Now that many people have had their 3DS for over a year, many people would know if 3D is helpful as Iwata has been saying. Do you find it helpful? If so where?

I don't think so...I still love it though. (especially in games like 3D Land)

Personally, I tend to find that it makes it harder for me to see everything properly so I don't use it often.
Looks nice though!

I've grown so accustomed to it that I can't play the 3DS for even a moment with it turned off... everything just looks flattened and hard to distinguish objects from backgrounds; plus the screen itself suddenly seems so small if you turn it off.

I still have no interest in a 3D TV, because at that size (and for movies, etc) I just prefer 2D. But for a handheld system, I'm 100% sold on always wanting 3D in the future. It makes the small screen seem more like a window to a little world beyond it.

Twitter is a good place to throw your nonsense.

For some games, it can really help out. Pilotwings Resort comes to mind.

When I turn the 3D of in 3D Land, I tend to miss platforms much more frequently.

Besides the 3D helping to judge where to jump on platforms in Mario 3D Land it has also helped me in Pushmo a couple of times.

It's helpful in games that were designed specifically to use it, an example being Super Mario 3D Land. On the other hand, using 3D in Star Fox 64 3D made the game almost unplayable for me.

Like others are saying, when I play Super Mario 3D Land I realize that 3D actually effects gameplay if used right. If I turn the 3D off I end up missing certain jumps which I would have noticed if the 3D was on. While for the most part 3D is for visual eye candy, making everything either pop or give what's going on in the screen depth, I really think it effects the gameplay sometimes.

It certainly does help in SML3D, but also in racing games like MK7 and Ridge Racer.

About the only 3DS game that I own that I find it useful for is SM3DL. Out of the 13 3DS games I own that utilize 3D (3DSWare and retail titles), 7 of them are 2D games (meaning that the game action takes place on a 2D environment). Despite this, I still consider my 3DS to be worth the money and worth getting (I'm presuming that's why you asked the question).

Exactly.

If you mean that 3D is helpful in giving me headaches, then yes.

I think it is. With games like Kid Icarus, it makes the games just that much more stunning. Its visually amazing.

It is awesome I love to see the 3D in the games, as warioswoods said:

In Super Mario 3D Land and occasionally maybe in Kid Icarus Uprising. Yes?

Anywhere else? instantly falls asleep from 3D being a boring gimmick of boredom for boring people

Play Super Mario 3D Land, Pilotwings Resort, Star Fox 64 3D, Kid Icarus: Uprising, and Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy, then talk to me again.

Mario Kart 7 is a terrible example.

I've actually played all my 3DS games with the 3D maxed out. Sure, some games are better than others, but the effect is always a good visual boost that makes the game world more lively.
