DOA has nice graphics and (its biggest selling point) curvy women with over-sized breasts that like to take part in shower scenes.
Looks like you haven't seen Street Fighter II: Animated Movie. Attractive lady fighters are in every successful fighting game, and it's not all there is to DOA. I enjoy the Dead or Alive games because it's not about cornering your opponent or dedicating all your waking hours to memorizing long complex combos. Everything is fast and intuitive--even the countering.
You're absolutely right; every fighting game series has females that like to flaunt their stuff. But for DOA that is the main selling point. There's more to the game itself than boobs, and it's not a bad game underneath it all, but for at least 8 out of 10 of gamers who would purchase DOA over another fighter, the biggest reason would be because of the women.
it probably sells well because the people who buy DoA can`t quite reach the top shelf of the mag rack just yet. anyway street fighter 4 all the way.
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
Ooooooo seems like street fighter 4 is the winner!! I have to say i do prefer character roster in SF. Specially like fighting games to have a good balance of normal fighters eg. Muscleman ~ Ryu, ken, & sexy woman ~ chun li etc. But i am more interested in the odd~ball characters lol. DOA doesnt seem to have many really creative characters in there roster lots cool funny costumes though. Its shame samus wasnt in there! I do love her area though RIDNEY look so cool when he grabs character drags him along wall before blowin him up with well place fireball!
According to Hayashi(Team Ninja boss) DOA still calculates at 60fps in 3D so the gameplay doesn't slow down but it displays at 30fps so it looks slower. It's probably the same for Street Fighter.
TL:DR DOA's gameplay isn't affected, graphics are. Probably same for Street Fighter.

I never really got into a fighting game before and will get Street Figther 4 3D shortly after launch. I don't own PS360 so it's the only console i can have it on. Why will i get it ? I guess because it looks impressive as a complete package packed with features and modes that to me take the most advantage of what the 3DS has to offer yet. I guess childhood memories and the great comic look of it all don't hurt either. I'll wait for DOA reviews and then decide if i'll get it some day.
But between those two... I'm not sure. I'm more familiar with Street Fighter but I like fighters that play similarly to DoA (Soul Calibur and Tekken). Street Fighter games (and anything like it) make me feel claustrophobic for some reason. But it isn't a huge deal as I'm sure to enjoy SSF3D anyhow. Will also be checking out DoA:Dimensions as well in May.
Street Fighter 4. I'm not even a fan of the series (OH NO CONTROVERSIAL OPINIONS!), but it easily seems to be the better choice in basically every way...except for Ridley fans.
I already own Super Street Fighter IV for PS3 and I've never played a Dead or Alive game, so Dimensions intrigues me more at the moment. It's likely that I'll get both though in the end, lol.
Lieutenant Commander of the Lesbian Love Brigade
There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
I grew up playing SFII on my 6 button Mega Drive pad, so I've never been able to play them proplerly on consoles with 4 face buttons. I have to buy an arcade stick for every console whenever I want to play a fighting game! LOL!
I nevr really like Street Fighter games, so i'm geeting DOA because its just like Tekken
But i'll sell it faster than lightning if a Tekken comes out for the 3Ds
I haven't played DOA before, is it really like Tekken? Absolutely LOVE Tekken!
DOA isn't really like Tekken at all. Tekken plays so much like Street Fighter that I'm surprised it took them this long to come up with Street Fighter x Tekken.
I haven't played either games but I would rather get SSF4 3D. But just like R-L-A-George, I hope they bring the Soulcaliber series to 3DS, I have SoulCaliber II for Gamecube and LOVED it!
