on about there. I got it pretty cheap to, I clearly remember that I wasn't going to pick it up until I saw the price. I think it was ~$30AU or so. According to wiki it's been out in Australia since November last year. We do get screwed over by Nintendo and other content producers over here but It's nowhere near as bad as it used to be. They're slowly working out that timely releases reduce piracy, console modifications and result in better sales by riding on the global hype surrounding a release.

Also.... yes, every major Nintendo game is going to get the download treatment. Maybe that wasn't a news thing when you posted your rant but it's painfully obvious now. Game over bro.
