i think the 3D effect for this one actually made me play worse than with the 3D off! especially with the treasure chest level, and let me tell you, that level is a pain in the a**.

I'm going to repeat what everyone else here has said. This isn't a handheld game and the compression on the sprites and sounds are horrible. Ontop of that, and people haven't mentioned this thus far, the controls weren't that great either. A/B for jump and X/Y for special fine but... R/L for sprint? Really? There is a reason why most platformers have one button for jump and a second button that does both the special move and sprint. I don't think straying from that makes the game more playable.

I think Kid Icarus has more comfortable controls than this.

This was always going to end badly, sadly. The 3DS is a technically impressive machine, but it's not up to home console standards.

The 3DS can do much better than this and I'm hoping like hell the full version isn't as compressed. This is a sprite game with a small amount of effects there is no reason why it couldn't have looked more or less as good as the console versions. The Wii version looked pretty good did it not?

Oh and the 3DS can't do an awesome looking 2D sprite based game with effects? Mighty Switch Force says hi.

I guess this game just wasn't made the right way for the 3DS. Oh well.
The Vita version looks great and I have the console version.

Well, it felt comfortable to run on the console version thanks to the DS3's naturally positioned trigger buttons. Here in the 3ds version, it was a bad idea to keep the controls intact... For a small system holding the left shoulder button cramps your hand from time to time, especially since you'll be sprinting most of the time. And to add insult to injury, I heard the 3DS shoulder buttons may break under pressure so unless Ubisoft includes an option to customize the controls, I'd be more concerned about my 3DS' well being.

As for the rest as many said, it runs slower, has bad sound compression and the graphics, while still retaining that impressive art style, are blurry. Well... I did expect this to happen though as most of Ubi's ports have tended to be on the sloppy side, but in the end, it is still Rayman Origins, one of the best platformers of 2011.

I wouldn't say the game is a simple sprite game at all - at least, not the HD/ Vita versions. That level of slick animation takes a heck of a lot to render.

I don't know how the Wii game held up, haven't played it, but I knew before playing this demo that it was going to be difficult to scale down to 3DS hardware.

As I was saying, the Wii version didn't have the sprite or audio compression of this demo. There is no reason for it as far as I can tell outside of either wanting to make the demo smaller or it simply being a lazy port. Also there have been quite a few really well animated and highly detailed sprite based games on the Wii. No reason why the 3DS can't do as good as a Muramasa or Wario Land.... Rayman Origins isn't really doing that much more than those games and the 3DS is certainty capable of pulling off visuals as good as the Wii.

I haven't even tried the demo yet.
I already have one version of the game, and it's not even as good as everyone says, so there's no way I'd be buying the 3DS version even if it somehow turned out to be the best version.
I'm not saying that the game is bad, it's just felt pretty average compared to some of the Wii's other platformers.

I liked the demo... Though, for some reason... It's not what I expected it to be. Honestly, the screenshots made it look better than what I was playing. Also, the sound... It "cuts" a lot and it sounds so compressed and not as crisp and clear as say Mario Kart 7, Kid Icarus and the other 3DS games I own. I can see why this game has been delayed loads of times. Ubi must have had problems bringing this to 3DS. Theory of mine, that's all ._.;

I agree. Although, even though I enjoyed this (EXCEPT that freakin' chest level) I might get the Wii version for the multi-player, as the 3DS version doesn't have any.

Compared to the PS3 version (Probably also the Wii, X360 and Steam version) The game looks uglier, smaller, and sounds even terrible.
And the 3D was terrible.

Way too tiny on the 3ds, and soooo much compression. I could see it being gorgeous and fun on a big screen, but not on the 3DS.

I have to agree, they could of found a unique way for it to work.

I have no clue what the heck you people are talking about when it comes to graphics on the 3D version... It looks beautiful.

There's definitely a blurriness about it that I haven't really seen in other 3DS games and isn't in the footage for the other versions of the game. It's kinda like what happens when you play a DS game full screen but maybe a little bit more. I don't know if it's because everything is very, very small or if it's because it's a demo but it's definitely there.

The colours are great and the 3DS doesn't seem to struggle with it but it's blurry and the sound is very low quality.

Not on my 3DS oddly.

I found myself a little disappointed with the demo.
I found the controls to be stiffer, audio extremely compressed and tinny and the sprites were blurred.
I don't really mind it be zoomed out but that's because I’ve gotten used to it.
However there is one thing that really puts me off buying Rayman Origins 3D, The frame rate. it feels like it's locked at 25FPS...

I hope/thing these problems only exist in the demo as it's 397 blocks in size.

why is game so zoom out?

i though it good but i did wonder whats the killer app in this game?

what the main reason for you to own it?

streetpass?
3D?

it certainly isn't the 2 - player...... which seem to left on the cutting room floor:/

If we knew how small we were are problems wouldn't seem so BIG!
